Day One- Sleeping

Prompt: Chris cant sleep and ends up at Nevin's house.

It was midnight when Chris got up. His blonde hair was a mess. His eyes gave off a soft glow. He yawned for about the hundredth time ever since he woke up. He had a nightmare. It was about is father beating him and kicking him out of the house for being bisexual, or has his father said in his dream, a fag.

He felt colder than usual. If he was being honest with himself, he really wanted to cry. He wanted to be free. He wanted to sleep peacefully. He wanted someone. Chris didn't know what to do. So he acted on instinct. Chris was shirtless, he had black shorts on. He hadn't put a shirt on, but rather his light grey jacket.

He had quietly opened his door and closed it when he was out. He did the same for the front door, expect he had to unlock and lock it. He had no idea where to go when he was outside. He decided on a place to go. His safe place.

He walked to the Jovel brother's house. Once he got there he wasn't exactly sure if anyone was awake. He knocked on the door. To his luck, after a few minutes, someone answered. It was Nevin. "Chris?" The black haired boy asked quietly.

It seemed Nevin had only woken up to answer the door. It was 2:45 I'm the morning. Normally he wouldn't have answered, but he was curious who the hell would be up at a time like that.

"H... hey. Can I come in?" Chris asked. Nevin nodded and stepped out of the way. He closed the door behind Chris. "Why are you here?" The shorter one asked. "I... I don't know." Chris answered, looking around as if he'd never been in the Jovel household. "You don't know?" Nevin asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I... I had a nightmare." Chris said, sitting on the couch. Nevin took a seat next to him. "Wanna... talk about it?"

Nevin mentally groaned. He was never good at talking about feelings. And he definitely isn't good at comforting people. A simple 'there there' would probably be the best he can manage.

"It was.... about my dad... about me being... ya know.. bi and that stuff.. and he hit me and kicked me out of the house and..." Chris tensed. "It just felt so real." The red and grey eyed boy finsihed. Nevin nodded. "I haven't been able to sleep since I woke up.?

"When did you wake up?"

"Ten p.m maybe?"

"What." Nevin asked. Chris yawned and nodded. "Yeah. I'm just scared." He said.

Nevin hesitated. "Sleep with me."

Chris, being very tired, and gay, says, "Excuse me?" And ends up becoming red. "Gosh, not like that. I mean actaully sleep with me. In my room. Because this couch ain't comfortable." He said. Chris stuttered. "Uh, yeah, sure. I guess." Chris said, stretching.

Both boys got up and went in to Nevin's room. They both laid next to each other on Nevin's bed. It was extremely awkward and gay. Chris made a risky decision. He cuddled up to Nevin.

Nevin felt heat rise to his cheeks. Both hearts were pounding. The both had that giddy feeling inside of them. Nevin relaxed and closed his eyes. Chris started to drift off into sleep.

And in no time they both were asleep.

I agree actually. I hate it and love it. I hate it because it seems abusive and toxic, but I've seen images and fanfictions that are written well, with no elusiveness and just fluff. I'm honestly only writing Afterdeath because I know people like it, even if it's, well, abusive to me. And it just doesn't sit well with me. They're relationship is always over sexualized, and I just cant. Geno clearly doesnt like it in most of the stories I've read, yet Reaper still does it. And after what happened to my mother and myself, it doesnt sit right with me. I don't really like most of the Afterdeath content out there because of this. The random basically ruined it for me.

I don't hate it completely, but I do fully agree with what you said about the "tsundere x pervert."

It disgust me to even think about it after everything that happened to me and my mom.

y’all gonna hate me for this one shhdjhdsjhshs. i never really got the hype for them, not even when i first got into the fandom and loved popular ships.

it doesn’t help that i don’t like to ship reaper with anyone but life. i’m a multi-shipper, but reaper x life is god tier. not to mention, i see geno being aro-ace? i don’t know why? i just do? like i’ll ship afterink, but platonically.

also i’m not really sure why they would ever interact. i guess it’s built off the idea that reaper would travel to his au to reap him? but i always thought reaper only reaped within his own au. (don’t quote me on that though i’m not sure haha)

geno is my number one favorite sans, so it also hurts when people take the “tsundere x pervert” thing too far. i see people write reaper literally harassing geno, and geno doesn’t defend himself. it’s fucking gross.

i understand it’s not canon, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth when i see afterdeath.

not to mention, the afterdeath fandom is kinda.. wacky? wattpad, especially. i wrote a pretty popular book on wattpad, and when geno showed up in the story (which was ship-less, mind you) there was a comment saying “omg it’s reaper’s waifu!!! but not in this story hehe” or something similar to it. i wanted to scream because THAT’S NOT THE THING YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO FOCUS ON. IT WAS A SERIOUS MOMENT IN THE FIC.

i despise this ship and it is the only non-illegal ship i’ll never make quotes for.
