Let it be known I understood the Smoothie vision from day one. I saw Bumpys egg for the first time and immediately thought “haha they should call it Smoothie”. Even when I saw everyone else was calling the egg Speckles and I noticed I was definitely in the minority I did not give up on Smoothie. Me and the writers were on a wavelength few may understand but all will have to get used to. War is Over. Bumpy’s son is Smoothie.

Seablings first finding each other through Lizzies birthday party, Lizzie going red after her failed party attempts and then breaking the canary curse, Jimmy wanting to throw a party because he wasn’t the first to die but then being the second to die…oohhhh I am thinking so many thoughts right now…
Archie Andrews and Jeff Winger are two sides of the same fucked up little coin and I know that sounds insane but hear me out!
They both start out falling, pretty much at first sight, for women who they know little to nothing about - they just think these girls are attractive and that’s about it.
However they both get to know these women and form a real bond and deep relationship with them over time
But they eventually grow bored of these women and instead move their attentions towards the romanticised version of their female friend that lives in their heads. These friends for a long time pined after both of them and framed themselves as “the one who was right in front of you all along”.
However these women were more in love with the idea of them than actually being with them and to Archie and Jeff these women represent their fear of the future more than anything else.
And in Archie and Jeff’s fantasy versions of their lives - which we see for Archie in S6 Ep19 and for Jeff in S6 Ep13 - they’re with their romanticised versions of these women, living out a white-picket-fence lifestyle.
However this life isn’t something either of these women want. Maybe they did once but they don’t anymore, they’ve grown and changed and they want more from their lives, and they haven’t shown any actual wish to live this life for a long time.
But it isn’t just their relationships with their love interests that make these characters similar - it’s their relationships to their friends in general.
What’s probably a more important part of both of their fantasies is the fact that they’re with their friends, forever - in Archie’s we know that Veronica and Reggie (and we can guess the rest of his friends) all live on the same street as him. In Jeff’s we see him and all of his friends as teachers at Greendale, no matter if that’s what their friends want that or not. Veronica and Reggie don’t want to be in Riverdale forever, they can’t wait to get out. Annie and Abed don’t want to stay at Greendale anymore, they’ve grown and are ready to move away and get on with their own lives.
But they have different reasons for the ways they act and why they want these things - it’s Jeff’s brains that leads to him being manipulative and careless whereas with Archie it’s…look I love the guy but he’s not exactly the brightest bulb in the box. Archie is inherently a selfless and giving person but his naivety is his downfall in so many situations.
However Archie is still a likeable character, much more traditionally likeable than Jeff, because when he does something stupid you can’t stay mad at him for too long cause you know he doesn’t really mean it - Archie is the “likeable leading man” that Abed talks about in S2 Ep1, which is something Jeff can’t ever be.

Me watching everyone in riverdale destroy each others lives and then get in a polycule with each other
Need Veronica Lodge to start throwing things. Need her to start just randomly yelling. Need her to scream cry to mitski. Need her to hug and fight her parents at the same time. Need Hiram Lodge dead but also need him alive so Veronica Lodge can keep yelling at him. Need her to just stand on the ocean in a cold night and connect with the earth for a sec. Need her to leave riverdale forever. Need her to stay there forever with the people she loves. Need her to be happy forever. Need her to keep on being girlfail. Need her to adopt a little cat and tell it all her problems and give it a kiss on the forehead before having a long nights sleep. Need her to have a warm glass of milk and be tucked in. Need her to keep on performing sondheim forever. Need her to just start smashing stuff for no apparent reason. Need her to never worry about anything else again.
The worst thing about people saying “woah who could’ve predicted this” when it comes to riverdale hate is like…I could predict this. I watched this show for years, I read interviews from the creators and cast, I spent years rewatching and paying attention to these characters that I understood everything they did with the show. The superpowers and multiverses? They were hinting and talking about the supernatural elements of the show for years. Going back to the 50s? Ras always wanted to do a season more faithful to the comics. Archie, Betty, Veronica and Jughead all being in a relationship? When you look back at all of their past relationships, yes it does make sense. Of course you don’t understand a show from seeing a few out of context screen grabs on twitter that isn’t how TV works! That’s why it’s so sad that some people weren’t watching live as it happened because if you weren’t really involved in the conversations about riverdale you aren’t going to understand it as well. I joke about how riverdale is actually a great show but it really does make me sad that some people won’t give it any recognition because they’ve seen a couple crips with cringy dialogue. Basically I need them to stop speaking on my children because they will never understand them like I do

Idc what everyone says JOELS FINALE WAS COOL!! I think some people just have to accept that some empires creators don’t feel as comfortable doing a lot of in depth lore and that’s fine!! Personally I think empires is about the creators giving us something to run with and make our own by making silly head-canons or writing our own stories based off the world and characters they’ve given us. If you really want in depth lore watch someone else but let other people be a little silly with it. Also as a hardcore jeremyism lover I’m just glad we got more jeremy
