“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul; both firm and secure.”
Hebrews 6:19
“The Archer And The Beast.”
An ode to a life long pain and struggle–and my way of dealing with it.
If you take one thing from this silly comic, take this; have hope, you don’t need evidence to have hope. Be yourself unapologetically.
And to those physically ill like I am, I know this is horrible, I know you never feel okay, but you are so strong, so, so, so, so, strong. Your illness and everyone else should fear you.
But be gentle, no matter what you’re going through, as there’s a beast of emotional recovery waiting inside of you, accept him and ask for help, ask for someone else to get you icepacks, ask for someone to tell you they love you, ask for something from god, if you believe in it, help someone else, be an anchor.
Be the anchor you need.

Fingers crossed, people.
im so ready to be in a relationship so whenever the universe is ready hmu with a keeper
How are you feeling right now? What emotion are you choosing to carry? Where are you tense?
Take a second. Breathe. Please breathe.
Relax where you’re tense. Inhale deeply and exhale forcefully to help relieve that tension.
Inhale again, breathing in positivity. Exhale again as strong as you can and push out all of that negativity.
Repeat as needed.
I love you. I love that you’re magic and your body is magic and that you can do this. I hope it helps. I support you. 💜

THIS
Me: I can get so much done in four minutes. It’ll pass so fast!
Me: *Proceeds to end world hunger, end climate change, finish a 4 year degree and adopt a puppy.*
Me: What the actual shitting fuck.
Confession: I used to belong to trump culture.
Not entirely willingly, mind. I was young, religious, and I made the naïve mistake in thinking that all Christians were like the ones I had encountered at my home church: warm, tolerant, kind. I fell in love, and we did what young, hormonal Christian teenagers did: rushed into a marriage.
I realized my mistake almost immediately, but it took far too long to get out.
Personally, I endured abuse at the hands of my new husband—mental, physical, sexual, economic, emotional. You name it, he did it. Brutal is an understatement. He systematically broke me down until I was a shell of a human being. I’m still dealing with the emotional fallout and physical side effects, and I probably will be for another decade at least.
That’s personally, but let’s talk his family. Because he was an extreme case, yes, but he was raised with the idea that women existed to keep their mouths shut and their legs open. I spit out two children faster than I could whip my head, because birth control wasn’t part of god’s grand plan for my life. I was fulfilling my purpose as a mother, and wasn’t that great? My husband didn’t want the first baby. He wanted me for himself, see? Abortion was unthinkable, but he fully expected to carry a baby—my baby—to term, then give it away.
Keeping him was my first rebellion. Keeping the next one was my second.
In the time I belonged to that family, I watched my mother-in-law endure the same, though less extreme mistreatment. I watched every young female family member be groped by the family patriarch. “That’s just how it is.” I was shamed for making a fuss about it. I watched an older cousin try to sexually assault my teenage sister-in-law and she was the one who felt ashamed. We women made family dinners while the men sat on their asses. My husband and I lived with his parents for a short time. She and I would go to work each morning—an hour each way—with our husbands sitting in their robes in the living room, playing video games. When we returned hours later, weary, exhausted, they hadn’t moved. The standard greeting? “What’s for dinner.”
That’s his family, and yes, some families are sexist, but let’s talk about church. That’s where all of this is validated, encouraged, taught. Imagine my shock, when I went to my new husbands’ family church and encountered muted xenophobia and racism, a heavy dose of homophobia, and some damned overt sexism (see above.)
Equal roles, but different. Sound familiar? This is still being taught to little girls today.
In church, I listened with quiet disgust as pastors preached about how awful my sister—one of the gays—was. I piped up and asked how that sexual sin was any different than the two young church kids who’d just been caught “in a bad way”, soon to expect their first baby. Sexual sin is sexual sin, isn’t it? I sure did get an earful for that one. We did church boycotts: Disney, Target. Every Sunday School class: Job, cookies, and lets pray God saves the moos-lims before they all come over and blow us up. We revered people with white savior complexes who went to be jesus’s hands and feet and save the poor, helpless Africans.
Hate and ignorance, wrapped up in the holy Scripture. Hallelujah.
Meanwhile, I endured this abuse. This abuse, and every door slammed in my face as my husband hit me, tortured me. “Stay true to your vows,” the pastor would say. “You have communication issues,” our sister-in-law would tell us. My mother-in-law: “Linds, you just have to accept it. Love is a choice.”
“But what about the part where it says that husbands are to love their wives like Christ loves the church?” I asked.
My brother in law, joking: “This is why women aren’t supposed to speak in church.”
This America is alive and kicking, kids. It’s never gone away; it’s just been lurking, behind closed doors. “Pass the casual racism and meat loaf, would you? And get me a glass of water while you’re up. Ketchup, too.” What I’m scared about, truly, is that I know this. And these ideas are now validated. Now mainstream. Almost 50% of our population believes this is a good idea.
“It’s our time to take America back.”
What in the hell, if they’ve been saying these things behind closed doors, and if they believe them In The Name Of God—what in the hell are they going to say in the open, now? What in the hell are they going to do?
The 50s are revered as the aspirational yester-year, days gone by. Progress, as we call it, is godlessness to them. We, the godless libs, took Jesus out of schools. We’ve gone wrong ever since.
This is the America people want back, and that’s my first fear.
The second is this:
I got out. And I’m terrified that this, my success story, won’t happen anymore.
I’m the rare statistic. I un-brainwashed and educated myself. I got counseling (against every Christian advice) to treat severe post-partum depression. In the process of becoming a healthier person, I realized what a goddamn mess I was.
It took three tries and a pastor-pseudo-therapist legitimately telling me, “You know if he hits you again, Linds, I’m going to have to tell you to leave.”
All regretful, like it was bad news.
“Why should I stick around and wait for it to happen again?” I asked.
He didn’t have an answer. I left the next week.
It took a few boldfaced lies (it’s temporary, it’s just a separation), and a few miracles, and a large support system of family and friends who all but plucked me out of that hell.
For leaving? My price was excommunication. From his family, our friends, our church. I am the heathen who Divorced my Husband and broke our home. In that entire city, only three people talk to me now.
(No loss, but it took a long time to recognize that.)
I never, ever would have made it on my own. I had two small children, a new job that barely paid a living wage, and I was, as I’ve said, a shell of a human being. I left him and went straight to the human services office. Without subsidized childcare, healthcare, and food supplements, we would have starved or been homeless. It never would have been possible.
These are the services that will probably be cut first.
How will anyone in my situation ever be able to leave? They won’t. Not to mention federal funding for shelters, crisis counseling for families, healthcare for abused women, and legal services for domestic violence victims. Throw in a court system that doesn’t value women, and a cultural mentality that believes what happens behind closed doors should stay behind closed doors… What hope do abused, trapped women have? None in hell.
If this is what makes America great again, I want out. I’ve been there, done that, and I’m never, ever doing it again.
You’ll take it back over my cold, lifeless body.
Same thing happened to me, I am not a witch but I am still studying to become one and last week this guy just said some stuff he should have kept secret, not bad stuff but still a series of embarrassing things. I silently targeted him with thoughts in my mind but I expected nothing. The same day he had a huge nosebleed and shut his hand in a metal door, resulting in two cuts and two broken bones.
Is it possible that I cursed someone just by intent? I was planning on cursing this one girl but I haven't done anything yet and it turned out she went to hospital today because she felt ill in the morning
I would say that it’s technically possible but very very very unlikely. I want to give you a better more specific explanation but I’m having trouble putting my thoughts into words. It’s sort of more like getting a wish than casting a spell, if that makes sense?
i was at a protest today in support of the palestinian great march of return. a woman from gaza spoke about growing up under israeli occupation and the importance of standing in solidarity with the people marching there today. literally only 20 minutes after she spoke she found out that one of her childhood friends in gaza, a journalist who was at the march, was just murdered by the idf. we all took a moment of silence for him while the jdl marched around the protest with israeli flags, chanting in support of the idf who had just murdered this womans friend. and like honestly its beyond me how anyone could still try to frame the conflict as “equally bad/violent on both sides” or support the israeli state and the idf as they murder innocent people or do anything but give unwavering support for palestinians & palestinian liberation

“Never to let this lose me grace But rather bring you back to me: Amongst all mortal women the one I most wish to see.” -Sappho’s “Ode to Gongyla”
The suffix “-mancy” comes from Ancient Greek «μαντεία»(“divination”), coming from either «μάγος»(“mage”, from Persian “al-Maguś” which refers to a Mede tribe known as Mages) or «μαίνειν», “to delirate”, with regards to the divine possession which took part within the oracles: this was called «ενθουσιασμός», (from the preposition εν meaning “inside” and θεός, “god”). In fact, as Cicero said in his work De divinatione, expressing it not as his thought but the opinion of mages, “Si di sunt, est divinatio; sunt autem di, est ergo divinatio.”(II, 41). Oh, and the suffix -kinesis comes from κίνησις meaning “movement”, and the word “cinematography” comes from that, too!
Aries: Runecasting, viking practice used, similarly to Tarots, for predicting a likely outcome by examining cause and effect of a situation. The word rune comes from Nordic raunen, meaning to whisper.
Taurus: Haruspicy, the inspection of the entrails, a practice that came to Rome from the Etruscan civilization; an example of instrument used is the Liver of Piacenza (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Piacenza_Bronzeleber.jpg), and the term comes from Archaic Latin haru, meaning entrails and the root “spec-“, to observe.
Gemini: Crystal ball reading, used by Druids who would partake in it with beryl balls. It was also used during the Roman Empire and the Middle Ages (hey, one was even found in King Childeric 1st’s tomb!). Used to acquire symbolical visions of the present or future.
Cancer: Phyllorhodomancy, a method consisting in taking omens from rose leaves and rose petals. It was common in Ancient Greece to smack a rose’s petals against the hand and observe how loud the sound was, but in the 18th and 19th century it was also really common to pluck the rose on Midsummer’s Eve, wrap it in white paper and hide it until someone, who was then bound to marry the person, found it.
Leo: Solaromancy, an oriental type of divination consisting in the observation of the sun’s rays and its movement to understand possible important events in the future.
Virgo: Tarots, their ancestors were said to be wooden tablets found around 1st century AD in Palestine, and in ancient populations from the Near East these symbols were drawn on the walls of a temple’s room, where men who came to know their fate would spin around themselves until the dizziness made them fall in front of the chosen symbol. Widely spread and used for their rich details and quasi-infinite correspondences.
Libra: Cheiromancy, consisting in the reading of one’s lines of the palm in order to foretell. Bumps are also examined and the dominant hand is usually seen first, as the second one is thought to represent past life and the karmic consequences.
There are four types of hands corresponding to the four elements, and in Greek mythology for example every part of the hand is associated to a divinity (such as Apollo to the ring finger). The first witnesses of cheiromancy come from the Hindu sage Valmiki, whose teachings spread across the Mediterranean.
Scorpio: Necromancy, the art of calling the deceased from the otherworld to receive answers to one’s questions. In the Bible’s Book of Deuteronomy, for example, King Saul asks the Witch of Endor to summon Samuel’s spirit, who will foretell great and imminent destructions. The Caldaeans were also known for their practices and so the Mages, feared by the Arians. The Roman author Lucan also mentions the story of Erychtho, a famous Thessalian sorceress who foresaw the Battle of Pharsalus’ outcome. In the Middle Ages, it was also believed that necromancy would allow three things: will manipulation, illusions and knowledge.
Sagittarius: Theriomancy, method of observing an animal’s movements to predict the weather shifts, and also of predicting future events by studying mutated animals, such as a red calf or a bright yellow hen, both symbols of the gods.
Capricorn: I Ching divination, based on an 1000 BC divination text known as the Classic of Changes, in which three coins were thrown in the midst of a design of 64 hexagrams made with stems of bloodwort.
Aquarius: Rabdomancy, from Greek ράβδος (rhàbdos), rod, it consisted in watching where a stick (usually made of wood) would fall to take a decision or find a path. Used by Väinämöinen, the demigod and protagonist of the heroic poem Kalevala, it was also known in Ancient Greece.
Pisces: Oneiromamcy, form of divination through dreams that is also present in the Bible and in Middle Eastern works, it was also the main theme of Artemidorus’ Oneirocritica. Generally we can say about these predictions that each animal, type of natural element, plant or person (distinguished by blood ties or social occupation) had a different meaning.
Always with you all.

Dark times all around but there are still people out there who love you
Do not hurt yourself, do not hurt others, get help, talk to someone, anyone. Humanity has survived before and we can do it now if we all just support each other. My country and my people let me down and endangered my life but there’s nothing I or anyone else can do about that so let’s try to spread the love that is so clearly lacking.

“But if you forget to reblog Madame Zeroni, you and your family will be cursed for always and eternity.”
Cancer and Cancer, I was born fucked.
i can’t believe i was raised by 2 air signs
Aries rules the head, we are born head first into the spirit of matter, between the temples on either side of the head the temple of the Godhead resides. Being born feet first may symbolise a premature death was suffered in the past life
Taurus is ruled by Venus the Lover and personifies the physical senses, the first and persisting sound we respond to is the lullaby of our mother’s heartbeat, nourishing, loving, and nurturing the seed of our life
Gemini materialises communication and the first words that we hear inside are the conversations that our mother is having with us, herself and with other people. Gemini also rules the nervous system, so we can be stimulated and rattled by the mother’s nerves in utero
Cancer is the gateway to the earth kingdom so we pass through the waters of the Moon Goddess to birth spirit into form. Cancer is the dream that was had of your existence before you were here, like when your star was getting picked from the sky
Leo is ruled by the sun, your birthday represents the number of times you have orbited around the sun, Leo is your birthday, and every celebration of your birth
Virgo is the Great Mother, our Mother Sophia, Mother Maya and our Mother Mary and Virgo is ruled by Mercury, the mind and the message, the first sound a baby makes is typically ‘maaa’ that sounds like ‘Mercury’, ‘Maya’ and ‘Mary’ calling to this Goddess, the Great Mother is always present, you can call her with your own thoughts
Libra is the sign of relationships, when you arrived you relied on a relationship to survive, and you do evermore, the blooming relationship with yourself, other shades and hues of your self, and with the divine
Scorpio is the masked assassin and the truth seeker, this is your second death. The theologians do this literally as a baptism. But it wasn’t like this. You know the experience I’m referring to. When you were lured to something greater, when the unconscious water took control of you and showed you something beyond this, the crackle and the madness that bought you here, to the deeper studies of soul and existence
Sagittarius is the sign of higher education, it’s when you developed personal interests and started asking questions that nobody could answer, so you decided to start searching for yourself, and Sagittarius rules the thighs so now you can mobilise in the direction of clues
Capricorn is the higher self, if you were to imagine a loving, idealising, and doting parent describing their child’s best achievements and their pride to a stranger, this is the pedestal that Saturn places you on but uses a harsher form of encouragement to edge you towards
Aquarius is when you developed a mind of your own, when you started thinking for yourself and following your natural fascination, inspiration and creativity and tapped into innate natural genius
Pisces is the sign of spiritual reunion, this is when you could remember your dreams, when you made fantasies come to life through your invisible friends, when you still had the memory of where you came from

Now that’s how you do it, sis!

I lost an uncle due to suicide because of his bipolar disorder, my family couldn’t accept his mental health issues and now I’m living the same.
Always enjoy, appreciate and give back everything you get from family love.
Here’s a little bit of a story I want to tell to raise mental health awareness. I grew up in Poland. I was always told my uncle died from a heart attack. I never got to meet him. When I was older, I learned that he committed suicide 5 years before I was born. He suffered with schizophrenia. The mental health system in Poland in the 70-80s was more than just incompetent. They did nothing for my uncle other than make him the laughing stock of the small village we lived in. My family stopped talking to him. He was considered the disgrace of the family that only caused problems. He didn’t get the help he needed. And he was driven to suicide. This summer was the first time I visited his grave. Shortly after I dug up this picture. All I could do is cry. The boy on the left is my uncle, the one in the middle is my father, and on the far right my grandmother. My uncle was a good man. And he’s still rarely spoke of in parts of my family. Even though I never met him, I feel like that chance was taken from me. Please, make sure your family members that suffer from mental illness get the help they need. Spread awareness that ignoring a problem can bring. Please, help me honor my uncle. I wish he was still around to smile like he did in this picture.
(A shady fight is a tense conversation full of shady remarks, personal attacks and it usually goes off the top pretty fast)
Fire Signs: Go full on fight mode, sick of it. To stop them, expose all their bad traits and be sure you have people to rely on (possibly not Pisceans, they wouldn’t win over a Leo easily for example) so that they feel like they better stop. Also facts can help a lot.
Water Signs: Damn good at throwing the best temper tantrums, they can make you look guilty even when you’re not. Do not answer back because it’s something they’re really good at doing, just show them facts and tell them to grow up and stop being pathetic.
Air Signs: Will avoid conflict and just tell you to get lost, just let them know you’re getting pretty done with their shit and that if they want to win this argument they better come up with stuff and stop saying nonsense. If they do, act like an Earth sign and be the adult.
Earth Signs: They tend to act snarky, mean and superior to intimidate you and feel bigger than they are. Just hit a weak spot and act like you’re having the best fun ever. They’ll slowly stop trying to hit you with facts and internally will feel confused.

Aries: Lady Bird
Taurus: Beauty and the Beast
Gemini: Coco
Cancer: The Shape Of Water
Leo: Dunkirk
Virgo: Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
Libra: Darkest Hour
Scorpio: Get Out
Sagittarius: Call Me By Your Name
Capricorn: The Post
Aquarius: On Body And Soul
Pisces: Phantom Thread
Aries: Grapefruit (explosive but stingy)
Taurus: Strawberry (sweet but bland)
Gemini: Cherry (juicy but it’s double trouble)
Cancer: Kiwi (nice but gets the tongue sore)
Leo: Melon (tasty but dense)
Virgo: Green Apple (delicate but sour)
Libra: Grape (candy-like but floppy)
Scorpio: Passion fruit (Intense but meaty)
Sagittarius: Papaya (nutritious but strong)
Capricorn: Pomegranate (satisfying but hard to reach)
Aquarius: Mango (alluring but easily changes)
Pisces: Pineapple (fresh but lowkey hits you)
-Aries: some Aries natives tend to hide under an extroverted and greater-than-life personality a huge need for competition and prevailing onto others, meaning they are really good at wearing masks and playing nicey-nicey, especially when it comes to climbing up social circles. However, when it doesn’t work like they want to they become delusional, repressed and usually really menacing towards anyone who is gentle to them, especially if any of the benefits above aren’t required.
-Taurus: Damn if they are some blunt bitches. Tauruses really like making harsh comments on people in front of them and not giving a fuck, usually because it makes them feel reassured and superior. In reality, they are really fragile and in constant need of support by a group of people. In fact, the most obnoxious Tauruses have the bad habit of being part of really bad social circles.
- Gemini: Gemini’s are really caring people at the core but they really struggle with their emotions, because they want to look controlled and calm all the time and frequent lots of different environments; they aren’t fake but curious, and that’s great, but this lack of solid bases which they can count on is a problem indeed.
-Cancer: Cancers are probably the most complicated, emotional and unstable signs of all the zodiac: their friends many times ask themselves if it’s friendship or a constant fight (it’s actually hard sometimes to decide which one is more correct) and this is because right now they’re all giggles and smiles and five minutes later they will shout at you or push you away giving you a mean stare. Also they sometimes project their feelings g onto others, even to manipulate.
-Leo: Leos can be good and caring friends, but the bad ones (which, news flash, are way more common) are tremendously arrogant, defensive and always trying to act snobbish and cold with people they don’t like. They stick onto things they hate and are ready to stand for their friends really fiercely even when they’ve committed something really wrong and unexcusable. Will also try to point out your flaws just like Taurus to feel powerful and stronger.
-Virgo: Developed Virgos are people deserving of love, respect and true admiration, except for they’re rare: most of them (especially girls because women with Earth Signs are the meanest, deal with it) will be judgemental, critical of others and a clean freak, but most of all they will try to analyze people as if all the intel they collected could be used against those same people.
- Libra: Ahh, Libra, actually there are quite few bad Libras out there. But they are pretty annoying. First of all, it may seem granted but I kid you not it’s superficiality;
nobody likes that, and most of all their childish approach to some things.
-Scorpio: That’s a tough one, because even Developed Scorpios albeit wise are still pretty hard, but mostly the problem is their serious anger problems which makes them throw temper tantrums for the lightest things, and also they are really good at ruining relationship (especially romantic ones) with others because of their tormented feelings. Also they seem to hold grudges for a lifetime and can be pretty insensible when they want to.
-Sagittarius: Sagittarians are actually really good at dealing with their flaws, just like Libra and Cancer, but they usually forget that dealing with emotions and empathising isn’t a cakewalk for them. Also, their jokes and constant humor (this also happen with some Capricorns) make some of their important discussions pretty difficult to take seriously.
-Capricorn: Capricorns can be officially the meanest sign, and that’s because they can be pretty bossy, authoritarian and especially they will easily bully and humiliate other people for fun and see it as a game. Bad Capricorns love to brag about the evil things they did, and in fact they are capable of doing and saying lots and lots of very, very shameful stuff. They can be sly, selfish and really untrustworthy.
-Aquarius: Aquarians are weirdos for sure, like what is wrong with those dumbos?
Initially it looks like their only flaw is that they get obsessed with an argument even if they’re proved wrong for no reason whatsoever, and secondly they isolate themselves many times, often for the desire to be unique. In the end, they just look like the rich-but-fake-poor hippie who makes random videos about stuff and writes nonsense. And well, confident Aquarians act really, really superior to others and not in a nice way.
- Pisces: So I might seem biased on this one (and it’s because I am a Virgo) but believe me truly when I say that they are really messed up, toxic, lying and emotionally disturbed people. People often say that they have a strong sense of sacrifice: that’s bullshit, honey, it’s a Virgo thing. Pisceans help people only when it inspires them to do something better, like in social events etc. but in reality they have no problems in revealing all your deepest secrets to everyone, just to start a conversation. Anyways they will make it up and act like the loving helper who is always there, but they aren’t. Also tends to end up with bad people and likely uses substances+ gets easily irritated, nervous and sad for a whole week for one thing.
Saw this shared on FB. It covers counter-arguments for a lot of the most common pro-gun points you’ll see people raise. Long read, but very helpful.

Chiune Sugihara. This man saved 6000 Jews. He was a Japanese diplomat in Lithuania. When the Nazis began rounding up Jews, Sugihara risked his life to start issuing unlawful travel visas to Jews. He hand-wrote them 18 hrs a day. The day his consulate closed and he had to evacuate, witnesses claim he was STILL writing visas and throwing from the train as he pulled away. He saved 6000 lives. The world didn’t know what he’d done until Israel honored him in 1985, the year before he died.
