We toss out over 80 pounds of textiles each year. These textiles are often made of plastic materials (polyester, nylon), made in unethical conditions, dyed with harsh dyes that often get put into the rivers, etc. Even a single cotton shirt releases carbon emissions and uses tons of water. 

So the best thing to prevent the unsustainable growth of the fashion industry is to make sure that your clothing lasts as long as possible. To do so, mending clothing is a must. So here are some resources to help you learn how to do various things, such as sewing a button, to tailoring clothes, or even upcycling old clothing into new styles.

Titans part 4

Wow it’s been a while with this one! I wanted to sort of lay out a few good ideas for the first season of titans since I never touched it in my first posts. So without further ado here it is:

Let’s get this out of the way nightwing is nightwing from the very beginning no stupid still robin stuff he is nightwing and he moved out of Bruce’s manner.

Cory’s memory loss is fine but I want badass alien star so she is shipwrecked on earth and hiding from her crazy sister

Raven can keep her name for a civilian identity but she goes by her nickname raven, she stays the depressed goth kid who witnessed her moms murder.

And gar is mostly fine but I want to add some things to him since I only really remembering him being very bland, first he’s the theater kid, you don’t have to lie about green hair in theater dyed hair is the norm, but i don’t know if I want to put him in tech or as a actor. Nope great idea he’s in tech which makes him a jack of all traits, the April has a crane license in rottmnt.

Now I of course will now be adding the wonderful and amazing victor stone aka cyborg! Man I missed this guy, he was probably my favorite character in the animated show. He plays high school football and is friends with gar and knows about gars powers, he also knows raven from poetry club

In titans they also introduced Jason Todd as a recurring character but I don’t like that so we will push him to later

Time for PLOT!!!!

In the beginning not much will change for raven and dick, her mom still dies and dick is trying to help her get to a safe place and there being chased by something evil like demons that dick has been searching for for months

Now the deviations gar and victor and walking home from school and they are just about to meet up with victors dad, dr. Stone at his job when Cory’s ship crashes and victor gets caught in the blast, the group rushes him inside and dr. Stone has them bring him to his lab, cyborg is here!

Raven and dick also witness the crash and rush over to help by this time they where able to shake the demons but the crash makes them come back, they are getting destroyed by these demons when star sees them and comes out to help, cyborg is still processing what just happened with his dad and gar, somehow they end up coming to the conclusion that since gar and his family knows a lot about being an outsider cyborg might stay with them a while, we have a heartfelt scene with cyborg and his dad before

Star crashes into the window after being thrown by the demons!

Star gave the group an upper hand but after a while it wasn’t enough, gar and cyborg now join and we get a epic fighting as a team battle

Afterwords dr. Stone comes out to see if his son is ok and recognizes dick from the many times he has worked with Batman, and we have a catch up scene with the group and they realize that there are going to be a lot more demons and someone need to stop them this transitions into the titans tower and the team is now formed.

This is rather a two part episode with more plot I didn’t go over or above is part 1 and below is part 2

Titans tower is an old Wayne building that is sadly unprepared for its new job so dick calls Alfred, no not Bruce he’s still mad at Bruce for whatever reason, Alfred can’t make it so he sends Jason to drop of the stuff instead.

Now time for Jason Todd, now you might ask oh egglantine how will you integrate Jason one of your favorite Battfam members into the story?

I won’t

Yea I love the guy but this is titans and in order to avoid the transition into a Batman show Jason Todd will not be a recurring character. There will be cameos but any story that involves him will be a dick Grayson storyline.

I actually have the idea that as the show progresses the Batfam will be more comic relief or a running gag of no one knows how many siblings dick actually has and dick never tells

*titans in a later season calling batcave* Dick: hi Jason! Gar: wait Jason!! I thought he was dead!!! Jason eating a bagel: yea I’ve been good for like 6 years now Dick: that time you tried to kill us was pretty crazy though 😊 Titans: 😦

I love making us an ocs it’s part of my enjoyment of media sometimes there story altering and change huge chunks of the story and sometimes there small joke ocs that have little to no baring on the plot, and sometimes there an oc that is active in the story but the plot doesn’t change all that much.

Like my ATLA oc Mebh in the context of the show she has very little say in the story. And that on purpose I love avatar and I wouldn’t want to change it in a au and risk butchering it’s themes and story. After avatar and lok however are free rain in my mind. So here’s my atla au.

The spirit would in my mind is a bridge between other worlds it has many connections to many different places

One of those places is the world of the avatar and then there’s the world of witch’s

Mebh grew up in this world where magic and spells rain supreme, but magic is extremely difficult and laws limit it’s use to the upper classes with people having to go to extremely expensive schools and gain permission from the raining sovereign to practice magic

Mebh is a lower class girl from a small town

In the beginning of the series we would know nothing about her backstory just know she practiced magic illegally and got stuck in the world of avatar along with her familiar a owl griffin named peaches

Lost she runs into Zuko and Iroh during the first year of his banishment, she saves there lives from something and iroh decides to help her and she joins them on the ship

Mebh doesn’t ever help zuko on his journey to find the avatar, even after they find aang, but she never hinders it she just there to hangout with iroh and go through iroh therapy

She’s not really out of place and you can just assume for the most part that she’s a non bender with a weird look

She has light red hair that she keeps in two long braids and her clothes are a mix of fire nation, earth nation, and a earasaid so yea she stands out

Before the raid of the northern water tribe her magic is hinted at but due to how different it is she still only practices it In secret but now with the help of iroh who helps her figure out spells and magic

During the raid on the northern water tribe she mostly stays with iroh until the moon spirit scene

Mebhs people hold the moon in very high regard and credit it as there patron so when general zhao kills it she immediately attacks him with magic and only stopping when aang and the ocean spirit work together

After this her secret is out and she uses magic a lot more

DC Titans Part 1

Ok so I actually watched Titans a while ago but I’m seeing it a lot more on tik tok and I have been thinking about it quite a bit lately because of it. so before I get into whatever is in my brain

1. I really don't like Titans as a show, I only watched the first season and already I did not like it. like the final “battle” (if you could even call it that) was basically a very boring argument between a girl and her dad.

2. while I wasn't a fan of his character before the show, I am now and I really don't like how Jason Todd is treated in the show.

so now because I have been thinking about this I have been sort of rewriting Titans in my head so I'm here to get those thoughts out. 

ill start with Jason, I cant do much about the first season and frankly I don't know enough about trigon or the story to care, so sadly we are keeping it because i think its a good jumping off point for what i want to do. so when ever Titans stuff is discussed Jason gets really exited and happy him being apert of something gives him joy and yes he can get carried away, he’s a street kid from Gotham probably the only safe place for him was in public spaces and he probably was raised by the prostitutes and homeless people of the area. so I think his motivation is more trying to find a home that doesn't reject him.

so first of all Jason is a HUGE book nerd, his favorite book is Pride & Prejudice for crying out loud, so he didn't know how long he would be staying in San Francisco so he only brought like 7 books. I know that seams like a lot but I headcannon him to be able to read like a long chapter book in like 2 or 3 days. so he doesn't have his normal library with him. now I am going to introduce a OC that I made named Saoirse, she’s a girl he met when he first went to the fancy school in Gotham after getting adopted by Bruce. She was a foreign exchange student from Ireland and ill make a separate post about her after this one.

Jason and Saoirse have been friends for a long time and for his first few months in San Francisco they didn’t talk but after the hole trigon thing he starts to talk to her again. she knows he is Robin and Bruce is kind of ok with it because she is a blue Lantern in training. anyway he talks to her about all the stuff going on in San Francisco and to surprise him she sends a care package with a couple books, snacks, and some bookmarks. Dick sees Jason bring the package into his room and follows him, and because its Titans probably thinking the worst.

Dick sees Jason on a video call with Saoirse and opening the package getting really exited about the new books and she even got him a copy of the book there book club is reading. after the call ends Dick makes his presence known asking who Saoirse is. Jason starts acting defensively trying to get Dick out of his room. it ends with Jason telling him that she’s his friend and even a little bonding moment between the two. in the scene I want to show how smart Jason actually is with questions about books and we start to really get to know Jason.

now I’m still going to go the Deathstrock route because I want drama with Rose and Saoirse. so after Jason almost dies he doesn't talk to Saoirse for a little bit. but after starting his relationship with Rose he calls her and one apologizes for the radio silence he was depressed, she understands and validates his emotions wile still telling him that she is always able to talk to him LIKE A GOOD FREIND WOULD, excitedly he tells her about Rose and how he wishes she where here so he could introduce them. and she informs him that she was planning on flying to San Francisco that night and stay at a friend's place in order to surprise him.

now from my very limited exposure to Titans season 2 I know that the team breaks up at some point and that Rose and Jason are very toxic. so Saoirse arrives before the team breaks up but after the crosses on the mirrors incident. I think when Jason told Rose that Saoirse was coming she made a scene about how he’s never talked about this Saoirse before. I think she does this in front of everyone else and they gang up on him for nothing. he basically stays quiet and says when lunch is and that he need to pick Saoirse up from the airport leaving.

him and Saoirse go to the lunch they had planned and Rose doesn't show up they end up eating anyway and they decide to go back to Titans tower because Jason just assumes Rose wasn't feeling very good. when they get there the team try to confront Jason, its worth noting the Titans don't notice Saoirse there,   saying things like “who is this Saoirse girl”, “why is he keeping secrets”, and I think hank would make some rude remark about Saoirse pretty much based on nothing.

that's when Saoirse makes herself known and introduces herself. now before this we don't see a lot of Saoirse just her voice bit her look has been obscured  so this is sort of a reveal scene. she is a 5 foot tall girl with frizzy bright red hair, cute gold glasses that look strait out of a fantasy book, a brightly colored crochet cardigan over a cottagecore, witchy outfit and red lace up leather boots her grandfather made her.

I think this is when Dick enters the scene and politely invites her in while everyone is getting over the initial shook of the moment. they sit on the couch and talk Saoirse answers questions like how she knows Jason by Gar, I think Dawn would ask her questions that bring up the fact she is a pagan witch, she lives in Ireland buts stays on her grandfathers farm for most of the summer, and her love of crochet and books. Rose shows up Jason introduces her to Saoirse but Rose stays quiet for a little bit before asking about the ring on her finger. Jason is a little alarmed by this and makes a small inoffensive comment about Rose skipping any introduction. Saoirse says its fine revealing her blue lantern ring and showing it to Rose and the group.

Kori probably says something about how she’s heard of a Green and Red Lantern but not a Blue one. this prompts Saoirse into explaining all about the Blue Lanterns, a topic she is very interested in. someone probably asks if she’s a hero and she says something like “No. No. No. No, I could never be a vigilante like any of you guys or Hal or John or... does Guy count, yea he counts. I’d cant use my ring like a green lantern could and even if I could I’d much rather teach than fight bad guys.” now most of the Titans didn’t know Saoirse knew they where vigilantes and the mood sours and she continues “OH! I forgot, yea I know who you guys are, John one of the green Lanterns told me, I hope that's ok.” 

this calms some people down and I think Donna says something like its fine and that Diana trusts John so she will to. after Dinner Saoirse goes back to the place she is staying and there is some talk around Titans about Jason’s friend. Jason probably tries to talk to Rose about what happened but she avoids the topic and it ends in a small fight. Jason and sometimes Gar leave and hangout with Saoirse. Jason invites Rose but she declines overtime, and because i think Jason is actually trying in this relationship he tries to politely confront Rose about this but it always ends in a fight, Rose ignoring the topic, or Rose trying to distract from the topic.

I have more but this is really long so this is part 1

I wish that I could consistently write things about my au ideas because my brain is just absolutely full of aus an ocs for just about every hyper fixation I have ever had and I just want to get them out! Yes some of them are trash(ok maybe most of them) but I'm legitimately proud of some like molly, I feel like molly is a good one if a bit boring. And now Im re-working my Celtic gods au story since I realized that if I read it on ao3 I would find It boring and uninteresting.

I have some very important headcanons about sge and I need to get them out now.

So you know how Wendy darling Is horts mom. No well she is, and I find that really interesting especially since horts dad was a part of hooks crew and after hooks death was second in command and Peter Pan is credited with killing horts dad, his name is apparently George scourie, although George is Wendy’s dads name so I don’t think that is right so I’m renaming him Will. Now i think that some how after there fairytale Wendy took over hooks ship and became the new captain introducing real historical piracy instead of hooks dictator style. Wendy and Peter become enemies and Will is her second(first mate). So when Wendy can’t return to neverland Peter kills her husband. Wendy ends up separated from the people she loves and because I love drama she is pregnant with her and George’s second child.

First some math. The story is roughly set around 1904 but I’m saying it’s 1906 and Wendy is 13 same as Peter, when we see Peter in the books I interpret him to be around 50 years old. So we will say that 40 years have passed, this means that for Wendy it’s 1946 the year after ww2 when she finally makes it back.

So timeline, in 1906 the Peter Pan story takes place, after the story Wendy and her brothers travel between their world and Neverland.

1909: Wendy gets really mad at Peter and storms off meeting Will(scourie) the newest member of hooks crew(he’s one year older than Wendy) they don’t start a romance but become fast friends. They teach each other things like Scourie teaches Wendy how to fight and everything about being a pirate and ships. Wendy teaches Scourie math and philosophy (as those are his favorite) as well as the history of pirates in her world. This also starts Wendy putting into question the whole concept of Evers and Nevers and confronting both her own bies in her world and neverland, as well as finding and understanding the failings of the system.

1911:on the day Wendy and Scourie finally get together Peter finds out about Wendy and Scourie and because this Peter is a incel he decides that in the middle of a fight with Captain Hook in order to distract hook he exposes them. Hook is enraged by this and goes to kill Scourie but Wendy jumps in and duels hook and actually ends up killing him. Because Wendy killed hook she becomes the new captain of the jolly Rodger. Peter initially starts talking to Wendy about how he knew she could do it and trying to manipulate her into coming back and dumping Scourie and how she should’ve never been with him because she’s an ever and he’s a never. But Wendy doesn’t believe in that and she has seen that the divide between Evers and Nevers isn’t real and is steeped in classism and corrupt ideas. While Peter was talking Wendy was frozen almost unable to speak but her brothers come over and snap her out of the trance and both back her up when she accepts being captain and takes control of her crew and ship chasing Peter off the ship.

1917: Wendy gets a new quartermaster named Sasha

1920: Mr. Smee retires and Scourie becomes Wendy’s first mate and John becomes the doctor. In there home world John was a medic during ww1

1922: Michael went to culinary school and is a chef back home and the cook on the ship.

1925: Wendy and Scourie get married Michael is the maid of honor and John and another crew member named Bonnie are brides maids, Sasha officiates.

1930: threw out all of this Peter has been fighting Wendy and her crew off and on threw out the years and falsely blames them for him aging. Hort is born named Horace “Hort” George Scourie Darling. Hort doesn’t know his full name just the nickname since his dad died when he was young and Scourie was really depressed after Wendy was taken and had a hard time talking about her, Hort was to young to remember this and was left to assume a lot of things about his mom.

1933: Wendy when pregnant with her second baby she and her brothers are forced to return home due to a curse Peter had someone put on them. She names her daughter Willa Mary Scourie darling.

1937:Scourie is killed by Peter and hort is taken in by Sasha until he goes to school, Sasha isn’t very motherly.

1946: during the last ever after Morgan le fey crashes the meeting at Guinevere and Lancelot’s place with her daughter and ends up getting frustrated with some of the fairy tale heroes that are there. So she decides to bring her own, Alice (who never left wonderland and had also traveled through time when she first fell into wonderland is age 18), the Gerda and kai from the original snow queen (in their early 50s and happy together), and the darling family. Later on Clara from the nutcracker shows up but that’s for another post. Wendy notices hort first and starts hugging him and it’s a very tearful reunion until she calls him Horace and he gets confused for a second there. Sophie probably mention something about how the Wendy darling is horts mother and he never told her, while also questioning it because she in this part of the books isn’t able to understand how a hero like Wendy could be married to horts pirate father, just wait till she finds out that Wendy is a pirate captain.

Willa is also confused as while she knew she had a dad and brother she just assumed both were dead. And when Wendy starts looking for and asking about Scourie she finds out that Peter killed him and is devastated. With terrible timing Peter walks into the room and Wendy attacks him crying about her husband. Both Morgan and Merlin have to restrain her and Michael(who ready to help his sister torture and/or kill Peter, John was planning the escape plan and how get away with the murder). The three darlings swear not to fight Peter until after they save the world.

During the pair-up’s instead of pairing up with hort her son she helps lance with Tedros since she is an amazing leader. Michael ends up with dot and red also bonding over similar tastes in men and starts swapping recipes with red. John and Kai end up talking to Guinevere, Gerda pairs with hort and Peter and teaches hort some detective skills. Alice joins Cinderella and Agatha but keeps giving advice in riddles which Agatha finds confusing.

A small side tangent the snow queen is not working with Rafal as Gerda and Kai don’t defeat or confront her she just leaves Kai to die because she got bored, she might show up in Camelot years head cannons.

None of Morgan’s hero’s went to the school for good and evil and most don’t fall into the traditional divide of ever and never. They join the final battle and afterwards Wendy and John are asked to teach at the school and Michael gets a job as cook. They accept so they can stay near hort.

That’s enough for now but I do want to add more to this.

ESHONAI IS OK!! I have been on tumblr (finals!) so I just saw this! I’m so happy you added more, your writing and world building are amazing!

While reading this I was reminded of the funny idea I had that was the original inspiration for the bear on her hammer and made me want to draw the armor. (Spoiler warning for wor just in case)

It’s basically that when Szeth first try’s to assassinate Dalinar, after the battle between szeth, Adolin, Dalinar, and Kaladin. Hesina and maybe Lirin somehow witnesses szeth and kaladins one on one portion at the end. Of course before Szeth runs away Hesina gos full mama bear and chases Szeth back into the palace while lirin goes all surgeon/worried dad mode on Kaladin.

Here’s the vision. The terrifying assassin in white is flying through the castle straight toward the kholins!

Oh no he must haven't defeated Kaladin and is back to finish the job! But nope he wins past them and quickly turns a corner.

A couple seconds later Hesina in full shardplate and hammer, glowing and moving the freaking stone under her and she goes “Where is he.” In that terrifying voice that warrants a close up on the eyes.

I mean at that point you just point to where Szeth went and hope you soil your pants! Of course Hesina gives a polite thank you and she’s back to running and yelling about how Szeth will pay for what he did to her precious baby boy Kal! (The more embarrassing the nickname the better)

Bonus points if this is most of the kholins first interaction with Hesina and even Shallon and Adolin don’t recognize her at first with the helmet on.

So yea this is what gave me the idea for all the bear elements and to design the armor. Well this and the way she pushed Adolin to get to Kaladin. Although if I’m being honest the “Mom” moment was want inspired me in the first place this idea came while sketching.

while hesina and Lirin were travelling with the band of freed slaves the two were loosely in charge, but decent enough at delegating that other people quickly took on major leadership rules.

erk. gonna need a bunch of ocs

layla, 8th dan before being sold to pay family debts. quartermaster/ house steward role. roughly same age as hesina. worked mostly as a house slave.

she had actually managed to half pay off her slave price, something she gripes about for laughs, she could have bought cool stuff with that money. most of the money came from the child she had, who was sold as a baby, wouldn't be able to find it if she wanted to, and she's not even completely sure she does.

layla is fascinated by different peoples religions, languages, beliefs...she's met people from a surprising number of countries working as a lighteye's servant. mostly self taught reading, hesina teachers her to write. hesina and her talk a lot about religion and philosophy. one of the few people who doesn't put hesina on a pedestal. hesina's first squire.

it seems that the squire rules are different for each order. i'm wildly but confidently headcanoning that willshapers get exactly ten, and they can tangibly feel each squire bond being formed.

willshapers have an interesting relationship to Connection. Connections can free you. Connections can become chains. best to be aware. either side of the willshapers squire bond can break the connection at any time.

(willshapers also have an interesting relationship to Oaths. Oaths can very definitely become chains. they just... i mean oaths still matter, but they don't take breaking them as seriously as some of the orders. circumstances matter. people grow. the spren once vowed not to bond with the singers again, and yet...it's been millenia. The lightspren are thinking. Things have changed.)

they're not freeing people because they made an oath. They made an oath because they chose to free people.

Ruush, 5th dahn before being enslaved for refusing to follow orders. One of the only ones with actual military training, though his leg was broken and healed wrong, meaning that he could only train, not fight, until he became hesina's second squire and healed.

Often Lirin's guard. Only 15 years younger than Lirin, but has for sure called him dad. Lirin calls him son and tries not to lecture him too much on being a soldier.

Ruush is mildly bemused by the entire concept of pacifism (Not common among Alethi!) and listens very patiently, with genuine if slightly abstract interest. i mean, you gotta admit, violence does beget violence. wild. anyway, back to work.

Has heard enough stories about Tien and Kaladin that he pretty much thinks of them as his brothers.

When kaladin and him finally meet kal is... mostly cool with that (sure, this might as well happen. can't have too many brothers). but there is significant disagreement over who's oldest.

shortly before making it to Urithiru oathgate they run into the listeners. layla and ruush hastily throw up some walls between them while Hesina tries to communicate that she comes in peace. The listeners scramble to get Eshonai to translate.

it takes some time to talk. the translation process with the council of five. mistrust on both sides. lirin gives an impassioned speech about wanting to be free from violence, and some listeners swear they could almost hear the man attuning to the rhythm of hope.

Eshonai gives her plate and blade to Thule before traveling to Urithiru. Venli calls her a fool. The council approves. This might be their one last chance.

Eshonai returns full of enthusiasm. This is it. They could escape. They would still need gems to make the fields grow, but the Neshua Kadal leader women and her mate have been robbing other humans blind while traveling. This could work.

Venli presents her own radical idea, storm form, a form of power.

Maybe two thirds of the listeners take the chance on Urithiru.

A third stay on the shattered plains to fight for vengeance to the bitter end.

Listeners slightly outnumber human population. People learn quickly that any violence gets randomly duplicated, which Lirin is weirdly smug about. Eshonai spends a lot of time on language lessons.

After sitting down and talking it out, they eventually decide to make a council of ten — 5 humans, 5 listeners. Hesina's lightspren is given the deciding vote if they tie.

They need each other too much to operate separately, even if the place is technically big enough.

Over the course of a month they actually settle into a decent routine. There's some mistrust, but Eshonai manages to explain fairly eloquently why they decided to kill the king, fearing being enslaved by the return of the gods

yeah the humans can get that. we don't really care about the king anyway.

the parshendi were shocked by how brutally and disproportionately the Alethi responded

tell me about it. i once scratched a window and was beaten until i couldn't walk.

Really, things are promising, common ground, willingness to move forward together.

Layla draws her own lightspern to much rejoicing, reaching the third oath, so now they can move between the oathgates without worrying about leaving people trapped in Urithiru without Hesina.

Eshenoi swears her own first oath!! even more rejoicing!!! listener and dark eyes going together into the future freely and equally.

if only they could convince Venli's revenge splinter group to join them. of course everyone wants vengeance but... they want to live more. they want to live for more.

the 'stormform' group is going to get themselves killed. and if somehow they don't... fear grows that the songs, the warnings about forms of power — they were for exactly this moment but what are they going to do? attack their own people?

The radiants alternate going out on a few more raids, freeing more slaves. They also bring stolen parchmen now, which they had mostly decided to leave behind in past raids, as they wouldn't really help in their own escapes at all, and everyone felt bad continuing to treat as slaves even if they come with, but they just...stand there. The Listeners are continuously baffled by them.

Some humans think about another few thousand years of their children and their children's children and their children being tenth dahn eternally ... they know humans who are dead behind the eyes and stormfather. If you bred for that...

(a storm is coming and things are going to get messy but those who were there will look back on these months and know how important they were. when the lighteyes come and the singers come things will change. but for a moment there was something beautiful and almost pure. and those foundations will matter more than anyone could possibly imagine)

Did some art
