"Jekyll and Hyde: the Musical"?
More like "Jekyll and Hyde: All the Best Lyrical Ballads of the 90s"
Edward Hyde's brutal scientific experiments on the communist dog man Polygraph Polygraphovich Sharikov.
Translation:
"I'm not a mister, all the misters are in Paris!!" Sharikov replied calmly.
Don’t think about anything, I’m just declaring this day the day of asking questions for mutual followers. How did you come to your current nickname "BedBabayka"? Was your choice influenced by inspiration from some images, persons, your own interests, or?
OH! That's a great question, thanks!🖤
I've actually been thinking for a long time about how to call myself short and memorable. But there was always one important criterion - an ambiguous name.
Initially, I wanted to call myself Meta Murphy (an allusion to Metamorphosis). But then, in 2021, when I fell in love with the novella "Heart of a Dog" and the Soviet setting all over again, I decided that I would start with Russian-language sites like VK.
And after some thought, I chose the name Бабайка Кроватная (Bed Babayka). In English, this nickname literally translates as "Bed Monster/Boogeyman" (the monster that lives under the bed). And I love monsters and unusual creatures. They not only fill me with inspiration and strength, but also help me to better explore myself, my place in the world, and even better understand and find my gender non-conformity.
In general, I love everything strange and unusual.💋👹
Had this in my work in progress bin for yonks.
We love to see @dross-the-fish's Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. It was for sure his version that made me a fan
I love free will 🙏🙏🙏
In fact, Sharikov is trying to play a balalaika cover version of the the song "Alive" here.
A redrawing of one cool meme from VK.
If Grumpy hadn't been dropped into the tub, he would have looked like this during dinner.
Art trade for @eksentrismi with Dr. Jekyll from the 1986 cartoon!
I really like this moment in the cartoon, where he wrote his observations in his personal diary. Get a lofi hip hop girl vibe, lol. After all, the designs in this cartoon are VERY gorgeous!
Oh, yes, I almost forgot.
Professor Preobrazhensky is played here by ‼️Max von Sydow‼️
Not Vincent Price, of course, but nevertheless...
Poster for the 1976 Italian film "Heart of a Dog" ("Cuore di Cane").
Yes, there was another film adaptation of this Bulgakov novella. In the German box office, the film is called "Why is Mr. Bobikov barking?" ("Warum bellt Herr Bobikov?")
Old art alert, but here's an art trade I've drawn for @bedbabayka-art a while ago!! And it's Mr. Jones in his formal attire, from the animated "Animal Farm"-movie!
Hope that you still like this one! :3
