The escalating bromance between Han Tae-joo and Captain Kang Dong-Cheol from episode 9.

Soooo. JJK has got me in my feels. And after some going back and forth with @goth-mami-writer, this angst filled minific was born. Enjoy!
Spoilers! Proceed with Caution!
Summary: Nanami sees more than just the beach during his final moments
Every step is pain. The air against his melted skin stings, making the exposed muscles throb in time with his heart beat. Nanami Kento focuses on putting one step in front of the other. He needs to keep going. Needs to make sure the others survive. But he is so tired. His entire body aches, but the lack of vision from his left eye is the worst.
Kento feels off balance, and he breathes deep to focus on his footing. He can't fall now. Not when he still breathes.
“Malaysia,” he rumbles, and fuck. Even that hurts, but he pushes on, mind elsewhere instead of the cold steel walls of the train station. A beach, with blue water and white sand. Horribly reminiscent of the Domain he'd just escaped from. Nanami thinks morbidly.
His ears pick up the disgusting sounds of Curses and transfiguration humans. He can't bring himself to feel anything for the tortured souls, not now. Not when all he can feel is agony. He focuses back on white sand and crashing waves.
Nanami Kento’s body moves on instinct, fighting his way through the hoard of disfigured bodies that called out for help. His mind was elsewhere, far away on that beach in Malaysia.
Kento crouches, splashing the water with a soft smile. It feels wonderful against his skin. His jacket is discarded to the sand shore, and he steps further into the ocean despite his shoes and socks still on. He feels free for the first time in what feels like ages.
“Kento.”
The blonde freezes, eyes opening and mouth dropping as his dream suddenly becomes a nightmare. He can feel the gentle splash of another body joining him in the ocean, but he doesn't dare turn around. Nanami couldn't bear to face the one he loved.
The ghostly touch of two hands comes to rest upon his shoulders, and he tenses at the touch. As much as he wants to, he doesn't resist the soft pressure, and soon, he is gazing up at you.
You smile down at him, soft and full of devotion just like usual. One hand carefully slides across his face and into his hair, “Kento,” you whisper, and the man breaks.
“My love, please forgive me,” His voice, always strong and reassuring, cracks in his anguish. He would never see you again. Your radiant beauty and the soft touch of your hand when you welcome him home after a long mission. The thought crushes him more than anything else up to this point, and Nanami finds himself clutching at your visage.
“There was nothing that I could have done. Forgive me for leaving you in this cruel world,” he begs and drops his head, brow resting upon your stomach as he kneels in the water.
Your hands tighten in his hair and gently bring his face up and away from your body. You look at him, eyes knowing and understanding, and Kento knows then that you will never blame him for his failure. That like every other time he has come to you, broken and bleeding, you would whisper how strong he is, how much of a hero he was to continue this dangerous life.
“I can't change the choices I have made to bring us here, but I can apologize for how unfair this outcome is for you,” Nanami murmurs, voice soft and full of love only for the one person who brought so much light into his dangerous life, “I'm sorry, my love.”
Nanami Kento opens his eyes to the phantom of his dead best friend, ears picking up the sounds of frantic footsteps. He turns his good side and smiles softly at the sight of the pinkett.
“Itadori Yuuji,” Kento says loud enough for the teenager to hear him, “You take it from here.”
hiii i love your writing for morpheus sm i literally died of fluffness omfg and i love rereading them too🥺🫶
id like to propose a song prompt with taylor swift and her song seven. i was listening to it and then the lines "love you to the moon and to Saturn, passed down like folk songs, the love lasts so long" really fits morpheus and wife reader. maybe the idea that they lived among humans at some point and then they got passed down like folk stories
do with it what you feel like i just really love your writing ahh <33
Aaaaaaah I love Taylor Swift songs😩 You probably had fluff in mind but mine went straight to a Calliope-style angsty reunion (with a slight reference to Taylor’s Death by a thousand cuts)
“I... I heard about what happened,” you hesitate. “Are you...?”
“It is the past.”
The haunted look in his eyes says otherwise, however. His hundred years of imprisonment may be over, but the past is still very much present in the room with you. You are more than familiar with the feeling - the moment you opened the door and found yourself face to face with Dream of the Endless, you felt as though the living memory of an age long gone had come to pay you a visit.
Now you’re standing with him in your small London apartment, still searching for words through the fog of a thousand different feelings rushing over you all at once.
“Oh,” you say when you fail to find them, arms crossed over your chest as if you are cold. You’re not. Or, you’re not sure. The memory of his embrace comes tugging gently at your heart, as warm and safe as a soft blanket wrapped around you on a rainy day; but your mind remembers how it all came to an end as well, harsh words followed by a sudden absence that chilled you to the bone.
“I see you still prefer to live among humans,” Dream remarks, glancing at the simple surroundings of your home. He is not judging, merely observing. After all, he used to share a second home in the Waking World with you, once.
“It’s... quieter than it used to be. Few still believe in your kind and mine,” you admit with a small, wistful smile at the memory of the times when they did. “But some still remember the songs about us.”
A great love, one for the ages, they once called it. And it felt so true, for a while.
Perhaps you shouldn’t have mentioned such a thing, you realize the moment the words leave your lips. You don’t know why he’s here, but surely it isn’t to reminisce over what you once shared. That story is over, and the last thing you want is to revisit its pages.
Right...?
“So do I.”
His voice is so soft, it almost makes you shiver. You were so sure you would never hear him speak that way to you again... It takes you a moment to realize what it is he’s saying.
The songs. He hasn’t forgotten.
“I have learned much in recent times,” he confesses quietly, his frown deepening as he speaks, “and in light of that, I have come to realize... there were times in the past when I believed myself to be in the right, when in fact I was...”
He takes the few steps separating you slowly, cautiously, eyes searching yours for any sign that he might be unwelcome in your proximity. But you simply stand there, holding your breath as he comes close enough that he isn’t touching you, but could if he wants to. If you want him to.
“Wrong?” you offer gently. It’s not a word that comes easily to him, but it’s quite touching that he’s willing to try it for the first time. Now that it has been said, the tension leaves him.
“I have wronged you,” he admits freely. “When we parted... you did not deserve the words I spoke to you. I regret them.” He’s silent for a moment. “I regret having parted from you at all.”
At first, you’re so taken aback by his words, by how unlike him it is to apologize, you are utterly speechless. But then it settles in that he is here after all this time, and he is apologizing, telling you he wishes he had never left... and you have so much so say, you couldn’t possibly decide where to begin.
All you know is that you want to find out where it might lead.
“Would you like to stay for dinner?” you gently break the stretching silence.
Relief softens Dream’s features then. He never eats in the Waking World, but he knows as well as you that it isn’t food you are offering. It’s precious time with you that he has lost over the centuries - and, perhaps, a second chance.
“It would be my pleasure,” he accepts whole-heartedly.
It seems there may yet be some truth to those songs, after all.

Thinking about how sweet Nanami is to you during your pregnancy.
He’s so attentive, even more so than usual, because he wants to make sure that you’re comfortable. He’ll run you baths at night and give you massages when your muscles are tense. He also holds your belly up to alleviate some of the pressure on your back.
Nanami is the type of daddy who will go with you to all of your doctor visits. Even when he has to work he’ll find a way to make it. He will also go with you the recommended birthing classes without you having to ask. He’ll learn Lamaze techniques so he can help you remember the correct breathing and relaxation forms for when you go into labor. All the other mothers in your class can’t help but tell you how lucky you are to have him because most of their husbands didn’t even come.
Later that night while Nanami is gently rubbing your tummy and whispering sweet nothings to your baby you can’t help but agree, you’re so incredibly lucky.
When you finally go into labor Nanami holds your hand the entire time.
He whispers words of encouragement into your ear, telling you “how strong you are,” “how you can do this,” and “how he’s right here with you.”
You deliver the sweetest little angel who looks like a perfect carbon copy of her daddy and even though you’re a little jealous (because you’re the one that held her for 9 months) your heart overflows with love for your new family
Bonus :
Sweat covers your brow.
Your chest rises and falls rapidly as you try your best to catch your breath. After twenty-four hours of intense labor your baby girl is finally here and she’s perfect — ten little fingers and toes, a tiny button nose, the chubbiest cheeks you’ve ever seen, and a head full of hair. She’s your little angel. And while you stare at your daughter in amazement you feel Nanami press his lips against your head. “Thank you” he says in a voice laced with adoration as he places his large palm on your daughter’s head “thank you so much.”
Your eyes begin to well up with tears . . . freaking hormones
RAINY DAYS! - AKAASHI KEIJI
summary, akaashi helps you on a rainy day.
— mutual pining, minor swearing, fluff, akaashi being a geek in love
they say that rainy days are the best way to see someone's love for them. at that moment, their love would be displayed to the public and everyone can see how much they love one another.
even if they shared an umbrella, there would be a certain angle where someone would be more exposed to the droplets instead of the other one.
and it was obvious that akaashi keiji displayed love for you.
you looked at the grey clouds that are coming your way, your hands on your hips as you examine them. multiple coulds are nearing and indicates that they bring a huge storm.
a sigh escapes your lips as you crossed your arms, thinking wether to wait for the rain to stop or just run to the nearest store that are a couple blocks away. you should've watched the weather forecast this morning before going to work.
and then it hits you. you left your clothes to dry out on the balcony of your apartment. crap— and it seems like you can't be going home right now.
"something on your mind, (y/n)?" a familliar voice asked you to which you turned around.
a small smile forms on your lips to show that you're alright, although it's quite evident that it's faux.
"i forgot my umbrella and it looks like heavy rain is coming" you muttered to which he just nodded and walked towards you.
"you can borrow my umbrella, if you'd like" he says, voice coated with worry. you shook your head and flailed your hand.
"no, it's fine! how are you gonna go home if i take your umbrella, akaashi?" he pushes the bridge of his glasses and crosses his arms.
"we could go together, if that's fine with you?"
he really wanted to blurt that sentence out but the words got stuck in his throat. he wants to have a chance at helping and getting closer to you!
ever since you both started working here together, he's had a teensy little crush on you which eventually grew and drove him crazy. he's never felt like this before and he's so nervous right now.
he opened his mouth to talk but he gets nervous. what if she thinks i'm weird? what if she already has someone else? what if—
"but if you don't mind, maybe we could go together? you can just drop me off at the nearest store! i wouldn't want to bother you" you said sheepishly and he thanks the heavens that you were the one who said that instead.
"of course it isn't bothering me, i'd love to" he says with a small smile.
crap.
how the hell did his umbrella got stolen? he could've sworn he put it in the basket with the other umbrellas but right now— he's looking at an empty basket.
he examined further, maybe it was buried deep inside the basket? nope it wasn't. he sighed and watched you looking at the rainy clouds. suddenly, an idea popped up.
"(y/n), i have another idea but it might be a little crazy"
which led to this.
"just a little more (y/n)! i can see 7E from here!" he whisper yelled as he ran with you to the 7E with him holding his jacket on your figure.
"ugh, you try to run in heels!" you pouted but ran anyways. he almost lets out a laugh when you whined in complaint.
maybe to some people the action of running together in the rain is stupid. maybe it was sweet.
but to akaashi keiji, he thinks it was the best rainy day that ever happened to him. he doesn't mind being drenched in the pouring rain if it means he gets to be your knight in shining armour.
he doesn't mind letting you use his jacket (which he offered in the first place) as an umbrella. he doesn't mind running together with you in the rain.
both of you walked into the convenience store, drenched. you laughed and before he realised it, he's smiling too at your laughter.
"thank you, akaashi" you mumbled and he just gives you a small smile in return. "keiji" he mumbles to which you raised a brow.
"call me keiji" he says, again with a small smile and red cheeks.
the whole running in the rain act was worth it, even if it meant he had to take a sick leave the next day and rot in bed.
especially when you came for a visit and gave him your handcooked chicken soup that's perfect for headaches.
I watch jjk with my dad and he can't remember any of the characters name, so it gave me an idea. Anyway tell in the tags or wherever you want wich character you end up with i HAVE to know.
"Every time we've met, even if she was lying, whenever she saw me, she'd always be smiling. Would it have made a difference if I'd ask you earlier? All the things you've been through thus far, that made you unable to be at ease even for a moment. Even though you were scared of me, the reason why you so desperately tried to stay by my side... Although there are many things I don't understand... as expected, I can't leave you alone."
