The cashier, who just saw all the other customers in the shop turn into dust: Just take them

Ok I had this rotting in my mind for days now

Jason-youre-not-my-dad-i-dont-live-here-fuck-you-mothefucking-todd *walks in red-faced and barely keeping it together*: dad..
Okay, picture this we've got Bruce pale and sweaty, holding a still sobbing dick and and surrounded by steph, cass, duke and picking damian up all quietly crying and/or sniffing and we've got tim pressing his face to Bruce side, shoulders chaking and then jason of all people starts sniffing and Bruce literally goes even paler (of that's even possibe) and pulls him in
Bruce : What's wrong? Talk to me, sweetheart
Dick : it-it's they- * Starts wailling*
Bruce : they? Who's they? Did you get their names?adresss? Social security number?
Steph : n-no it's not- *hiccups and buries her face on him, you can hear her crying*

Bruce : from what? What is it?
Barbara * Wheeling in, popcorn in hand, eyes red and sniffing:
Bruce : Barbara?
Babs: hey b

Bruce : what's going on?
Babs:Oh, we watched a movie
Bruce: excuse me?
Babs: Yeah, grave of the fireflies, man that was heartbreaking
*higher crying*
Bruce:
The next day
Headlines go like this :
*brucie Wayne secretly just a loving father*
*brucie Wayne threatens whoever hurts his children*
*Wayne children being dependent on their dad no matter how old they get*
Social media similarly is bursting with :
"I love how he was ready to commit murder for them lmaooo"
"Is it just me or did brucie just get 10 times hotter*
"Man, dick grayson crying is something I didn't know I needed, that man is such a pretty crier"
"Damn, I love how tim drake and Stephanie brown just buried themselves in their dad"
"My God I always thought damian wayne was bratty but he's actually really cute?"
*God brucie holding damian, dick and still hugging all his other children is so hot"
"Hold on, isn't jason todd dead?"
(And no, this isn't me projecting. grave of the fireflies did not emotionally destroy me. What?)
youtube content in the dc universe
sequel
You know the “Dad, How Do I?” YouTube channel? Yeah, that, but with Red Hood, and they’re unlisted videos that Crime Alley residents share with each other.
It started with goons stealthily taking videos of Red Hood ranting about shitty drug quality that they upload under the title “Boss on drug quality control,” primarily for other goons so that anyone can tell if the supplies have been cut with something and don’t need to waste time asking Hood.
Then videos from civilians start popping up too, featuring Red Hood lecturing street kids titled things like “RH on staying warm in winter” and “RH on how not to get mugged.”
Memorably, there’s a video titled “RH on classic literature (y’all did RH go to college???? Is our crime lord a lit major???)” where Red Hood imparts upon some kids the importance of reading. After a very positive reception, the uploader goes back to Red Hood, asks about a book they’re reading for school, and gets a whole lecture on themes and whatnot. It does numbers and becomes a series, and this time Hood knows the camera exists (he’s always known they exist, he just couldn’t be bothered to acknowledge them) and actually talks to it.
(Jason will do anything to help these children, whether it’s giving them a leg up in school, giving the street kids who aren’t in school some semblance of an education, or teaching them how to shank someone trying to traffic them.)
Red Hood never uploads any videos himself, but it doesn’t matter. Crime Alley crowd sourced its own version of Khan academy and it’s better for it.
This would 100% happen
CW: so much angst but it’s mainly for villains
Tim had Ana hunt with Bruce who tells him that he’s too young to understand how the world really works, with Jason adding sneakily that he’s also a rich boy who’s never struggled before.
Naturally, Tim takes this as a challenge and decides to help and/or ‘fix’ every villains that he thinks he realistically can.
He goes big straight away with Harley Quinn. He goes to her and pretends to be asking for advice on a friend who’s in an abusive relationship, saying no one else seems to be understanding eh situation but as a score she might. He smoothly describes her and Joker and lets her rant for almost two hours before pulling the rug form under her and saying that Jason forgives his ‘friend’ for him dying by her boyfriend because he knows she was hurt just as bad when she tried to save him.
Harley takes another two months to leave the Joker and places herself in Arkham to contour her role as a doctor for her fellow maniacs.
It takes the help of several doctors but he finds the cure for Freezes wife and hands it over while telling the man that his wife probably won’t forgive him for his various murders.
Freeze understands, saves his wife anyway and accepts her request for a divorce willing, just as long as she stays alive.
He gets Arnold Wesker a real doctor who can better treat his Dissociative Identity Disorder and helps him keep Scarface out of the front by playing along as if rhetorical puppet is real and under heavy custody.
Arnold starts to live for more moments of peace than he has in years, even if there are still some really bad days.
With Poison Ivy he doesn’t actually do anything as Robin, but instead goes to her as Tim Drake and asks for her guidance on how to make his medical company and by association Wayne Industries completely eco friendly and even help to stop climate change. Tim Drake was already borderline political, he might as well lead the charge on action for climate. He does say that if Ivy does any more large scale and fatal attacks he will stop everything, which she agrees to after a week of though with her plants council.
Pamala cries for hours when she sees Tim’s plan to de-plant the entirety of a forest that she had once tried to save.
Tim doesn’t tell his family about any of this until he asks them to visit him in his city office about a gala he wants to hold, his very first, and they find Pamala and Harley helping with decoration plans and Victor and Arnold discussing how their therapy has been going together.
Bruce nearly had a heart attack.
Jim Gordon had seen two Robin's at this point and figured out Batman's civilian identity at this point, so him arriving with a third Robin makes him finally tell Batman he knows he's also Bruce Wayne.
Commissioner Gordon waited on the roof for Batman, like he usually did, but this time he could sense something crazy was about to happen more than usual when dealing with a man who wore a leather bat suit.
Batman (hesitant): Commissioner... Gordon.
Gordon turned around and once he saw the new Robin (Tim Drake), he immediately closed his eyes and shook his head like a disappointed father.
Gordon (jaded): You gotta be kidding me.
Batman nodded in agreement.
Batman (ashamed): I'm aware how odd this looks. I can acknowledge the weirdness at this point. To be fair though... I made it clear I didn't want him to be my new Robin. Tell him, Robin.
Robin!Tim (looking at the bat signal): That's the bat signal... I'm next to it!
Batman groaned, covering his his eyes.
Gordon (tight smile): You sure are kid, you sure are... Batman, he looks the same age as the other kid. Nice to meet you, new Robin.
Robin!Tim: Sup Commissioner Gordon, I met your daughter she's pretty cool.
Gordon (accepting all of this): I raised her well, thanks. I like your suit.
Robin!Tim: Thanks, I added pants. It's form fitting, it works.
Batman (not sure how to word his defense): I'm aware that... I said I would not have another Robin but after needing his assistance I... adopted him. Sort of. Okay, this one came to me. I- I can tell by your expression that, that didn't help the situation.
Gordon sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.
Robin!Tim (hands on his hips): I earned this roll, nothing weird about that.
Gordon: Fair point from the third child sidekick. Batman, at this point I'm not even shocked that you have a new Robin and I like his energy, but um... um... Do you have a specific preference for short, black-haired boys?
Batman glanced at Robin then shrugged because he couldn't think of a good response.
Robin!Tim (confused): Why did you phrase it like that?!
Gordon: I have dealt with this man having three robins at this point and yes it's been three because the first one had a different skin tone and was adorable, the second one was funny, but cussed me out at random and you are very pale, but all of them have had black hair... what is going on?!
Batman (exhausted with life): Honestly, it's a very weird coincidence, but a coincidence nonetheless. That is the least of the questions you need to ask me at this point.
Gordon (sighing): Fair enough, what's his story?
Robin!Tim: I stay with Batman so he doesn't kill himself or murder so many criminals .
Batman (exhausted): Hn, thank you, Robin... that was what you should tell a police chief.
Gordon: Nah, that's the best answer he could have given me in this situation. Can I talk to you in private real quick, Batman?
Batman: Sure. I'm kind of accepting of this part of my hero life. Robin, um, stand here and don't eavesdrop on our conversation.
Robin!Tim: I don't like standing still for long periods of time... I'm just going to spin around my bo staff while you talk to Commissioner Gordon.
Batman: That works for me.
Batman walked off with Gordon to a corner of the roof, a good distance from Robin. Robin eagerly tossed his bo staff in the air and caught if effortlessly.
Batman: Honestly people call me odd for wearing a bat suit but that is the thing that makes the most sense to me in my life. Plus I look awesome so you can't even critique the suit. You know?
Gordon groans, covering his face and trying to wonder how he should start his next statement.
Batman: I already know you're going to ask me some type of evasive question... go ahead ask it.
Gordon clasped his hands together and takes a deep breath.
Gordon (deadpan): I've known you for a fairly long time and I'm going to cut to the chase... when were you going to ever tell me that you're Bruce Wayne?
Batman (shocked): What? No ... No I'm not.
Gordon: Bruce, don't play dumb, I figured out you are the same person a while ago, but since you haven't 'trusted' me enough to tell and that is the third Robin, I felt it was necessary to remove this weird barrier you have. I'm not going to arrest you or anything, your secret is safe with me. I want an honest answer though, I promise nothing you say here will leave this roof.
Batman buried his head in his hands and let out a defeated groan. He didn't want to admit it, but at this point in his life he simply couldn't keep it secret.
Gordon: That confirmed it. I became suspicious after Barbara got shot. Jason Todd, your adopted son, turning out to be the Robin definitely verified it. Then CPS visited your place to investiage you about child abuse... that was fasinating because you looked panicked that day.
Batman (embarrassed): I can't believe this happening, right now.
Gordon: Hold on, I'm not done yet. The rest of Gotham bought the story that your adopted son somehow became Robin with a random guy who is Batman and you weren't Batman because "Why would someone like Bruce Wayne be Batman?" Freaking Gotham news, you're lucky that they're so believable.
Batman (serious): You're not going to tell anyone are you? I'm going through a lot at the moment.
Gordon patted Batman on the shoulder reassuringly.
Gordon: As I said, your secret will remain that. We've been through these couple of crazy years together, you were there for Barbara when she got shot, and I wasn't too hot about the fact that it was the Joker, but I got over it. You've never given me a reason to arrest you and I've learned to see as a friend. And much like when my daughter told me she's batgirl... I'm fine with it.
Batman remained silent, surprised that the police chief who he had known for over two decades was keeping his civilian identity secret.
Gordon (sincerely): You're my friend, don't worry about it.
Batman: Oh... you see us as friends too? I'm... You said that before, but huh, not really used to this, am I?
Gordon: I go through the same struggles. Do you want to go over the case with him in front of us or I don't know how to handle this, this is like your third Robin.
Gordon laughs as Batman groans embarrassed.
Batman: Yeah this kid is pretty smart so he can be listening in and circle back, Barbara told you she was Batgirl?!
Gordon: Oh yeah, but I figured it out a two years before she had told me. You guys got to remember, I'm a detective.
Batman: This might sound rude, but I did not think you were that good at your job, the police here are very corrupt.
Gordon (nods in agreement): Fair enough, let's head back to the kid and get this case started.
Gordon walked back over to Robin along with Batman. Batman looks dejected but Gordon pats him on the back to give him some type of sympathy.

My absolute favorite baby brothers ugh
Somehow, someway, I can see this happening
what if Damian wasn’t sent to Bruce by Talia and instead decided to do a bit of early child-rebellion by running away to him himself. Talia, pissed off but too busy dealing with uprisings in the league to go track him down herself, calls up the person Damian is most likely to listen to other than her; his brother, who she trusts to keep him safe.
the thing is, Jason is 1: busy with his own missions atm 2: was also once a rebellious little asshole who liked to run away from home. he was Damian’s tutor once, he knows the kid can handle himself and he also knows if he CAN’T handle something he’ll contact Jason for help. he knows this because about a week before Talia called him, Damian called him.
Jason, phone balanced between his ear and shoulder: what do you want, i’m undercover
Damian: i require money for a fake passport.
Jason:
Jason, letting go of the guy he was beating up: alright you have my attention.
Damian: i am running away from home. i wish to do something ‘for the lore’ like the stories you used to tell me as a child.
Jason:
Jason ‘i’m going to ethiopia’ Todd: there’s some stuff in the fake panel under my bed. don’t tell me where you’re going, i don’t want to be complicit when Talia calls. also don’t die, because if you do i’m gonna make you eat dirt once you get out of the pit.
Damian: understood. if i am about to die, i shall call again.
Jason: have fun kiddo.
so Jason tells Talia he’ll ‘keep an eye out for any leads’ and then goes back to his normal business. league missions, his own missions, some outlaw shit, and eventually he ends up crime lording it up in Gotham. he’s a little confused when Tim Drake is seen swinging around as Red Robin rather than just Robin, but he got over his obsession with the Robin shit a while ago, so he ignores it.
until he runs into Batman and Robin. and there isn’t a mask in the fucking world that could hide his kid brother’s face from him.
Red Hood:
Robin:
Red Hood:
Robin:
Batman: why are you two staring at each other like that. what’s happening.
Robin:
Red Hood: *deep sigh*
Robin: are you going to tell mother-
Red Hood: -when you said ‘like the stories i used to tell you’.
Robin: *looks at the floor*
Red Hood: i did NOT think you meant running to a different country to find your birth parent. you fucking COPIER.
Robin:
Robin: …but you made being Robin sound so cool…
Batman: what the fuck are you two talking about?
Red Hood, pointing: you stay out of this, this is family business.
Batman: ????
