it had been approximatelyâŚwell, max had lost track of how many days it had been since sheâd snuck into lucasâ tent. ever since then, her world seemed to be all out of sorts, like she was constantly running after her brain so she could shove it back into her body. when she wasnât working, she filled her time with watching plenty of bad television, hopping from friends house to friends house, and lurking in the arcade more than she usually did. with all that was going on in hawkins, the least of her worries was her feelings.Â
needless to say? when eddie came knocking, she was glad. it was like his eddie senses started tingling and he knew she needed to be spending less time with her real step-brother, and more time with him. despite how grateful she was, a mildly irritated expression was plastered across her face as he dragged her to the roof of his trailer, only letting a smile shine through when he produced a joint from them to share.Â
âi thought you left for chicago without telling me, asshole.â max teased, snapping twice, then gesturing for the joint. she placed it between her lips, inhaling deeply and closing her eyes. she was grateful eddie interrupted himself before she could even start to get into the headache that was her life as of late. did she start with the weirdo time warp theyâd gone into at the lake or the fact that one of her longest friendships was in serious jeopardy? luckily, she didnât have to figure it out.Â
instead, she turned her head to face eddie, holding the joint out for him as she curiously raised her brows. she hadnât seen him this giddy sinceâŚwellâŚever. it was a nice sight. he deserved it after all the shit hawkins had put him through. or, life in general, really. âalrightâŚâ max said slowly, nodding a little, as if to say, go on, âwhat is it?â she propped herself up on her elbows, getting excited as her own theories carried her away, âdid you win the lottery? steal something really cool? ooh no, i got it, you were the one who egged hawkins p.d, werenât you? i knew it.â
+++
he rolled his eyes at her snapping but passed the joint willingly. unoccupied fingers now drumming restlessly against the side of his thigh. the last time he'd been this excited must've been a few weeks after the events of spring break '86, when he'd rushed home early from school one thursday afternoon to tell wayne that he was finally going to be part of a graduating class this year.
he scrunched his nose up in excitement and relief as max finally asked him what it was about, god, he felt jittery, laughed gleefully as she guessed wrong and wrong again. eddie propped himself up on his elbows, too, took the joint from her hands. pinching it between his thumb and pointer finger he took a few quick puffs and passed it right back to her.
"nuh-uh.", he shook his head, a devious glint in his eyes, and suddenly his current position wouldn't do, he had an unbearable itch to move. with a strained groan he lifted himself further up until he was sat cross legged in front of her, scooting closer. knees moving up and down. "you're never gonna believe it, red, i swear im telling the truth, alright. scout's honor, on my mother's grave and all that jazz.",he'd lifted his hand to rest over his heart for a few seconds, eyes searching max's.
here went nothing. eddie inhaled deeply, frowned as he tried to think of what to say, how to say it. what to say first, rather. how to phrase it. oh, where to begin. blurting it all out at once, somewhat incoherently, seemed to be what his brain had settled on.
"steve!", he simply exclaimed, scrunched up his nose again as he bit down on a grin. hands flexing at his sides. "i mean, I - well, he, or, we, more like - it's nothing.... nothing, like big and official and whatever but.... i mean, we're sort of -" gesturing about wildly, it was impossible for him to get the words out at the same volume that they were racing through his mind. " we're.... uh, i guess we're kind of.... kind of unofficially and as of yet, like, not super seriously....dating? "

steve let out a small laugh at what eddie said about his ego, shaking his head slowly at the other. âmy ego is just the right size, thank you very much⌠but you could have just been honest that you wanted to see me instead of creeping around the store. iâve noticed youâve been coming here a lot lately, i didnât know you were such a fan of movies.â he said with a smirk, as he looked at eddie for a couple of moments.
shaking his head slowly, steve sighed. âi know itâs called dungeons and dragons, but i really donât know what it is about. i usually shut off when henderson talks about that shit, unless, you know, itâs important to save our lives and the town.â he said - unfortunately, that had happened way too many times for steveâs liking. he still thought it was weird that every once in a while, creatures would emerge from the ground and put everyone at risk. but after two years of quiet, steve had to admit that it was too quiet for his liking. he just had to admit that they could all finally have some peace. âyouâre still playing that shit or what?â he asked, raising an eyebrow at the other.
seeing eddieâs reaction to his compliment made steve smirk slightly, nodding his head slowly as the other talked. âi think it looks good now, so donât worry about that.â he said, his eyes now moving to see the otherâs tattoos, especially the one that eddie made sure he showed once he pulled down his shirt collar. maybe steve looked for longer than he liked, but could anyone blame him? there was something about eddie and steve couldnât just wrap his head around on what it was. did he find him attractive? he definitely did⌠but he wasnât sure how eddie would feel about that if he knew, so he just smiled at him. âthose look pretty sick, munson, i have to say iâm impressed.â he said with a small laugh escaping from his lips as he placed his hands on the counter, watching as the other leaned forward.
eddieâs reactions were making steve laugh like no other, but then he realized. had he just asked the other on a date? it couldnât possibly be a date, they were just two friends hanging out. nothing special was going to happen, right? it was just two friends hanging out, he kept repeating in his head as he looked down at eddie. he was a bit at a loss for words. âuh⌠i think, we could just uh⌠watch a movie. that sounds like a plan.â he said with a small nod, before clearing his throat as he looked at eddie with a smile on his face. âjust a movie itâs fine i think⌠and donât worry, i donât kiss on the first date. sorry to disappoint.â he said, regaining some of the confidence he usually had, as he looked at eddie. they were just friends. just friends.
+++
eddie bit his lip, felt his cheeks heat up. he quickly averted his gaze, shit. so he hadnât been as inconspicuous as he thought heâd been. great fucking job, munson. he looked down, finger starting to play with his rings, twisting them around, moving them from one finger to another. fidgeting. âsee, iâm not a big movie guy but i am a fan of looking at that pretty face of yours. withotu having to hear you talk.â, he teased with a chuckle, though he still felt a little nervous and that âwitty replyâ of his had taken entirely too long.
he shifted his weight from one foot to another. as steve mentioned dungeons and dragons he, again, let himself fall against the counter, actually slid down, pretending to claw his way up as he got back upright. âdost thine insolence never stop?â, he said with a shake of his head, a deep sigh. â and see, thatâs exactly why i took the spot of the âdesignated a ltitle weirdly older best friendâ and replaced you, stevie. henderson worships you but the dissing dnd part? not cool, man.â eddie proudly rose his chin, give steve a stern nod, curls flying about as he did so. ââcourse i do, iâm doing a little hellfire reunion campaign this summer, too. itâs fun, harrington, wouldnât kill ya to have some every once in a while, hm?â
âi think it looks good nowâ. damn his body for releasing that swarm of butterflies in his stomach, eddie thought and swallowed. well, if somebody had told eddie like, five years ago that heâd one day be a squirming, blushing mess because steve harrington complimented his hair? he wouldâve thought them clinically insane. and the butterflies were apparently dead set on staying, viciously swarming as he caught steveâs eye slingering on his exposed chest for just - a - tad - too - long. he felt dizzy, adjusted his collar again. he grinned, a stupid little lovey grin. âthanks, man. you know you should get some of your own. it would make you, like, ten times hotter.â still grinning, though wavering a little as his mind caught up with what heâd said. eddieâs eyes widened. âi mean, like you know. the chicks would dig it.â
great fucking save, munson. he had to fight the urge to squeeze his eyes shut in embarrassment. god, what was it that steve did to him that turned him into this mess of a person. he mirrored steveâs nod. âjust a movie, then. very sensible. iâm in, harrington.â as if that wasnât fucking clear enough.Â
okay, but at this point, it was steveâs fault as much as eddieâs that eddie couldnât seem to form a coherent thought. because the minute heâd said the word âkissâ thatâs all he could think about - kissing steve. his tonge darted out to wet his lips and he had to physically tear his eyes away from where theyâd dropped to steveâs lips. god fucking dammit. he blinked. âaw, shucks, stevie. and i was hoping to get to second base with you during the especially scary parts. man. youâre such a tease.â

xx.
Coleâs eyes sparkled with amusement and curiosity as he searched his brain. Dorothy? Flagging? What was Eddie trying to ask him? And why was he speaking in this obscure code? At first, Cole wondered if it was a DnD thing, but then realization hit when Cole spotted a bandana in Eddieâs back pocket. He instinctively reached for the bandana heâd tucked in his own pocket and the amusement on his face morphed to something akin to wonder.Â
At Eddieâs question, Cole nodded and held out the pack, though his eyes were still glazed over. As Eddie plucked out a cigarette, Cole offered his lighter. He wanted to say something, at least to put Eddie at ease, but he wasnât sure if he was ready to say it out loud. No one knew yet⌠well, that wasnât true, because there was Steve and then there was Max. What the hell?
âI am, too,â Cole said, abruptly. He lowered the cigarette from his lips and looked at Eddie, motioning to the flag. For some reason, he felt the urge to prove it. God forbid Eddie thought he was playing a mean prank. âDo you remember Adam Richards? Tall, broad, blonde? He was my⌠well, you know,â Cole stumbled through his words, feeling his cheeks heat up. He was never this awkward.Â
+++
droplets of nervous sweat starting to appear above his brow, eddieâs eyes darted down to where cole pulled out that blasted bandana before he took both the cigarette and lighter from him. he clicked it a couple of times, no light appeared, eddie nervously glanced back up at cole, down at the lighter. violently shook it around for a moment, another attempt - it thankfully lit this time and he handed it back to cole.
he was a bundle of nerves. the previous pleasant buzz from the alcohol had almost entirely disappeared, he flicked the cigaretteâs filter repeatedly, fidgeted with his rings on his other hand. as if he was almost....waiting for cole to ridicule him. instead, however, he said something completely unexpected and eddie chocked on his own breath, sputtering cough.
he looked up to lock eyes with him. i am, too. the fuck did he mean? and âtooâ? was this some sort of trap? or was he literally genuinely saying what...eddie thought...he was saying? hadnât he not gotten any of his surely widely popularly used phrases moments ago? he quirked a brow, took a drag once his coughing had subised. âyou are....what?â, eyes narrowed, voice low in case this was, indeed, a trap.
adam richards was mentioned and, oh, jeez, it all made sense. eddie almost instantly felt bad, a guilty nauseau creeping up on him. way to go, munson, way to go. âyour best friend, wasnât he?â brows pulled together, lips twisted into a sympathetic smile. of course, max hadnât been the only one whoâd lost someone on the very ground they were standing on. âlisten, man, iâm so...sorry - like, thatâs gotta be rough, like, being here and everything. sorry. i can go and leave you alone if you want to.â

âdonât worry about it⌠she was old anyway.â steve shrugged it off, he didnât really care for his family that much. not his real family either way, he liked to think that everyone he knew in hawkins and was close with were his actual family, rather than his blood. but that didnât matter now, steve was too focused on eddie to think about that right now.
steve stared at eddie for a couple of moments as he talked, nodding his head slowly once the other mentioned that he was tough. âi know you are, but tough guys need some ice sometimes. itâs okay.â he said with a small smile, before shaking his head once he mentioned that he was a hero. âyou know, iâm not really a hero if i get beat up every time i try to get into a fight. but thank you. itâs good to know that you think iâm hot, munson.â he said with a smirk, as he looked at eddie with a smile on his face. steve didnât expect to spend this much time with eddie, especially not alone, but he liked it. the other was good company and it was easy to talk to him. sure, they wouldnât have been friends in high school, but that was the thing. they werenât exactly in high school anymore. steve was glad for that.
looking around his room once eddie started commenting on it, he couldnât help but to blush slightly. he had never really gotten around to change his room to his style, his mom didnât seem to like it, but why did she care? it wasnât like she was around to see it anyway. the only thing that made that room steveâs room was the bat with nails under his bed, but he didnât want to tell eddie that. he didnât need to know he kept it there. âitâs not me, itâs my⌠mom. i just never really bothered to change itâ he said with a small shrug of his shoulders as he looked at eddie again.
without even having time to process it, eddie was changing right in front of him. he didnât know why he stopped breathing for some moments there, after all, he was used to seeing guys changing in the locker rooms when he was in the swimming team, but this⌠it was different. it was eddie. his eyes lingered on the otherâs body, checking the tattoos for a few moments until he finally put on steveâs shirt. it was weird how he looked good on it, or maybe steve just liked the sight of eddie wearing his clothes. whatever it was, steve couldnât help himself to turn red. âthatâs a secret iâll never tell.â he said with a chuckle.
steve stood by the door for a few moments as he looked at eddie, deciding if he should stay or not, but when he heard eddie say that the bed was big enough, steve nodded his head. âsure, i⌠i can stay with you. thatâs fine.â he said, before closing the door behind him. he was about to spend the night with eddie munson on his bed and he wasnât sure how to feel about that. it wasnât the first time he had brought someone up to his room, but this was eddie.
steve didnât waste any time as he climbed onto his own bed, sitting up on it as he looked over at eddie. âcome on.â he said with a nod, as he cleared his throat and patted the spot next to him. what was he doing? what if eddie took it the wrong way? he wouldnât, right? he was the one who had asked him to stay, and steve wanted to stay more than anything. âiâll even let you choose the side you want to sleep on.â he smiled.
+++
âitâs good to know that you think iâm hot, munsonâ. eddieâs lips parted, a nervous chuckle and amused scoff drawn from them. as good as it felt that steve was so receptive to his teasing, it felt bittersweet all the same. because eddie had spent the better part of, what, two years now flirting with him. in vain, of course, for steve had never picked up on any of his advances. or if he had, heâd certainly given eddie the impression that they werenât welcome or worth to be acknwoledged.
âbut, you know, the fact that you get into fights in the first place - sure, you get your ass kicked but youâre doing it for a righteous cause. that screams hero to me, harrington.â not to mention that steve looked bonkers hot when he got a little roughed up.
he could feel steveâs eyes on him, his stare burning into his back and he squirmed under his gaze. eddie hoped the dim lighting of the room wuld hide the deep, deep blush that had risen to his cheeks. who could blame him, that felt like a perfectly reasonable reaction to having steve harrington watch you change. and before he could stop himself, before he even knew it the words had already fallen from his lips, causing his brain to short-circuit somewhat. âsee something you like, stevie?â
a sigh of relief drawn from his lungs, eddie relaxed slightly when steve agreed to stay and closed the door behind him. still, he wtached in...nervous excitement when as steve made his way to his bed,. sat down and invited him in. no, it was too much - it was more than heâd even dared to imagine in his wildest fantasies.
cautiously, he climbed into the bed, body brushing past steveâs as he settled. a small smile playing on his lips, edie wasted no time scotting under the covers. âiâm more of a wall side guy myself.â, he said, shifting around until heâd made himself comfortable.steveâs bed was so incredibly soft it took all he had for him not to fall asleep right then and there. eddie turned to the side to face steve.
âuh, listen, man, i...i get like, these, night terrors ? i guess?â chewing on his bottom lip nervously, he averted his gaze. âso, uh. donât get freaked out when i, like, move around. and if i get too close or something feel free top, just, push me away. donât worry,â, he said, gave him an amused scoff, âyou donât have to cuddle with the freak or anything.â

Dustin was glad that Eddie was out - he still for the life of him couldnât figure out what the fuck they were even charging Eddie with. Hopefully they hadnât, because a court case was the last fucking thing any of them needed now. He was glad that Eddie was a free man currently, and that heâd finally gone home to rest here instead of with Steve. He had to take care of himself right now too, which Dustin knew was easier said than done. After all, he was struggling with that himself - he assumed most of their group was.
When Eddie finally opened the door and pulled him into a hug, Dustin set the pizza down on the end table beside the couch to wrap both arms around him. He needed this - they both did. It was proof that they were both okay, that theyâd made it back here in one piece and comfort from the shit theyâd experienced. Dustin hugged him tightly, just happy that he was okay, as a few tears slipped out. He wiped them away quickly when Eddie let him go, smiling at the familiar hair ruffle. Dustin had missed this while Eddie had been in Chicago, although part of him wished now that Eddie had stayed, if only because it meant that he would be safe and not at risk of being arrested again.Â
âNo, Iâm okay.â Dustin told him, shaking his head. âSome bruising and scrapes, but nothing major.â There was a lot happening emotionally, but he didnât need to talk about that shit right now. Not when he was worried about how Eddie was holding up. âWhat about you, though? Are you okay? Do we need to find you a lawyer or something?â He asked, brow furrowed in concern for his friend. That was a terrifying prospect, but theyâd handle it if they had to.Â
+++
eddie pulled away from the embrace very reluctantly, tempted to draw dustin right back in again as he spotted the few wayward tears on his cheeks. why did everything about hawkins have to be so complicated? why could this town not grant them more than a yearâs peace? they had no control over where theyâd been born, so really, the universe was quite cruel for roping them into the curse so undeniably interwoven with hawkinsâ very core. âgood. âm glad. i - i saw you going in the tent with suzie and - â he stopped to take a deep breath, shook his head softly. it didnât matter, no need to dwell on the tragedies that couldâve been. âyou gotta be more careful, kid. got it?â
and eddie gave him a stern look that soon faded into another weak attempt at a smile. the mention of lawyers brought the ever present nausea back to the pit of his stomach and, with a sigh, he turned around and plopped down onthe couch, gestured for dustin to follow along. one hand reaching up to rub at his temples, he shrugged. âi donât know, man, i - all i know is they released me. said iâm still a âprime suspectâ or whatever, that was it, that was - that was all they told me. apparently they think that hargrove and i are responsible for the explosion - or, well, theyâre pinning it on us, anyway.â another shrug, he let his head fall back against the cushions. âbut itâs - donât worry âbout me, henderson. iâll be fine. always am.â

WHO: Dustin Henderson & @eddiemcnson¡
WHAT: Just a lil check-in after they both got ouchies <3
WHERE: Eddieâs trailerÂ
The most horrible thing about the Upside Down was that no matter how hard Dustin tried, he could never know everything about it. Just when it seemed like theyâd figured shit out and defeated evil for good, some brand new horror would escape and theyâd start this horrifying cycle all over again. Honestly, after Vecna, Dustin had thought that they might be done for good this time; it had been quiet for two years, after all. But that was clearly not the case.Â
Once the adrenaline had begun to wane after the night of their encounter with the creature, Dustin wanted to check on everyone. Especially Eddie, considering that heâd really only faced off against the Upside Down once, and they had barely lived to tell the tale. Heâd gotten to get out of Hawkins, away from all this shit. He probably wasnât thrilled that it was all starting back up again now that he was back.Â
âThis is so fucked, dude,â Dustin announced once heâd sat down on Eddieâs couch. His feet went up onto the coffee table reflexively; when had Dustin ever cared about manners? âI mean, seriously. Youâre never going to guess what happened to me, Max, Will, Mike, Joyce and Murray at the border. Some seriously fucked up shit.â He ran a hand through his messy hair and sighed. âCan I have a beer?â It was worth an ask, and after the last few days, Dustin felt like he deserved it.Â
âHow have you been, by the way? Iâm sorry I havenât come by sooner or anything. Just been busy with work and now being chased by a creature from another dimension. The fucking usual.âÂ

albeit horribly and riddled with nightmares, eddie had slept after the disaster at bennyâs. in fact, heâd passed out the minute heâd gotten back to the trailer, probably due to the adrenaline wearing off and the many injuries heâd sustained that night. which were still aching, a dull sort of pain, when he woke up.
he glanced at his radio alarm clock - it was noon, he realized, shit, heâd slept through most of the day. and now heâd woken up to the sound of pounding ont the front door. with a groan, eddie forced himself to get up, pulled a shirt over his head, pulling on a pair of shorts on his way to the door.Â
âdude, what the hell?â, heâd said, all bed-head, rubbing sleep out of his eyes and blinking, in confusion, when he âd realized that it was dustin whoâd knocked, not wayne who had forgotten his key or something. exchanging lazy yet excited greetings, heâd stepped away from the door, closing it behind dustin with a yawn.
fixing himself a cup of coffee, eddie concentrated hard on taking in dustinâs rambling. the kidâs chatter was a welcome noise, though. heâd missed him, of course he had. âwhat the hell are you on about?â, he mumbled, making his way to the couch to sit beside dustin.
âyo! get your damn feet of the coffee table, you heathen.â, he said with a scoff and a shake of his head. the shake of his head also indicating that dustin getting a beer wasnât going to happen anytime soon. eddie dragged a hand down his face. âhold up - wait - can you just, like, walk me through what happened and where? slowly, henderson ? â

steve smiled at eddieâs reaction, and he couldnât blame him. steve himself was a little surprised that he was dating eddie. he was dating him. that was real. king steve wouldnât believe it either if this had happened during high school, but he was too busy being an asshole to eddie. to everyone. it was weird to think about how he used to do that. he didnât like looking back to high school and be remembered of all of that. while in the end of their friendship he had blamed tommy hagan and carol for everything, the truth was that he was as much to blame as the two of them. he didnât even know why eddie had chosen to forgive him for allowing his friends to torment him, but⌠this was definitely going well for the two of them now. they were dating. and for as long as steve could predict, there was nothing that could separate them. and steve liked the idea of that - with nancy, there had always been doubts. with eddie, there was nothing in their way.
he had been lost in his thoughts. he kept his eyes glued to eddie. it was addicting to look at him and he couldnât get enough. he was glad that no one else had access to his thoughts, because he was pretty sure people would make fun of them. but steve really did like looking at eddie - and before all of this, he would do it when no one was watching. or at least, when he thought no one was watching. and now he was all his to look at for as long as he wanted. a small smile formed on his lips, not leaving his face for a long time as he watched his now boyfriend so close to him.
âi am not⌠a dork, eddie munson. i was popular because i was⌠co-captain of the swimming team and i was also in the basketball team. and⌠i had and still have great hair.â he said with a small chuckle, looking over at eddie with a smile. âi would have never joined hellfire club back then⌠but now, maybe⌠i would. for you. and you know, i would have to say that it was because of dustin too, or else he would be jealous.â he said with a small chuckle again, holding on to his chest for a few moments as he took a deep breath and looked at eddie. âspeaking of⌠dustin⌠have you talked to him? he seemed⌠pretty upset last i saw him.â he said with a sigh. the two cared too much about the kid, he was family for both of them at this point and they both hated when he was down, although it was sort of impossible not to be after what happened.
steve didnât like talking about his family, in fact, he hated it. he knew that eddie had meant well when he had brought it up, but he couldnât help but to be a little sad about it. he knew that most parents would visit their kid if they were in the hospital, but steveâs parents werenât like most. but that was another story for another day. he didnât feel like talking about. he looked over at eddie as he talked about wayne and his casserole, a small smile forming on his lips again as he heard him talk. steve knew that eddieâs parents werenât that present either, but at least eddie had wayne. and wayne was a sweetheart, from the interactions steve had with him. nodding his head with a smile, he looked at the other. âi⌠i would like that a lot, eddie. you can tell him⌠but only if itâs not⌠a burden to come visit me or whatever. i donât want to bother him.â he assured the other with a sigh.
+++
eddie waved it off with a dramatic eyeroll. âyeah, whatever you need to tell yourself, man. though i gotta agree with the great hair part. canât deny it, much as it wounds me.â a melodramatic sigh, it soon shifted and made way for a light-hearted chuckle as he lifted his hand to gently card his fingers through steveâs hair. awfully careful, so as not to pull too much and end up hurting him. âiâm afraid that best feature of yours has seen better days, sweetheart...â, he muttered, lips twisted into a pitying crooked smile as he absent-mindedly scissored his fingers to detangle a knot in his hair. âbut i got a couple of tricks up my sleeve. donât you worry, weâll get you back that title of steve âthe hairâ harrington in no time.â
he kept his hand there for a moment, contuing to detangle steveâs hair, eddie grinned, all wide and toothy. âyou would willingly join hellfire, huh?â the thought alone seemed outlandish, with a stifled chuckle eddie recalled the wheelerâs bbq, when steve had sat on his lap, looking all sorts of lost while eddie had attempted to explain the rules of dnd to him in hushed whispers. âyou know, thereâs no need to sweet talk me anymore, harrington. already got me wrapped around your finger.â
the mention of dustin brought that same worry wrinkle to his brows that was seemingly ever present on steveâs face, he nodded. âiâve seen him, yeah. he came by. heâs - heâs alright, i think. seemed fine. considering.â he twisted his lips into what was supposed to be a reassuring smile, yet eddie couldnât completely shake his worries off. the second heâd seen him and suzie go into that tent his heart had dropped, a feeling heâd not forget too soon. there was no parallel universe where eddie wouldnât worry about dustin. there was none in which he wouldnât care. there was a running joke, about how steve and later eddie had sort of adopted dustin. eddie didnât have any siblings, or none he knew of, but he rather thought that this was how one felt about a younger brother. a son, even, if you will.
eddie mirrored his smile, nodded too. âiâll let him know. itâs on his way, anyway. and he offered, so.â a shrug, eddie fell silent for a moment, simply looked at steve. it was as if he could feel his heart swell, and he wondered if it would always be like this when he looked at steve. when eddie spoke a couple of beats later his voice was soft, low. âyouâre so beautiful, steve.â and, adding a pained timbre to his voice, he added: âi was so worried. i ... still donât - iâm afraid this isnât real. does that make sense?â
steve: we... weren't alone back then
steve: i'm not mocking you and i'm not embarrassed, it's just... hard for me, okay?
steve: please don't go
eddie: i don't know, harrington, sounds a whole lot like you were embarrassed to me
eddie: you think this isn't hard for me? jesus.
eddie: if you really wanna talk, for whatever reason, then come over. i'm not doing this with you over walkie.
eddie: think i've been humiliated enough already.
