Yang Jungwon was usually good at sleeping through the night, especially when he had you tucked into his embrace. But his eyes fluttered open, a soft groan falling from his lips, as he saw the rusted night sky outside the bedroom window. 

Careful to not bother you—who slept so soundly on his chest—he reached for his phone on the nightstand. With a quick double tap, the time 00:01 flashed in his light-sensitive eyes. 

Relief befell him at the sight of the time; plenty of time left to snooze. 

A small smile graced his face as he tightened his hold around you, ready to settle in for a hearty eight or so more hours. He could feel himself start to relax and match his heartbeat with yours… slower and slower… until—

The thought popped into his head like the flicking of a light switch. 

"Honey," he crooned to you softly. 

You stirred. "Mm?" Your hand gripped onto the fabric of his T-shirt, and Jungwon cooed at how cute you were. Perhaps he had just disturbed your peace, but it was all for good reason. 

He pressed his lips to the crown of your head. "It's your birthday. Happy birthday, my love."

The words hadn't quite sunken into your half-sleep conscience, but you murmured a "thank you" to him anyway. 

He chuckled, biting a smile back. Then he gently cupped his hand over the back of your head and closed his eyes. When he awoke later, he would happily say it to you again.

as mentioned here, jay likes to pick out your perfume of the day. he prefers scents such as vanilla and lavender because they’re calming and not harsh to the nose. perfume is a gift jay doesn’t buy too often because even if he can afford to buy you a new fragrance every day if he wanted to but he believes that scents should be appreciated and it’s not good to mix too many of them all at once.

type: minimalistic and personalized

jay is a man of class and while people are aware of his wealth it’s never something that he actively tries to advertise like those with big flashy brand logos just screaming for attention. he’s a humble man and he doesn’t see a need to prove to people that he has money. when it comes to gifting you jewelry, he doesn’t want it to take attention away from your beauty so a more minimalistic style is fitting. he likes to personalize the jewelry he gives you. whether it’s including a “j” charm, engraving his initials or a special date, or outright designing the piece himself. he’ll usually gift you necklaces because you already have a wedding and engagement ring and bracelets tend to just get in the way whenever you need to do work.

SWEET TREATS (from other countries)

as a ceo, it’s a given that jay goes on business trips. also, one of his primary love languages is food! before his business trip ends, jay will usually go to a shop that sells candies and treats to find two to three things that neither of you have tried before. he’ll bring it home so that you can try something new together and it’s a fun experience for you both.
