It was only a few bars, a segue from one theme into another, but Alicent felt, for the first time since the rehearsal began, Rhaenyra’s eyes on her. They were sitting a meagre few feet from one another, close enough that Alicent could smell her perfume when she flourished with her wrists, that Alicent could reach out and touch her if she wanted to.
