For your 100 follower requests: "More please" first kiss scenario with Tovar or Whiskey. WRITER'S CHOICE.

Alright this turned into something way bigger than I had planned. This sits at 2.7k. Don't ask me where the actual idea came from, I have no idea.

Also, I want you to know, I wrote the ENTIRE SCENE with the goats and then went "...I should make sure she likes goats."

Jack Daniels x f!reader. Meet cute at a county fair. No warnings, this is all cute fluff with kissing.

Without further ado, I present to you:

She Moves Through the Fair

For Your 100 Follower Requests: "More Please" First Kiss Scenario With Tovar Or Whiskey. WRITER'S CHOICE.

You were standing off to the side of the crowds, by the animal housing. Your friend was 20 minutes late so far, which wasn’t like her. You’d texted her ten minutes ago to check in.

Finally, your phone buzzed.

Hey so sorry I forgot we were supposed to go today I can’t make it

You groaned out loud at that. Great. So now you were on your own at the county fair. You’d already paid the entrance fee, so you might as well stay now. This was not how you’d expected your day to go.

“Everything alright?”

You jumped, turning towards the voice. A man had come up behind you, hands stuck in the pockets of his jeans. He was wearing a black Stetson. Your lips twitched against your will.

“I’m fine,” you told him. “Just a change of plans, is all.”

“You need any help?” The man offered you a little smile, brown eyes warm.

“No, thank you. I think I’m going to go pet some goats and… figure something out.” You shrugged.

His eyebrows shot up his forehead. “Figure something out? Are you here alone?”

“Yes,” you answered reluctantly.

“Well, I’d say I’m sorry, but this means I get a chance to escort a pretty lady today.” He smiled at you. “My own company found someone else to run around with, so I seem to be unattached for the day.”

You narrowed your eyes at him. He didn’t flinch, just waiting patiently. Well, he was handsome, that was for sure. Seemed to have manners. And if needed, you could definitely get away from him – this was a county fair, not a private event. There was security around. And if you kicked up a fuss, you’d get bystander support.

“Sure,” you agreed. “Why not. You might get bored, though.”

“I’ll be bored on my own, so if that happens, at least I’ll be bored in lovely company.” He winked at you, almost over the top, and smiled when you giggled. “I’m Jack, by the way.”

You gave him your name and shook his hand, amused.

“I believe you said something about goats?” Jack grinned at you, motioning you to go first. You nodded and headed for the nearest animal housing area, perking up a bit. Sheep over here. That was fine. You patted every sheep that came up to the fence, saying hi to each one. Jack kept pace with you and, to your surprise, he also chatted easily with the sheep. Mostly he snuck sly little comments about the “beautiful lady” he was with, making you grin every time.

“You’re quite a flirt,” you told him once the two of you finally reached the goats. “I think these guys will appreciate it more than the sheep, though.”

Jack threw his head back and laughed at that, bright and full-bellied. “You think so, huh?”

“Well, the goats are more active, usually,” you pointed out, as one headbutted your hand for attention. “Although if I were you I’d save the sweet talking for the pygmy goats, those things are too damn cute.”

“Favorites of yours, I take it?” Jack asked, leaning down a bit to pet a lazy goat who bleated at him without actually getting up.

“If I could, I would have like three of those,” you told him. “They’re so cute. And they’re a more manageable size than regular goats.”

“Looks like there’s some pygmies up there,” Jack pointed out, nodding to the end of the row.

“Don’t rush me, I’m getting there,” you shot back playfully. Jack just chuckled at you. “So, what brought you here today? You said you got ditched?”

“Promised a friend I’d come,” Jack told you with an easy shrug. “He wanted some help picking something out. ‘Course, soon as we’d done that, he got a call from another buddy of his and abandoned me to meet up with that group.” He shot you a flirty smile. “My gain, though.”

You chuckled. “Well, I dunno about that,” you murmured.

“I do.”

You felt your cheeks heat with blood and you ducked your head, momentarily flustered by his outright flirting. Then you smiled. “Well, we’ve got the rest of the day,” you pointed out. “I have no plans.”

“No?” Jack smiled. “Let’s see if I can’t change that.” He stepped around you, getting ahead of you, and winked before he sauntered off to the end of the row to the pygmy goats. He started chatting with an older gentleman on the other side of the fence, nodding back your direction once. You kept half your attention on him, curious what he was doing. But not quite curious enough to go butt in on the conversation. Instead you kept going down the row, petting goats.

At least until Jack trotted back over to you, looking smug as the cat that ate the canary. “Come on,” he told you, holding out a hand to you.

“What?”

“Come on!” Jack smiled, beckoning you again. You took his hand, and he promptly tugged you along over to the pygmy goats. The gentleman behind the fence opened up a section of fencing for you, ushering you both inside, and then efficiently herded you both into the pen with the pygmy goats.

“Oh my god,” you breathed, eyes huge. There were five goats and three kids. The kids were teeny tiny, and promptly ran over to investigate the two of you.

“Sit,” Jack encouraged you. “They’ll nibble a bit, so watch your stuff.” He gently pushed one kid away from nibbling on the hem of his jeans.

You sat, eyes still huge, and let the kids and the mamas sniff you and climb on you. They were adorable and friendly, and you were having a blast. Definitely needed to get like three of these little guys. Someday.

“How did you…?” You finally asked Jack several minutes later, after the kids had worn themselves out a bit. One of them had fallen asleep with its head on your foot, and you were loathe to move.

“Just had a friendly chat,” Jack told you, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes.

“You’re incredible,” you told him with a blinding smile. “I can’t believe you did this for me.”

Jack’s smile turned a little softer, almost shy. “Well, why not?” he countered. “You got stood up, looks like, might as well make the best of your day now.”

You had no words for that, so you just smiled helplessly at him and scratched one of the mama goats when she wandered over to you.

You could have happily stayed there all day, but you did eventually get up. Mostly because your stomach was rumbling, and Jack insisted the two of you eat. So you got up, said goodbye to the goats (and thanked the owner), and made your way outside to a hand washing station.

“Bright,” you grumbled as soon as you were outside, squinting. “It was not this bright earlier.”

“You didn’t bring a hat?” Jack asked, tutting at you.

“Forgot it,” you admitted. You looked at him, reached up, and stole his hat, plonking it on your head with a cheeky grin. “This’ll work.”

Jack’s jaw dropped for a moment, and then he swallowed hard, looking you up and down. “Looks good on you,” he croaked.

“Thanks.” You flashed him a grin and reached out for his hand. “Food’s this way, come on.” He followed behind you easily, letting you lead the way.

The food area was, as usual, crowded and large. There were at least a dozen different vendors, all with different types of food, everything from pizza and hot dogs to turkey legs to gyros.

“What are you in the mood for?” you asked Jack, stepping out of the way and scanning the different offerings. “And if you say anything with fried dough before lunch, I’m walking away.”

Jack laughed at that, slinging an easy arm around your shoulders. You didn’t flinch at the touch, a little surprised at yourself. “Nah, I’m pretty easy to please. I usually go for a hot dog, or a sausage to start.” He winked at you, and you choked and spluttered for a moment.

“Go, I’ll meet you at a table,” you told him, waving him on. He hesitated for only a moment before he nodded, releasing you and striding off to get in line. You took a few moments to admire the view as he walked away. Mmm. Those jeans did great things for him from this angle. (From any angle, really, if you were being honest with yourself.)

You did tear your gaze away from him so you could trot off to get in line for your own food. Fortunately, things went quickly, and by the time you had your food and turned to look for Jack, he was flagging you down from an empty table. A smile stretched your lips – he was squinting at you. You still had his hat on. Your heart fluttered, just a little.

“You can have it back, if you want,” you told him, touching two fingers to the brim of his hat as you sat down next to him.

Jack smiled, slow and sweet as molasses. “Nah,” he said. “Looks good on you. Keep it.”

You returned the smile, and the two of you settled in to eat lunch. You finally learned a bit more about him – he worked at a distillery. Not one you’d heard of, though you absolutely did not claim to be a connoisseur of whiskey. In return, you told him a bit about your own job, and the friend who’d cancelled on you today.

“We come once a year,” you told him as the two of you cleaned up. “Well. She sometimes comes more often, but the two of us always come. We usually do a bit of early holiday shopping. Eat junk food. Stuff like that.”

“Well, we’ve eaten some junk food,” Jack said, glancing at your empty plates. “We’ll get to more of that later. Haven’t done any shopping, though.”

“I’m not dragging you through the vendor buildings,” you protested.

“Who says you’ll be dragging me, darlin’?” Jack shot back with an easy grin. “I’ll tell you if I get bored, promise. Now c’mon.” He grabbed your hand, towing you along with him. The crowds parted easily for him, and you couldn’t help a little huff of jealousy. Of course he’d get from point A to point B without being elbowed half a dozen times.

To your surprise, Jack was just as enthusiastic about shopping as your friend was. He had an eye for quality, charmed the vendors into giving you better deals, and ended up with multiple purchases of his own. He stopped and bought beef jerky in a variety of flavors. He sampled local honey with you. He even somehow ended up in a half hour discussion with a local vintner talking about barrels, of all things. That one you mostly just watched, perplexed, only half following the conversation. Watching Jack was far more interesting, anyway. He was a social chameleon, able to fit in at any and every booth he stopped at. Honestly, it was fascinating to watch.

Jack carried half of your bags for you, ignoring your protests, until you huffed and gave in.

The two of you zig-zagged back and forth through the vendor buildings for a solid few hours, until you cried mercy and Jack insisted on a snack break. He parked you at a quiet out of the way table, away from the main hustle and bustle of the fair, and vanished with promises to return with sustenance. You sat backwards on the bench so you could lean back against the edge of the table, smiling. Your day had certainly turned out much better than you would have guessed.

Jack came striding back with a funnel cake, and you couldn’t help but laugh.

“I haven’t had one of these in years,” you told him, amused as you took one of the forks.

“It is a fair,” he told you with a wink. “Haveta get something fried here, darlin’.”

“Fair enough.” You smiled at him, sitting closer than was strictly necessary on the bench to share the funnel cake with him. The quiet was easy between the two of you, comfortable and relaxed. The fair noises were a little quieter here, and nobody even passed by your table.

“You’ve got a little somethin’,” Jack said, pointing to his own cheek to demonstrate. You swiped at your cheek, and he shook his head. “Nope, still there.” After watching you wipe your cheek again, he chuckled. “May I?”

“Okay,” you agreed, heart tripping and then slamming into double time. Jack reached over slowly, giving you plenty of time to move, and his thumb swiped across your cheek, then again. You leaned into the touch, and his hand cupped your cheek instead.

“Can I kiss you, darlin’?” he asked, voice low and quiet.

“Yes.”

Jack leaned forward and pressed a gentle kiss to your lips. His moustache tickled a little, making you smile into the kiss. His hand was warm against your cheek as he held you there, pulling back a little.

“More, please,” you murmured, still smiling at him.

“With pleasure.” Jack kissed you again, a series of gentle kisses that slowly became less chaste until he finally pulled back. Your eyes fluttered open – when had you closed them? Jack was smiling, his thumb sweeping across your cheek again.

“I think we can safely say you rescued the day,” you murmured, smiling.

“It’s my pleasure, darlin’,” Jack assured you. He kissed you one more time, apparently unable to resist, and then sat back. “What else is on your agenda for the day?”

You pulled out your phone for the first time in hours to check the time and make sure you hadn’t missed any actually important messages. Nothing important. And it was getting later than you’d realized.

“I should probably head home soon,” you said regretfully. “I don’t usually stay for the music stuff. Too loud.”

“I understand.” Jack smiled. “Well, then, darlin’, you say the word and I’ll help you to your car.”

“You don’t have to,” you protested, already knowing it was useless and unable to hide your smile.

“I insist,” Jack told you with a grin of his own. “My mama’d box me ‘round the ears if I didn’t.”

You giggled at that and shook your head. “Come on, one more walk down the main road, just in case anything catches our attention.”

The two of you stood, Jack once again stealing most of the bags (although you had to admit he had them stacked and set inside each other to make things easier), and then you were off. You were at the far end of the fair, so you had a nice stroll towards the front. It was just about the point at which the type of crowd changed – the families with children were leaving, and the teenagers and young adults were starting to swarm in for the musician of the night.

Honestly, you were loathe for the night to end, but you needed to get home.

“Thank you for today,” you told Jack as the two of you walked back to your car. “Really.”

“It was my pleasure, darlin’,” Jack told you. He set down your bags in your car and then boxed you in against the side of your car, tipping his hat (which was still on your head) up so he could kiss you again. And again. And again. Finally he stepped back, lips shining and red, eyes dark. “I’ll see you again soon, darlin’.”

“Your hat,” you started.

“I’ll get it next time.” Jack gave you one last lingering kiss before he took two big steps backwards. “Go on home. Check your bags. We’ll talk soon.” He winked you and turned, walking away.

It took every ounce of willpower you had not to either go after him or immediately dig through your bags to find out what he was talking about. Instead you drove home as calmly as you could, the hat placed safely on the passenger seat. As soon as you were parked, you were gathering up the bags and the hat and bolting inside to find whatever he had left you.

A small bag that you didn’t recognize was tucked into one of the bigger bags. Inside was a pair of earrings you had talked yourself out of buying, citing that they were out of your price range, and a business card. The business card had two numbers: office and cell. Jack Daniels. The simple note written on it made your heart soar.

Call me anytime, darlin’. I’ll see you soon.

Urgent Care

A/N: Okay, so I wrote this loosely based on this post that @imagine-assembling-the-avengers reblogged a little over a month ago because I couldn’t help myself. I think it may have gotten a little out of hand, but I’m p happy with the way it’s turned out! I just hope you guys feel the same way lmao

“Margaret Carter?”

“Yes?” The woman lying on the hospital bed manages to rasp out. Her breathing is labored and she’s fighting to keep her eyes open. “Who…” She trails off, trying to catch her breath. “Who are you?”

“You don’t know me, but I know how to help you.”

She lets out a hoarse laugh. “How could you help me? I’m dying, dear. There’s nothing to be done.”

“There’s always something to be done.” I shake my head and step towards her. “I have… well, I have powers. I can restore you to the way you were in the forties; young, spry and healthy.”

“How is it that you have these powers?” She asks, wary of the newly presented information.

“I’m an Inhuman, Ms. Carter. When Terrigen mists were released in my city, I was lucky enough to have the necessary alien genes to form a chrysalis and develop powers. Now,” I place my hands on my hips. “Do you want my help or not?”

“Why do you want to help me?”

“Because your idiot godson and too-pretty-for-his-own-good ex are about to do something so stupid that it’ll destroy the balance between supers and civilians as we know it.”

Her eyes widen. “And how do you happen to know this?”

“Not illegally, I can promise you that. I just happen to have Inhuman informants on the inside.”

“Alright… but how do you expect to explain my sudden, miraculous transformation to the hospital staff?”

“Oh, the hospital won’t know. They’ll think you’ve died.”

“And how do you expect to pull that off?”

“Tetrodotoxin B, Ms. Carter. It slows the heart rate to one beat per minute. Dr. Banner is quite brilliant, regardless of whether or not his inventions work the way he intended them.”

“So, I’ll be dead, will I?”

“Legally, yes.”

“And when I wake, I’ll be young again. Is that what you’re telling me?”

“Pretty much, yeah.”

She’s silent for a moment, staring at something directly in front of her. She purses her lips and turns back to me “Do it.”

“Cool,” I smirk and produce a syringe of the tetrodotoxin b and take a step closer to the woman on the bed. “I suggest you get comfortable. You’re gonna be out for a while.”

Dammit.

Shit.

Fuck.

All the curses.

Turn right at the next aisle and — shit shit shit they were stocking, the whole fucking thing was just covered and you couldn’t get the cart out and you couldn’t….

You backed up fast, so fast the little boy in your cart said Wee and nearly dropped your phone onto the floor.

Your eyes were darting around and you nearly bowled into some very nice guy minding his own business and debating on a breakfast cereal.

“Shit! Sorry!”

He smiled and oh well hello.

“No worries.”

Now this wasn’t fair.

You were trying to escape and this man was hypnotizing, utterly unfair. Completely not ok.

Your mouth opened and closed like a dying fish and you fumbled with, “I’m sorry, I’m….escaping.”

Old Guys Rule

Frankie Morales x Female Reader

Summary: With a birthday coming up, Frankie's insecurities about the age gap in your relationship start to get the better of him

Warnings: legal age gap relationship, insecurities about said age gap, mentions of children but no mentions of how they came to be in the relationship

Old Guys Rule

I found this hat in a shop in Cornwall and I had to write this!

"Are you wanting to do anything on your birthday? I was thinking about booking a table down at that Italians you like and asking your Mom to watch the girls but if you have plans with the guys I can find a different day?" you looked over your shoulder at Frankie from where you had been scrolling through the booking page of the restaurant.

"Hmm? No, dinner sounds fine," Frankie answered, his head not lifting up from his phone as his face stayed firmly unbothered.

"We don't have to do anything if you don't want to..." you trailed off as you turned back to the laptop that was resting on the kitchen counter, not convinced by Frankie's response.

"What?" you could tell that his head had whipped up to look at yours now you had turned around, "No, dinner sounds good, yes. Thank you."

You didn't answer, instead scrolling up and down on the page for a minute as you tried not to take his response too personally. It had been a while since you and Frankie were able to go out for dinner just the two of you, finding it more difficult to get some alone time since the new baby came along and you now had the two girls, so you thought he would like the idea of a romantic dinner alone.

You could hear Frankie's footsteps pad across the kitchen floor until he was leaning against the counter next to you. Avoiding his gaze as he crossed his arms over his chest, mimicking the way his ankles were now crossed over one another, you filled in the booking information before closing the laptop. Without looking at him you turned in the chair to stand but Frankie's hand fell on your wrist stopping you.

"Hey," his voice was soft, "I do want to go out for dinner with you and thank you for booking the place that I like, I just-." Frankie sighed and let you wrist go before dragging his hand down his face as he let his eyes drop to the floor, "I'm just not looking forward to this birthday. I'm in my late forties now!"

"I think you're still mid-forties."

"So much better," he rolled his eyes.

"So you're not looking forward to your birthday because... you're going to be a year older? Forty-six years and thats you just realising how birthdays work?"

"It's not funny."

"I'm not laughing, I'm wondering why that's upsetting you. Whether or not you're looking forward to it you can't stop it."

"You'll make fun of me if I tell you why," his foot was swinging out in front of him before crossing it back over the other again.

"Maybe, but we've been married for six years so I think I'm allowed to make fun of you."

A smile was tugging at the corner of Frankie's lips when he finally looked up to you, his head leaning slightly to the side as he met your eyes. Frankie loved everything about you but he especially loved how relaxed you made him feel. Even though he wasn't in a good mood when you started talking birthday plans, instead of giving in to it you pulled him back from it. You had done it ever since you met him. Frankie could tell you, and has told you, his deepest, darkest secrets and fears and you don't shy away. You don't pull him further into the darkness; you just listen and make him feel comfortable until you help him out the other side.

"I know there isn't a bigger gap between us now that there had been when we first started dating because thats not possible but it just feels bigger now? Like, you're still able to keep up with Sofia when she runs rings around us even after you've been up all night with the baby. You don't have to hold the menu back to read it more clearly when we got out for dinner. You don't have to think about having a sore back for a week if we fall asleep on the couch when watching a movie. You don't even fall asleep when watching movies at eight at night but somehow I do!"

You let his breathing settle a little before you pulled him to stand between your legs, resting your hands on his chest.

"Is it about all these small things or is there something bigger to it?"

You tilted your head to catch his gaze as Frankie's eyes fell to the floor again, stopping him with two fingers under his chin and lifting his eyes to meet yours.

"I just worry that you don't want to be with an old guy like me," he sighed, his hands resting on your thighs.

"I'll have you know that I love that your an old guy. I fall more in love with you every day as you get older. I love that you run around enough with Sofia until you're tired because you don't want to stop. I think you're cute when you have to squint at the menu because you're too stubborn to get glasses, even though I think you would look very handsome in them. And I like giving you back massages when it gets sore because its just an excuse to get my hands on your very sexy, super hot, handsome DILF self."

Frankie barked a laugh, his forehead falling against yours as his hands reached up to cup your face.

"I love you so much, you know that."

"I do, and I love you."

His lips found yours, pressing a soft kiss to them. Just as his mouth opened to push his tongue into yours the sound of tiny footsteps running into the kitchen pulled you both away.

"Mama, Papa!" the voice cheered as Frankie leaned down to swing Sofia up, groaning as he did so.

None of what you had said to Frankie was a lie. You truly did love him more and more every day.

As time went on it had been kind to Frankie. He had fought off his demons for the most part, nightmares only sneaking in every so often, and it showed. He carried a lightness with him, not being weighed down by his past anymore. His eyes crinkle at the side when he smiles, which he does more now than ever. His face has filled out a little more in a healthy way. His jaw is also covered in a patchy beard that now has spots of grey that you love the most even if Frankie doesn't believe you.

❀❀❀

You let Frankie lie in on the morning of his birthday, getting the girls up and ready so you could have a lazy breakfast together before you dropped them at their Gran's while you and Frankie go out for dinner. After sorting out a breakfast, having to start again after Sofia wanted to help and ended up spilling the batter over the countertop instead of in the pan, you carried it upstairs with the girls in tow.

Frankie was already waking up as you opened the door, his face lighting up with a wide grin when he spotted you balancing the baby in one arm and carefully carrying the tray in the other as Sofia carried bags of birthday presents.

"Happy birthday," you and Sofia chimed with a small gurgle coming from your side.

"My beautiful girls, thank you!"

Frankie lifted Sofia onto the bed with the presents, settling her into his side, before taking the tray of pancakes from your hands. Once it was safe on his lap he lifted his head, catching your lips in a kiss, before you sat across from him.

You managed to get through breakfast before Sofia had spoke about opening the presents again and once the tray was placed on the bedside table you got to opening the gifts. With baby girl back asleep and placed on Frankie's chest, Sofia pulled the paper off them more so than Frankie, handing him the opened presents as he thanked you all. Once all the presents that were on the bed were opened you leaned across and pulled another from your bedside.

"One more," you smiled knowingly and Frankie narrowed his eyes at you as you handed him the small bag.

He snaked his arm from around Sofia, holding baby girl close to his chest as he put his hand inside the bag and pulled out a hat.

"Oh a new hat, thanks babe I love-" he stopped when he read the front, looking at you with a grin on his face.

"What does it say?!" Sofia asked, pushing her head in front of her Dad's to see the cap he was holding.

"It says Old Guys Rule!" you exclaimed.

"Because Dad is old," Sofia flung her head back in a fake laugh that bellowed around the room.

"Is that right?" Frankie tickled her sides until she was giggling for real and her head was lying next to her sleeping sister's on Frankie's chest.

"Dad is old, but he's still cool isn't he?" you reached across and pulled Sofia onto your lap as she nodded.

"How does it look?" Frankie pulled it onto his head, a little wonky as he was only working with one hand with the other resting on the tiny body on his chest.

You and Sofia both put your thumbs up and you laughed.

"Four out of four thumbs up!"

"Thanks babe," he chuckled, lifting his hand to settle the cap a little tighter on his head.

"You're welcome, you look even more handsome today. Forty-six suits you," you winked and he smiled.

Yes, Frankie was getting older but he was becoming happier and healthier and you were falling more in love with him every single day.

A Storm of Surprises

AN: Alright here we go, more of everyone's favorite overprotective merman and mischievous tadpole. I hope you all like this chapter, after everything that has happened this past month I haven't really been confident in my writing and just have been struggling to actually write. But writing this made me happy again, so I hope it makes all of you happy as well. I hope you all have a great weekend and if you like this please consider LIKING/REBLOGGING because it really helps me out! Love you all!

Series Masterlist

Pairing: Merman!Din Djarin x Lighthouse Keeper!Reader

Words: 5k

Summary: Now that Grogu is awake and heeled, Din takes a trip. While he is gone you get a visitor and some news that you did not want.

Warnings: paranoid thoughts, slight description of panicked thoughts, din and reader still pinning after each other and being idiots about their feelings, Grogu is a little shit, Edna is back my dudes, mainly just fluff and worry :)

A Storm Of Surprises

With Grogu now awake not much had changed. Well, that was kind of a lie. While the little tadpole was cute, he also liked to cause havoc around your living space. It was hard keeping on top of him, and you felt for Din because while Din had to drag around his lower half with only his arms to carry him, his son had tiny feet he could run around on. It was very obvious that Din tried to keep up with the kid, tried to keep him from getting into things, but there really wasn’t much he could do to stop him. The night after he had woken up when you had walked into your kitchen, you had found all of your pots and pans scattered around the floor, all of your lower cabinets wide open, and a very defeated and tired Din laying on his back in the middle of the floor with a content Grogu on his chest nibbling on what looked like your one measuring spoons. You couldn’t hold back the shocked and amused laugh that echoed throughout the kitchen and caused Din to slowly turn his head and look at you apologetically. Still giggling, with a large smile, you walked over next to where Din lay and sat next to him and asked softly, “What in the name of the seven seas happened in here? A mini hurricane?”

Din only flopped his head back with a heavy, remorseful sigh and very tiredly said, “I tried to stop him, but Grogu is more built for land than I am, cyare I am sorry. I will help clean up I promise….. I just need a second first.”

Giggling again, you place a friendly hand on his shoulder, ignoring the tiny shocks of warmth that spread through your hand from the gentle touch. “Rest Din, you have obviously had a much more tiring day than I have.”

“Cyare-”

“Nope, no arguing, or you won’t get to try the cheddar biscuits I am making tonight with the chicken noodle soup,” as you interrupted Din and said this, he turned to with pouting eyes and a heavy sigh. You kept smiling, but when your eyes met his, things seemed to stop for a second, and your chest warmed with the happiness, and no worries you felt at that moment. And even though your entire kitchen was a mess, you were happy and entranced in Din’s warm, soulful brown eyes, and you wished more than anything to just pause and stay in that moment for as long as possible. But much too soon, you were shocked from your trance, when you felt something in your lap, and when you looked down you had found a smiling Grogu, clinking the metal spoons together. You could only grin down at him and give him a hug. And Din watched the two of you with a soft smile and his heart stuttering at just how right it looked for you to be holding Grogu in your arms.

After the incident with the kitchen, Grogu did calm down some and by the time an entire week had passed, you had found that he was fully healed. And while he had healed a lot faster than you thought possible, and even faster than Din had, you brushed it off, just assuming it was part of the reason Din had called him special. Just seeing the kid up and happy was enough, it warmed your heart everytime he shot you his wide grins or hurled himself at you the second you walked into a room. You also often heard Din’s voice chastising Grogu, with what often sounded like telling Grogu he could not follow up to the stairs where you worked.

You did try and find new things for Grogu to do while you worked, things that would keep him occupied until you were done with work and could chase him around. Through a bit of trial and error you did find that the little tadpole loved coloring, and after the first time giving him a stack of paper and a box of crayons you were surprised to walk down and find both Din and Grogu hunched over a sheet of paper coloring. Your heart almost exploded from how cute the sight had been. Though you did learn that pens and colored pencils were a bit safer to give Grogu because he tended to eat any crayon he had touched much to your displeasure.

Grogu also became overly attached to a small stuffed bear you had. It was one that you had since you were a baby and it was one thing you could never part with, but seeing the child curled up with it fast asleep on his father’s chest one night in the kitchen made you realize that you wouldn’t mind giving, or well sharing, it with the toddler. He often carried it around, and even thorough he was upset when you explained it to him, he never brought it into the water with him at night but would set it up on the chair you had pulled into there for yourself to sit. The kid had stolen your heart in a mear matter of a week and you knew you would do anything for the little one.

Which leads you to your current predicament. After you had gone to town last week you were getting more and more paranoid over what Empire Labs were doing. You knew that the boys were safe here as long as they were hidden inside of the stone and concrete walls of your lonely tower, but you were not naive enough to believe that the Labs would not go to any lengths to get into your home and search it. They had done it before, the company was nothing but bad news and they had taken out the only good company that had been forcefully pushing back on their terror of local wildlife, Alderaan Sunrises. Empire Labs might have well as shot the company with a large laser with how they decimated the company with lies that couldn’t be proven to be false, how they had targeted the heads of the company specifically, going after the Organa family until it was only the daughter left fighting back, even after the company had fallen. You personally still thought how Bail and Breha Organa had fallen ill was too convenient for Empire Labs to be a coincidence.

So if someone as strong, and prolific as the Organa family could be shot down, who were you to fight back. You worried and stressed over several different scenarios, each becoming more and more extreme and unrealistic, but the ‘what ifs’ would not leave your thoughts as you grew more attached to the little green terror and his caring and overprotective father. You tried to hide your worries, tried pushing them to the back of your mind as you worked, tried to plaster on smiles to keep Din at ease, but you were never good at hiding your worries. So one night, as the three of you sat in a circle on the kitchen floor, you and Din eating your dinner and as Grogu munching lazily on a chunk of garlic bread while babbling animatedly to the little bear stuff while rolling his tiny bath ball toy around, Din watched you, more intensely than normal before finally speaking up and grabbing your attention, “Cyare, tomorrow… tomorrow, would you take me to the coast?”

You jerked your head up in a panic, thoughts racing. Din wanted to leave, but you both had agreed that staying at the lighthouse would be safe until things calmed down, and things were very much not calmed down. In your panic the noodles you had just taken a bite of lost all taste and your mouth went dry as you swallowed them, as you turned your head to look back down at your plate, unable to make eye contact with his soft eyes while your heart screamed in your chest.

“Is there a reason you want to go?... I just... I don’t want to stop you, but are you sure it’s safe to leave,” you finally spoke up, still not making eye contact as you push your food around, shocked that your voice did come out steadier than you had thought it would. You heard Din clear his throat, and could see Grogu go running for his ball as it had rolled away from him and towards the bathroom, then you heard Din rumble quietly, “I just need to go do a few things, check on something. I promise I won’t be gone long, I promise cyare.”

You take a deep breath and set your fork down before looking up at him, and gave him a small smile, “Well, as long as you stay safe I don’t see why I should keep you.”

Obviously, that is what Din was hoping you would say because his face broke out into a smile, one just wide enough to tease the dimple he had and crinkle the lines by his eyes. Then, to lighten the mood he teased, saying, “I promise I won’t leave Grogu alone with you for too long, with Posiden’s luck he won’t drive you too crazy.”

That had you laughing and feeling a little better, knowing that if Din was going to leave the small child behind, he most definitely would not be gone long at all. So, instead, you smiled back at him, this one coming a bit easier, and some of the tightness loosening in your chest as you replied, “Well I guess tomorrow I will get to show him what I do all day upstairs. I know he has been dying to follow me up there.”

Din gave a bit of a pained smile and replied, “He will really enjoy that, but keep a close eye on him.”

“I will I promise, tomorrow I shouldn’t have much to do, so it’ll be more of just a tour.”

Din nodded with the small reassurance. After your chat, the rest of the night went smoothly, Grogu even going to sleep much quicker than usual, and after Din got settled in the tub and after you both said your goodnights you linger by the bathroom door for a minute longer than usual, taking in the sight of the father and son curled up in your bathtub and the warm brown eyes watching you leave.

In the morning you were awoken by Grogu crawling into your bed as you could hear Din’s frantic whisper yells for him to ‘get back here’ and ‘leave them alone’. You just smiled sleepily and gave Grogu a soft kiss on the forehead before whispering good morning to him. The child just giggled and bumped his forehead against yours, the same way he did with his father, before wiggling from your grasp. Getting the hint, you rolled out of your bed and scooped Grogu up in your arms. As you turned around, you found an exasperated Din, leaning against your doorway.

“I tried to stop him, but when I told him he was staying with you today, he just took off.”

You laughed and walked over to Din, smiling and saying, “It’s okay, I needed to be getting up anyway. But I am glad he’s so excited to spend time with me.”

Din smiled at you as you walked by him headed towards the kitchen, before slowly turning and following you. You made a simple breakfast, holding Grogu on your hip the entire time as he munched on a blueberry pop-tart. As you cooked and ate you talked with Din, and when the two of you were finally finished you solemnly looked up at him, biting your lip for a second before saying, “Are you sure you want to do this?”

Din nodded and straightened his back, trying to come off as confident as he said, “Yes, I am very sure, cyar’ika… and I promise I will be back before you even notice I have been gone.”

You sighed and looked into his eyes and the only thing you could think was, but I already miss you, but you shook your head and instead said, “Okay then, let’s get you to the water.”

Getting Din into the car and down to the flat rock was a lot easier than it had been that first night, and you thanked the gods for that, but at the same time, it hurt that he was leaving quicker than you had thought. You stood by as Din said goodbye to Grogu, bumping their foreheads together as they often did before Din handed the child to you. Only, once you had the child secured in your arms, Din grabbed onto your hand pulling on it until you met his gaze, it was nothing but earnest and soft as he pressed your hand to his forehead as well and said, “I will be back, I promise. Do not worry about me.”

Shaking your head, trying to hide the worry tears building in your visor, you smiled down at him and said, “I cannot make any promises,” Din gave a small huff as the corners of his mouth turned up, before he started lowering himself into the water, but then you stopped him, by calling out his name and saying, “Oh, before you go...it’s been driving me nuts, but your nicknames you’ve been calling me, what...what do they mean?”

Din only met your gaze, giving you a smile wide enough that you could see his dimple fully, an urge to press your lips against it filling you and shocking you so much you give a tiny gasp that Din did not notice, or did not acknowledge as he only said, “I will tell you when I return,” and then he was gone, having slipped underneath the water before you could even call after him. Grogu and you stayed there for a second, watching the water, before you took a deep breath and smiled down at the child and said, “Alright, ready to go see what I do all day?”

The kid only faltered for a second, continuing to watch the waves as they lapped at the rocks, the water quite calm today before he looks up at you and cooed as he grabbed your nose. Deciding to leave the car where it was, because it wasn’t really that long of a walk, the two you made it back to the lighthouse is only a few minutes. The entire time you were talking about all the things you do and what all instruments you used, trying to both distract Grogu and yourself from Din’s glaringly obvious absence.

Grogu loved when you climbed the stairs, halfway up wanting to be set down so he could climb them himself. His eagerness only made you smile, and when the two of you reached the top you cheered and told him he did so good as he looked up at you with glee. As you showed him around, pointing at and explaining all the different things you used, you were very pleasantly surprised that Grogu was very respectful and made sure not to touch anything, and only doing so when you told him he could. The only real-time he got ‘fussy’ was when he wanted you to pick him up so he could look at something closer, but overall he behaved himself so well that you were honestly surprised.

Walking around the instruments and explaining things had taken roughly half an hour, but with the added fifteen minutes it took for the two of you to slowly climb the stairs, it was nearing an hour since Din left, when you shower Grogu your favorite place to be while you worked. You made sure to pick him up and hold him close as you both stepped outside of the glass-enclosed lightbulb, Grogu’s eyes widening with a giant smile as he took in the horizon and the miles of ocean he could see from this height. You slowly walked around the full circle, pausing in spots to point out things that had caught your eye when you had been up there in the past, and pausing when Grogu pointed out at things you did not really recognize or notice but smiling and ‘conversing’ with him as he babbled excitedly. Then you made sure and took the time to show him how to use your binoculars, which he excitedly took and had you do several more laps around so he could look at everything possible.

But you were startled out of your content revelry, when you saw a car approaching the lighthouse, your heart doing a little pitter-patter in your chest as you told Grogu that it was time to go back downstairs. Panicking the entire way down, Grogu only kept smiling and babbling, reaching out and touching your cheek several times, as if he was trying to communicate with you, but you just weren’t understanding. When you were both finally, downstairs you were chewing on your lip thinking of where to hide Grogu, when the knock at your door echoed throughout the lower floor. Your breathing started speeding up, your mind racing, was it Empire Labs, were they here because they knew it was only you and Grogu, how was Din going to react when he came back and found that you weren’t able to protect his son and Grogu had been taken, was he going to hate you, if Din started hating you wouldn’t able to handle it, seeing a his eye turn cold on you would break you,r heart, you were just starting to fall for-

“Hun, you better open this door for this old woman, this pot is both heavy and hot and I am too old to be standing in this cold.”

You almost cried in relief when you heard Edna’s voice echo through your home. You quickly walked over and opened the door enough so that only half of you was showing, Grogu safely hidden behind the door, and you smiled at her and as you opened your mouth to say something, you were interrupted by Edna sliding through the door with a shiver and a large pot in her hands. “Didn’t see you at the market this week, so I brought you a few things, and even made you a nice meal, something my old friend loved and asked for repeatedly.”

Grogu looked up at you amused as the old woman weaseled her way into the kitchen placing the pot on your stove before turning and looking at your shocked form. “Oh, and I can’t stay long, but I made Marnie from the diner drive me because, well I sure as hell wasn’t gonna walk out here. You wait here with the little one and I will go get the bags for you.”

And she was gone just as quickly as she had entered, your mouth still opens from your attempts to reply. Your heart was slowly slowing down from the panic her unexpected visit had caused, but also you couldn’t help but smile as she rushed back in with several bags, more than even you usually return with, and she set them on the floor in front of the fridge. “Well darling, I am not gonna lie, I got you a little of everything and not only because I didn’t know what you would want,” Edna made direct eye contact with you, her eyes dark with worry, “Hun, I need you to stay here for the coming weeks. The Labs seem to have taken an interest in the town, and I believe specifically you. Those two dumbasses have been snooping around every nook and cranny the town has, and I worry for you and your friend….Speaking of which, I know for sure that is not him, his pet?”

You numbly shook your head and quickly whispered, “His son, the-”

“Nope, don’t tell me more, the more information I know the more difficult it will be to protect you. Is your friend here,” you shook your head, and Edna placed her hands on her hips sighing, “Well when he gets back don’t let him leave again. I have no doubt he will be back soon, their kind seems to have nine lives like cats, hard to kill they are, thank the maker. But don’t let him out of your sight, neither of them and if the Labs show up here, don’t let them in unless they have a warrant. It’ll buy you time to hide them away. Now I gotta go before Marnie gets impatient. If you need anything, I wrote my number on the back of the receipt, don’t hesitate to call!”

Then, in a whirlwind, Edna was gone, leaving with only a pat on Grogu’s head and a kiss on your cheek as she swept through the door. You were sure how long you stood there shell-shocked and going over everything Edna had told you. Empire Labs was sticking around town, this was only going to spell bad luck for you and your guests. Not only that, with them sticking around, and Din right now, you could only feel the worry start to creep back into your chest, but all trains of thought were thrown out when Grogu reached up and patted your cheek, before wiggling to be set down. So you sighed setting him down, and giving him a forced smile as you ran and grabbed some paper and colored pencils for him.

As Grogu colored, you put away everything Edna had brought, sighing heavily as you noticed just how overboard she had gone with everything. After placing the last box of dried noodles in your cabinet you felt Grogu tug on your pants and point to the door excitedly. Following his lead, and picking him up, you peeked outside the door and saw Din heaving himself onto the flat rock before turning back to the water to pull something else up.

You smiled widely at Grogu and said, “Come on, let’s go get your dad inside and then have some dinner, yeah?”

Excited, Grogu nodded and the two of you made your way down to where Din was sorting through a bag, one that seemed to be crafted from seaweed. When the two of you finally made it to Din, he smiled up at you, clearly feeling happy and proud over whatever he had brought back, but his excitement slowly tempted down when he saw your tense closed-lipped smile.

“What’s wrong, cyare?”

“I will tell you while I cook dinner….is, is the bag coming with us,” you said softly, trying to ease his worries some by softening your voice. Din looked at you for a second before nodding. You set Grogu on the ground, letting him run to his father, while you grabbed the bag and the two of them talked. You weren’t going to lie, the bag was heavy, and it smelled of fish, and you mourned for your trunk but you refused to leave it behind, especially if it had been important enough for Din to go and get it.

Once it was loaded though, you turned to find Din and Grogu waiting to be loaded into the car, so you helped them before pulling away from the shore and taking the few second drives to get Din as close to the door as possible. You could feel his eyes on you the entire time, and the tension seemed so thick and if you were honest, the range of emotions you had gone through today had made you exhausted, but you were trying to put on a face so you wouldn’t worry Din, knowing he was going to fly into protective mode the second you explained today’s events.

After pulling the two in and dragging Din’s bag into the corner of the kitchen he had asked you to, you silently went to work on dinner for the three of you as you listened to Dinpull things from his bag and whisper to Grogu as the child babbled on to him. You made a simple dinner, too tired to really try, so you really only made some boxed mac’n cheese, something you knew Grogu loved when you made it in the past.

You were completely shocked when you turned around though, finding Din with Grogu on his lap surrounded by a number of fish and a pile of things next to him. “What...what is all of this?”

“Well, cyare, you have been providing for us since we got here, so I went hunting so that I could return the favor….”

You just huffed out a shocked laugh before sliding to the floor. Din worriedly watched you taking in your reaction before you genuinely smiled at him and said, “Din, I….I don’t know what to say. This is amazing, thank you,” you laughed before you continued, “Gods, I only hope I have the freezer space for all of this.”

Din beamed at you proudly, and you quickly made plates of food for both him and Grogu, while you went about getting all of the fish, which Din had already cleaned and made ready for you, into your freezer. Miraculously each of the fish fit, but nothing else was going to be able to be added to your Tetris level of stacking. When you finished, you made your plate before slowly sinking against the floor beside Din. Din had already finished his plate, and Grogu had gotten halfway through his own before he had fallen asleep in his father’s arms.

You took your first few bites slowly, then you looked at Din with a sigh and said, “Well do you want the good news, the bad news, or do you just want a play-by-play of what happened today?”

“Just start from when I left.”

You nodded and took a few more bites before starting in. You told him about Grogu and how good he was for you all morning and pretty much all day. How excited and heartwarmingly cute he was as you showed him around your workspace. You told Din about how much he loved being at the top of the tower, watching the water, and using your binoculars. Then you sighed and told him about Edna, and what she had brought with her, both the news and the gifts, even reminding yourself that she had brought a pot of food that you had previously forgotten. Then you looked him in the eye, taking in how he was soaking in every word you were giving him before you spoke again. “Din…. Edna said that Empire Labs have continued poking around town, she thinks they are looking for you and Grogu… she said that we all need to just stay at the lighthouse until everything clears… until they leave. So, no more trips, I… I don’t want to risk it again with how close they are.”

Din nodded, not saying anything but laying his hand on top of yours where it sat on the floor, trying to be reassuring. Then he said, “Is there anything else, cyar’ika?”

You nodded and looked up into his eyes, giving him a determined look, “Yes… Din, if they come looking here, if they try and poke around, I promise I will do everything I can, everything in my power to protect both you and Grogu….”

Din searched your eyes, his jaw twitching slightly, then he said, “I know you will, but… I need you to promise me if it comes down to it, you will protect yourself. I will not have you getting harmed because of me.”

“I cannot make any promises,” you parroted your words from earlier with a smile, and Din only sighed before pushing the small pile of things he had beside him towards you with a soft pink glow on the tips of his ears and cheeks. “These are also for you, cyare.”

Grinning, you looked down. This pile was much small and seemed to honestly be just an assortment of, well everything. You found a few shells, the inside gleaming with mother of pearl, there was a bottle the top secured by a cork but it was filled with water looked like different colored sea glass and marbles, there was a necklace with a silver chain and what you believed to be a labradorite pendant shaped to look like a crescent moon, a ring that had a green stone inlaid in the soft gold medal, and lastly, a closed clamshell that Din slowly picked up and pried open carefully only to pull out the prettiest pearl, one roughly the size of a marble. You looked up at Din meeting his gaze, his eyes soft and search, expressing an emotion that neither of you quite knew what to call.

“Din… these are all amazing, I love them all, but… are you sure you want me to have them?”

Din slowly reached for the necklace, struggling to clasp it on your neck for a few seconds, before he got it and sliding the ring onto your right pointer finger, honestly surprising you with how easily it fit, before he said, “There is no one else, on land or in the seas, that I would want to have these. You have shown me and my son great kindnesses, and continue to do so at your own expense, these are my way of showing my appreciation.”

You smiled at him, looking up and noticing Din had still yet to move back, his face so close you could feel his soft breaths, and you said, “Thank you, I will treasure these for the rest of my life.”

Din grinned and then pressed his forehead to your own staying there only for a second, before pulling back and saying, “You should head to bed, cyare, you have had a long day.”

You nodded and reluctantly pulled away from him and stood up. You collected your gifts and asked if he needed help getting to the bathroom, but he just told you to go. Nodding, you left, going into your room and delicately setting the gifts along the small desk you had before changing into your pajamas and climbing into bed. It didn’t take you long to get comfortable and didn’t take you long to start to fall asleep. But the last thing that ran through your head before you let sleep overcome you was, That shit head didn’t tell me what cyare or cyar’ika meant.

It had taken you hours, but you had finally gotten the Child settled into bed. He'd been an absolute terror today. Refuseing to eat his meals, he always preferred when Din fed him. He threw a fit when you tried to give him a bath, wailing and climbing up you when you tried to set him into the warm water, Din always knew how to get him in the tub with no problem. Tucking him into bed, forget it. He kept sneaking out whenever you turned your back. You knew why he was so fussy, Din had been gone for two days from the Crest. A bounty was offered to him by Greef Karga, far too lucrative to ignore, he said he'd be back as soon as possible. You knew better than to worry, but still, a twist always formed in your gut when you looked out the hatch and didn't see him makeing his way home on his speeder.

You settled down into the cot, the lights dimmed, a night of restless sleep ahead of you. Nothing but the soft breath of The Child, and the hum of the Crest to keep you company. You almost drifted off to sleep, but the hiss of the hatch opening startled you awake. Your heart jumped to your throat as you reached for the blaster you kept under the cot, ready to face the intruder despite how much you were shaking. The booted footsteps of two people echoed through the hull, men you could only assume, you were ready to scramble over to a hiding spot until you heard the distinct laugh of Karga.

Your shoulders dropped, you felt dizzy as your adrenaline fell, but the relief you felt out weighed any discomfort. You sank onto your knees on the cot, putting the blaster back under the cot.As they made their way into the hull, you suddenly remembered you had stripped down to your thin silken underdress. You wrapped your blanket around yourself to hide the sheer fabric from your guests eyes.

You let out a gasp as they rounded the corner. Greef was struggling to walk as he bared the beskar covered weight of Din. Greef had one of Dins arms braced across his shoulders while he held onto Dins waist. Din's helmet covered head lolling from side to side, his feet practically dragging, his body leaning to the side like he was about to fall over, incoherent mumbling coming through his modulater. Karga laughed and patted his back.

"You've arrived my friend." He noticed you in the bed,"oh, please excuse us, we didn't mean to wake you."

You scrambled from the cot, not careing about how sheer you shift was. You rushed to Din, your hands settling on his helmet, trying to keep his head up.

"Maker! What happened? Is he hurt?" You asked Karga frantically,"Din? Mando? Are you alright?"

"He's fine, he's fine." Karga assured, as he slowy helped Din stand on his own," we were just celebrating! The biggest bounty he's ever acquired, in the shortest time too!" He pat Dins shoulder, the sudden impact makeing Din lean into you. You let out a squeak of suprise from how heavy he was. Karga swore and apologized again as he helped Din stand up right.

"So...he's-"

"Drunk!" Karga laughed,"and he deserves it, that bounty can buy you both a new ship. Hell it could buy you a palace. He'd never have to work again if he wanted. Course we know that won't happen."

"How did he get drunk?" You asked,"He can't drink anything with his helmet on."

"Thats where you're wrong," Mando said, his voice slurred and slow, his head lolling to the side,"I can.....jus need a really....really...really long straw."

"Oh Din." You sigh.

Din suddenly gripped Kargas jacket pulling him up to him.

"L-look at her..." Din slurred through the modulator as he gazed at you," She's so...pretty." he says,"have you ever seen anyone so pretty?" Karga just laughed but was cut off when Din shook him, "Well HAVE YOU?" he snapped.

"No, can't say I have Din." Karga reassured, patting his hand,"You're a very lucky man."

You felt your face grow warm at the complement. You dipped your head and made your way to help take off Dins jetpack.

"I am lucky," he mummered," prettiest girl on the whole galaxy...on my ship...caring for my son." You heard a faint sniffle from him as you set the heavy pack on the ground.

"Its ok,Din." You say softly, placing your hand on his chest plate. He rested his leather clad hand over yours as he looked down at you."Thank you for bringing him back to me in one piece," you said to Karga,"I can take it from here."

Karag nodded and said his good bye, slapping Din on the back before leaving, the hatch shutting with a loud thud.

You looked up to Din, his gaze burning through his visor down to you as he slightly wobbled. Suddenly he lunged forward, his helmet smacked against your face, making it sting. His hands gripping your ass , kneeding it harshly.

"Ow! Din!," you cried, he rubbed his helmet against your face as you gripped his armored shoulders,"what are you doing?" You half laughed.

"Kissing you." He mumbled,"I just wanna kiss you."

You laughed,"Din-"

"Im gonn buy you all the jewels-"

"You know I dont need those-"

"Furs-"

"Din," you coo, carressing his helmet.

"A home."

"That I'd love," you sigh wrapping your arms around his neck as he rests his helmet against your shoulder,"you and me and the Child, in a cozy little home-"

"Gonna fill it with warriors," he mumbled,"a new one..... every year."

You laughed,"thats a lot of babies, Din."

"And I wanna give them to you."

"Alright, you need to sleep." You grin as you try to nudge him off you.

He takes a deep breath and stands up straight.

"I'm going to kiss you." He declared as he wobbled.

"Oh? Where?" You tease as you tried to pull him towards the cot.

"Right here, right now!" He said as if it were a threat.

"No, where do you want to kiss me, Din?"

He raised his hand and tapped his gloves finger against your forehead.

"Here..." he gently gave your cheek a tap,"Here..." he ran his thumb over your lips, "Here." He nearly growled, his chest risieng and falling as his breath got heavier.

He ran his finger over your chin, down your neck,"Here," he sighed, continuing down your chest, makeing his way between your breasts,"Here. Def...definitely here." He shuddered, "I want to kiss you here so bad." He groaned, and ran his large hand smoothly down your stomach,"here." his voice a near shudder as he reached down to your core,"but this...I want to kiss this. I'll take off all my armor, and forsake the Creed, just for the chance to kiss you here."

You took his hand from between your thighs and placed it onto your chest.

"You would?" You smile.

"What?" He snapped,"dont believe me?" He challenged.

You only smiled wider as he ripped his hand away from you.

"I'll do it!"he threatened, you crossed your arms over your chest, brow raised in a challenge. He grabbed his helmet and lifted it off, spiking it onto the soft cot."See! I did it!"

His hair was as unkempt as ever, his deep brown eyes wide and bloodshot as he looked down at you. You stepped forward, and carresed his stubble and scared covered cheeks, and kissed him. Your lips gentle against his as you softly peppered his lips and cheeks with kisses. He was frozen against you, his arms limp at his sides.

"Oh Maker, I just broke the Creed-" he whispered.

You nuzzled against his cheek, running your finger down the bridge of his sharp nose.

"Din...we made our Riduurok four months ago."you whispered. He stumbled back his eyes wide, as he swallowed hard.

"You, you mean...you're my...my..."

"Wow, Din, you are drunk. You need to get into bed." You ordered as you nudged him to the cot making him sit. His mouth hung open as you took off his armor and weapons, genlty setting them to the side.

"You married me?" He nearly wimpered, you placed a kiss to the top of his head.

"Yes Din." You said gently as you took his armor, various weapons and helmet and placed it on a nearby table.

"Really?" He sniffed, you looked back and saw him on the verge of tears.

"Oh, Din," you sigh as you stand between his spread legs, pulling his head to your stomach as you ran your hand through his unkempt hair"yes, really."

"You married me?" He asked as he buried his face into you, his voice muffled,"you're my Riddur?"

You laugh softly," yes, kar'ta."

He sniffed loudly before looking up at you, his eyes brimming with tears. "Really? Like, really really?"

You leaned down and nuzzled his face,"your the only man I'd ever marry my brave, handsome, fiercesome, warrior." You kissed him again.

He stood suddenly, and wiped away a stray tear that slid down his face before a stern look came over him. He cleared his throat.

"I need to give you warriors."

"Cyar-"

He ripped off one of his gloves and tried to undo his flight suit while moving to kneel on the bed,"right now!"

"Baby-"

"Jus- jus lay down, I'll do all the work,"He pulled you down on to the bed as you laughed at his clumsy attempt to disrobe, one arm and half his torso out of his suit.

"Gotta do my duty, fill your belly, with...with my..."he grumbled as he struggled to undo his belt,"seed, DAMN THIS THING!"

You grabbed his hands to stop him, "Din, you've already filled my belly with a warrior, remember, we made our baby after we said the vows."

He slumped down, and blinked, as he sat stunned. You took advantage of his state and nudged him till he layed flat on his back. His eyes staring up at you. He reached up and carresed you're cheek.

"I love you, Mesh'la." He said.

"I know." You sighed,"I love you too my feirce warrior."

"I hope our baby looks like you." He says as you try to roll him onto his side.

"I hope our baby is as brave as you."

"No. You're the brave one," he mumbled into his pillow,"the pretty one, the strong one, with an ass that brings me to ruin."

You had to cover your mouth to keep from busting out laughing. "Go to sleep darling."

"But I wanna look at you." His voice muffled from the pillow.

"You can look at me all you want tomorrow."

"But I wanna look at you now!" He whined.

You sighed and rolled him over to his other side until you were met with his drunk grinning face.

"You're so pretty." He slurred, his still gloved hands grabbing your hip,"c'mere." He urged you down.

You nestled down next to him, his eyes slowly shutting, his hand rubbing your side.

"Look at you," he slurred,"so sweet, so soft...so...so beautiful." His brows furrowd suddenly,"wait..I can't see you! Why can't I see you!?"

"Din open your eyes."

His eyes snapped open, a slap happy grin spreading across his face, "Oh Maker, you're so clever," His hand left your side and landed on your cheek a little harsher than he intended,"how did I find you?"

"I was a bounty remember?"

He was quiet for a moment,"oh yeah....I'm so glad you're a criminal."

"Can you go to sleep for me Din?"

"Can I use your tits as a pillow?"

Before you could respond he was already pushing you onto your back, his face buried into your chest. You sighed and were about to push him off of you but the sound of him snoring stopped you. He was asleep, you were ready to try to drift off into uncomfortable sleep when you heard a coo by your side.

Looking down you were met with the wide sleepy eyes of The Child standing by the bed, his ears perked up with a tiny smile on his face. He climbed up onto the bed and over you, nestling in the small space between you and Din, his little face nuzlleing into your belly.

You groaned, it was going to be a long night.

My advice to people, but especially kids, who are invested in celebrities, be they actors, musicians, bloggers, youtubers, authors, whatever, is to keep your distance. No matter how happy their content makes you, no matter how strong the pull of a special interest/hyperfixation/obsession might be, it’s important to step back every so often.

Do you find yourself following them on all forms of social media? Do you follow their friends and family, who might not even make content themselves? Do you research their lives? Step back. Just because they are famous doesn’t mean it’s okay to engage in stalking behavior.

Do you find yourself getting anxious if you miss a video, or they upload off schedule? Step back. I know they can help you through dark times but you can’t rely on them all the time.

Would you be devastated if they turned out to be a not-so-nice person? Step back. You can only trust them as much as you trust any stranger. Don’t see yourself up to be shattered if they fall off that pedestal you put them on.

No matter how much somebody interacts with their audience, the relationship is still parasocial. Just keep that in mind. Don’t put all your trust in a stranger. It’s okay to enjoy these people and their content, but keep your distance and step back.

Burnt out // Rex x Reader

For the person who requested the breakup imagine, Tumblr ate your request:

Rex x Fem!Reader

Trigger Warning: Breakup

“We were a perfect match. Maybe that’s why we burned out.”

It started subtly. Rex didn’t call or message as much when he was away. Whereas he used to call every chance he got, you were now lucky to receive a short message saying, “sorry can’t talk, I’m ok.”

No, ‘see you soon’ or ‘I love you’ attached, but you brushed it off thinking, maybe it’s just a long mission or he’s just really busy. Then it leaked into his mannerisms when he was home, he would spend more time are the barracks and fewer times with you. When he was with you, it was awkward and tense. Comfortable silences were replaced with tense ones. Little things that used to seem cute to him, now left him frustrated or annoyed. He used to love how you hummed while you cleaned and how your feet shuffled when you woke up. Now, instead of small smiles, you were met with:

“(Y/N), I’m sorry, but I could really use some quiet.” and “Pick up your feet, the entire building can hear you.”

So, you made the adjustments, no realizing how you stopped feeling completely comfortable around him. And then you realized, the same thing was happening to you. You used to think it was adorable how he stole blankets, and how he didn’t help with dishes because he never learned how. Now, it drove you up the wall.  This was how you felt on first dates and when you have important house guests, not how you should feel around the person who you were in love with. Sometimes, it seemed like y’all would argue about nothing. Nights of snippy comments because someone left the light on. When you kissed him goodbye, he didn’t kiss back. Honestly, you didn’t know what happened to the two of you, but nevertheless, you waited for it to blow over.

Then, one fateful night, in an effort to not spend another tense night on the couch, not actually watching the news, y’all agreed to go to 79′s with the rest of the 501st. That’s when it made sense.

The two of you walked in, and when you looked up at him, he had that look of awe that he used to reserve only for you. But now, you watched him throw it across the room at an all too familiar togruta. That’s when you understood. He had fallen in love with someone else, and out of love with you. You spent the entire night deep in unhappy thought, but Rex never noticed- only occasionally ordering you more drinks, not noticing the four other still full glasses in front of you. He was too busy laughing at Ahsoka’s jokes. And God bless, you tried to hate her, but she was so nice and amazing, it was impossible to be mad at her. And it was hard to be mad at Rex for falling for her.  So now you were sitting in a booth, just sad.

Finally, you had enough and you asked Fives and Echo to let you out of the booth. They both flashed you looks of concern, but you gave them a small smile of reassurance. You were almost out of the door when Rex finally noticed you left.

“She looked upset- you might wanna check up on her.” Echo suggested, watching the Captain crane his neck around to look for you. “She headed towards the door.”

“Yeah, Yeah, I’ll do that.” With that, he squeezed out of the booth and went out to find you. You were already a block away when he caught up with you.

“(Y/N), what’s wrong, you left by yourself?” He asked, but made no move to grab your hand or hug you like he once might have. You sighed and crossed your arms, putting on a brave face.

“Surprised you noticed. That you came.” You shrugged, it wasn’t snappy or accusatory, but just defeated. Rex knew what was coming.

“Of course, I came. (Y/N), what’s this about?” He was already puffing up for a fight, but you had left the ring a few hours ago.

“Rex you’re not in love with me anymore. It’s obvious. And it’s ok, but please tell me so I can find someone who does love me like you did.” It came out as a plea, and Rex realized what you meant. His muscles tensed up defensively.

“That’s not fair, (Y/N).” Was all he said, he eyes weren’t soft like usual. You shook your head and gave him a stare just as hard.

“No. It’s completely fair.” You started, arms unfolding from your chest do gesture wildly, “Rex, if you’re still completely in love with me- like you were in the beginning- then please, help me work this out. But if not, then it’s unfair for both of us.”

Where there were once soft words and promises of forever, there were crossed arms, harsh words, and shattered promises. Rex knew this and only admitted it by letting his gaze drop to the ground.

“I’m sorry.” It was soft and sincere and for the first time in a while, he actually looked sad to see you go. You just nodded, praying the tears would stay in until you were gone.

“Ok then,” You paused and sniffled, Rex knew it wasn’t his place to wrap his arms around you anymore, but he always hated seeing you cry, “Take care of yourself, Rex.”

Rex watched you walk away for the last time, and just like that, it was over.

Two months later:

You spent quite a few weeks crying over him, but eventually, things got easier. Fives and Echo were the only ones who kept in touch with you, and they checked up on you, but you never saw Rex again. Soon, You started going on dates, or more accurately your best friends forced you on dates. Some of them were ok, and some of them were hilariously bad, but no one was quite like Rex. But you kept going on, and eventually, life was close to normal again- even if your apartment was quieter and colder than it once was.

But occasionally, you would run into some of the older members of the 501st. You would flash a friendly smile and wave, but turn around and walk the other way to avoid an awkward conversation. They would wave back, remembering when their captain was so in love with you that he couldn’t think straight. Then, you realized when you lost Rex, you also lost a lot of amazing friends. Soon inside jokes turned into awkward waves and those turned into pretending you didn’t see them.

And even worse, occasionally you’d catch a glimpse of someone who looked strikingly like Rex and your heart would stop. Then you would realize, this trooper had green armor and a similar haircut. But that didn’t stop the memories of love and laughter of the good times when you felt more love from a man worlds away, but it also tore open the wounds of the bad times, when you felt the loneliest when he was lying right beside you.

After the war:

It might have seemed dramatic, but four months after the breakup, you decided to move. You chose one of the more developed planets in the outer rim and found work rather easily. No more Rex, no more memories, a fresh start, and it went well.

But even then, when the war was over and the Empire rose from its ashes, rumors of the Jedi and the clones swirled and demanded to be heard- even in the outer rim. And every now and then, you couldn’t help but wonder what did happen to Rex, because somewhere in your heart you still loved him and always would.
