Had an extremely random thought about Filbrick Pines that escalated way too quickly and i wanted to share. Also this is extremely scrambled writing so i apologize if i sound confusing
TW: canonical and implied child abuse
Ever since his first appearance in Dreamscapers, it’s clear that even after everything he endured from the man, Stan extremely respects him (even when he sounds uncomfortable when Ford compares him to their father at the “you look like dad”). Considering they were children in 1950, gender roles dictated that the men were “the owners of the house”, “the breadwinners” aka the main order and assertiveness of the house. Seeing that Ford was more “favoured” over his intelligence, no wonder Stan constantly tried to reach his father’s approval (Stan seems to have a very close bond with his mother, but that was what women were “expected" to do with their children, and both of them clearly suffered from the want of trying to fit in society’s standards in the year - especially with their father’s and peers pressure).
x
If we only watch the show we only get some snippets of their parents and how they act, but we still think that the decision of him disowning Stan and kicking him out was excessive (especially considering he was just 17 and didn’t even finish highschool). But if we read Lost Legends and “thisisnotawebsite.com” we get a broader vision of their childhood and-
x x
Look at this shit.
He always seemed to have a dislike towards Stan ever since he was born, calling him “Extra-Stan”, “screwup”, “riding in his brother’s coattail” and making him take the blame without even hearing out first (which in this case, is true, but still). Considering it was only in 1958 that ultrasounds managed to visualize better the pregnancy and the thought of “one more mouth to feed” (which is actually ironic, considering that in the 50s, middle class families could - surprisingly - afford a lot of things and that was when the inflation was minimal and workers wages were rising). But if we look at it at a religious point, twins can be seen as a form of good or bad luck; or in some cases, embody the dualistic nature between good and evil.
Which when you compare it to the main teachings of Judaism (from what i researched, please tell me if it's wrong and I'll immediately edit/delete this part) is that:
“Judaism values children and childhood as perhaps the most pure form of being created in God's image” and “Parents who hit their younger children risk injuring them both physically and emotionally, and injuring a child is forbidden by Jewish law. Doing so also constitutes an offense against common decency” – x
“Parents teach their children by setting a worthy example of commitment to family, community, and to the sacred tradition of Judaism for them to follow in their own lives.” - x
Ofc there might’ve been some elements that might have made him “raise his hand” or “be tougher to his children” (which is a really bad excuse from abusive parents). The thing is that, when Stan and Ford give him back his golden watch, when Ford gets an opportunity to go to West Coast Tech, when Stan starts defending himself; he genuinely looks fond of them, impressed and even slightly “happy” for them in his own way. Which just makes this situation even worse. It’s common in dysfunctional homes for a parent to verbally/physically hurt their children then claim to love them; either as a form of gaslighting, control or the fact that they genuinely think that they’re helping you (it isn't. It really isn’t. Cut these people off immediately when you can). The worst thing is that you can have “good moments” with your abuser, which might make you think that it isn’t “that serious”. Especially in the age of the 1900s and in-between, the amount of legal issues and cases that were easily dismissed because of the conservative upbringing only helped these types of behaviour and abuse to not be taken as seriously as it should - especially when it came from the so-called “community man”.
However, that brings up the question of his past. Considering he was in his forties in 1960s (according to the wiki) he was probably born between 1920s and 1930s (and holy shit the cases of child neglect because it wasn’t seen as a “real concern”, and when they started making law for this they were usually ignored or not able to reach them. And the rise of feminism too!). He would’ve been born right after WW1, it would explain why he’s so obsessed with money (postwar America suffered from the loss of money and resources) and why he acts the way he does (generational trauma or the “children copy their parents” thing).
AND THAT FINALLY BRINGS ME TO THE MAIN QUESTION OF WHAT SPIRALLED ALL OF THIS.
Did Filbrick treat Stan that way because he reminds him of himself??
Think about it. Unfortunately, I didn't find the study that said it, but some parents tend to favour other children or the “better twin” in this case, because their/the other child reminds them too much of themselves and their worst parts. Some relatives even want you to repeat their actions just so you can suffer the same life as them - steaming from jealousy and envy at your “freedom”. Imagine little Stanley, with chubby freckled cheeks, reaching his father’s midtigh, who is so curious and adventurous about the world, who loved drawing and reading comics, showing off his tooth gap when he smiled. Imagine that as Filbrick - before whatever happened to him, or the way he was raised, or he’s just the fucking bastard that he is.
Imagine him being a twin, too. Holy shit, either as a younger or older brother. Either being compared to his older brother who was the same as Ford, or getting distant from his sibling because of their different treatment, or his parents doing what he did to Stan to their siblings and thinking that this was “normal”. It brings so many questions to his character. With this in mind, it would make sense why he’s so “”””hard and tough””” on Stan (not that Ford escaped the abuse, maybe not physical, but definitely the pressure of trying to keep their father calm or doing well for the family; and perhaps the slightest hint of being responsible for his brother at a young age as he was the most “mature” out of them). It brings such another layer to their relationship.
And for my fellow Stancest enjoyers (i did not forget any of you!), i feel like him having a twin would make the situation so, so much worse. Him seeing his sons being as close as he was to his siblings on their childhood, him trying to slowly separate them, constantly dismissive of Stan because of how similar they are, only listening to Ford when it was worth it or necessary because he also reminds him of his other half, hating any kind of affection between them because “they’re men” and “what would people think” (the same words someone once said to him), how they need to be more independent, reminiscing and resenting every single moment he spent with his twin or outright blocking him from his family and/or memory, imagine if his twin was kicked out of their house because of their relationship? Or what if it was him that got disowned from their family? Him taking all the brunt of their family’s abuse and how “it’s for your own good”. The amount of scenarios this could cause and bring, if anything, he would’ve been so much harsher to them. Not only would they suffer their father’s wrath, they would suffer social prejudice and be a permanent stain to their family. (I apologize for the few scenarios, or else this would get too long.)
The more i think about this man the more I disliked him, if he had or not a bad childhood, he is an adult. Yes, you can sympathize with his (extremely hypothetical past that i created) childhood - especially with the time he was born, it was shit dude - but your actions after are yours and yours alone. It doesn’t excuse how you act in the present. You don’t get to be an asshole or let your past define you (of course, healing isn’t an easy path and not everyone is able to do therapy, but i think you’ll get what i’m trying to say here). Much less with your own children, you might have been a child once, but so were they; and they’ll live with the same pain you suffered and that you now inflicted on them. THAT is your fault and your responsibility alone.
And that’s what makes Stan and Ford growth on the series so satisfying to watch, the both of them clearly care for the kids and for each other, and now that they’re on the Stan’o’War there’s going to be so much learning from each other, getting close again, there’s going to be healing. They chose to do good by the people around them, and that’s so nice to see them letting go of their insecurities and the internalized hurt caused from their past.
Some self indulgent doodles of pregnant Stan inspired once again by my amazing friend @mirrorworldangel (I hope you're doing well my friend!!)
Also I believe from the bottom of my soul that he would have the most ridiculous decour if he was able to afford it, man's canonically a diva when he wants to be i had to make him justice.
Ilumi, I'm having a dilemma since yesterday and I need your advice on this! While sketching some artworks, I suddenly have a realisation on Aster & Anne Nieve's relationship! The more I try to bury it down and deny it, the more it claws my soul!
As we both know, Aster is so traumatised by his parent's tragic relationship that he has vowed himself to make sure no other version will suffer the same way again. He never understood why they would risk it all and hurt themselves worse, even when both of them were aware of the risks.
And then he meets Anne Nieve. Now he understands why.
As they get closer, their affection for one another blossoms. The signs of love are obvious, and though Aster may try, his heart cannot ignore it.
Aster and Anne Nieve wanted the love they deserved, but they were aware of the horrible past of their parents that birthed them. They know their love for the other is reciprocated, but they cannot act on it.
And now the history books of the shelves are repeating itself once again...
Holy shit this is becoming like the Time Traveller's Wife plotline here! Should I continue this or change it? Help!!! DX
Btw, to clarify the last ask, being Afterlife Retired means he's literally dead and cannot walk/interact on living soil. To get there, they must have something from that place in order to visit Aster (ex. a small vial of the beach sand)
Hello Mirror! I apologize for my late answer because i- may or may not have gone a bit overboard with my answer, but in my defense this was very interesting to analyze! I'm tagging you in case you don't see it @mirrorworldangel
Hoooh boy where do i even begin with this one. My friend, I never ever considered these two together, so it was definitely a pleasant surprise when this brick hit me square in the face. And honestly? The more I think about these two together, they could actually work! Anne Nieve seeing Aster as her guardian angel, Aster trusting Cleopatra (his literal daughter-figure and longtime companion, mind you) to Anee; it’s obvious that these two possess a really strong bond. Not only that, the both of them share a similar past - which would have strengthened their bond significantly, they both understand each other on a deep level when it comes to that.
“He never understood why they would risk it all and hurt themselves worse… and then he meets Anne Nieve. Now he understands why.” Oh Mirror, as an avid angst lover, please allow me to join this wagon. Man, both of them being terrified of going through what their parents went through (a justifiable gear, Aster literally lost his dimension because of it). For some reason I feel like it’s Aster that would try to push down his feelings more. This man has seen and lived some things, not only does he have mental scars, he also has physical scars. One of the main factors of his character is how much he yearns and fights for his family. I wouldn’t exactly say that he sees Anne Nieve as a form of redemption or a “way to fix his problems” (hell no, he respects her a lot to even go into that territory), I'd say he’s… apprehensive, a bit scared too.
Anne Nieve is a star (not only in ballet and celebrity world, but in his eyes too), she’s social and educated, she has a life and dreams, she has so much going on for her, she deserves better and everything - which just makes him not want to act on his feelings even more. Aster is old beyond his years, what does he have to offer to her? Even entertaining the idea only serves to make him feel worse. Anne Nieve is his little sister, someone he trusts and adores, so many things could go wrong and he doesn’t want to lose that bond. The possibility of tying Anne Nieve down or even passing down his cardiac problems to children is terrifying, even if he’s dead (for some reason. I can't help but remember Blade Runner 2049 at that). For him, those feelings were merely formed because of their shared trauma.
Ough, forgive me if I'm wrong, but Anne Nieve gives me the vibes to mull over her feelings. Not loud, but like internally (and because who would take her seriously? Her? Having romantic feelings for her half-brother? Anyone would be extremely worried about that). I feel like she’ll also repress but be more… I wouldn't say completely welcoming to them, but she’s more open to what she feels compared to Aster. Unlike Aster, I would argue that she does indulge in her feelings/fantasies, because that’s all they are, fantasies. Anne Nieve is observant, she’s assertive, and Aster knows that. So man, both of them hiding their feelings would be a hell of a conflict.
Aster technically saved her life, if it weren’t for him, she’ll probably be dead (which is, unnerving to think about to be honest, imagine how different their paths and lives would’ve been if they didn’t meet each other). That definitely would mess her up and how she feels about her feelings? Are they actually genuine or something formed out of the debt that she feels she owns to Aster? So many questions and little answers from both sides.
For some reason, she reminds me of a dove and a swan. Not just because of her dancing abilities and her calm personality, but also because most of the time, it’s the woman that chooses her partners. Not only that, physical touches actually strengthen their relationships, and they’re known for mating/staying together for life. So between the two of them, she wouldn’t outright tell Aster, but hell when it comes to them showing the barest form of vulnerability to this possible romance, it’s her (my girl kicked him out of her apartment in the middle of a snowstorm, she knows what she wants, but she wouldn’t corner him because of that).
Needless to say, the pining, yearning and a bit of miscommunication are going HARD on this one. My friend, I can't exactly or 100% say whether you should change it or continue as I don't exactly know much about the story that you’re writing…
HOWEVER, this is one hell of something interesting to explore, be it in a one shot, an AU or analysis of their relationship and individual selves, I would tell you to continue it (because- i’m curious (〃゚-゚〃) and i want to see both of them suffering before getting to their happy ending - IF THEY EVEN HAVE ONE, THAT IS). God, it would take both of them so long to even allow themselves to feel they deserve this type of happiness with each other. Man this was such a fun question to wonder about, thank you for sharing it! Definitely curious with whatever you have planned for these two *i think with malicious intent*
Me: man I wanna take a break from the comics, what do I do??
My mind: Make another comic
Me: holy shit splendid idea
This one was inspired and based on my friend @mirrorworldangel post which can be found here! Featuring baby Paz and Stan somehow acquiring more kids than he wanted
Also something you must know, anytime I draw this man looking fabulous, you should be aware that he's also wearing the most ridiculous slippers under his dresses
@mirrorworldangel
Oh my god
I don't even know what to say omg
My friend, once again you have blessed me with your presence because this is absolutely beautiful. This was the first thing I saw the moment I woke up and I had to take 2 laps around my house of how excited I was seeing this, and then ANOTHER ONE WHEN I REALISED THERE WAS A DOC!!!! YOU HAD ME SQUEALING AND SCREAMING FROM HOW EXCITED I WAS READING THIS!!!
Beautifully written your creativity never ceases to impress me omg!!! Thank you so much for the support, and also take care of yourself too!! I'll be waiting for you with the uttermost patience :D!!
Omg their designs, Pinington looking so tired, Forrestor shock, I can't believe you turned my silly rambling into this amazing plot/story. I AM SENDING MENTAL KISSES DIRECTLY ON YOUR FOREHEAD!!! THIS IS AMAZING!!!!! Bill being a parasitic baby??? That's some "Rosemary Baby" shit omg, the Ciphertologists fucking Stan's life and their revenge on them, Pinington walking into the sea, Mama being awesome in the general, THE FUCKING EVERYWHERE AND EVERYTHING ALL AT ONCE QUOTE I AM CRYING----
In the most affectionate way possible I am mentally doing this to you, words can't describe how much I adore this piece!!! AND ALSO TAKE YOUR TIME, PLEASE DON'T RUSH!! Once again thank you so much for your support my friend :D I'll to be waiting for you in the same way you had done for me!!
Some time ago, my dearest friend @iluminated-goat shared some of her ficlets of her 2!Stans and 2!Fords au (recently they added another one and it's so cute!!! ❤️). And as usual, they inspired me to draw and write my version of Forrester and Pinington, so here it is!
To clarify things, they're NOT from the same universe. Each of them has their own backstory before coming to this world (and spoiler alert! it ain't pretty). Their back stories can be read right here since it might be too lengthy to write it down here.
In my opinion, this au is the happy ending they deserved after the hells they previously went through.
I still got other aus and fics that I am working on whole at the same time juggling my work life, so as always it might take awhile. I am working on some ideas about Mama and it involves with our peggy Stan! Hope you like it Ilumi!
Fellas I believe I am cooking something (at the pace of a snail, but I am!!!)
A little snippet of a gift I wanted to give both to @mirrorworldangel and @muchmallows, completely inspired by their fic and AU respectively
Still has a long way to go, but I can't wait to show this to you guys ( ꈍᴗꈍ) (also totally posting this because the goats returned I have to support them)
I’d like to thank my friend @mirrorworldangel for inspiring me to finish this piece by their ficlet (go check out their posts NOW, they're awesome). I got inspired by Lady Tanith and Rykard from Elden Ring in this one (i fucking love them dude), and this is possibly the most dubious piece i’ve posted. So please, be careful and attentive of the tags please.
TW: child/sacrificial/arranged marriage, extremely big age gap (considering one of them’s a god and the other is a 12 y.o., so BE WARNED), religious themes, a bit of implied body horror/dehumanization too as a treat
Stanford who practically had his name ripped off the family after he moved and made a deal with an entity. Instead of making a deal with the god (which is essentially Bill or anyone else), man FUSED himself with it, becoming a mockery of nature and a twisted god of knowledge and greed (not in a “riches” way, more like an “i will do everything and anything to get what i want/reach my objectives” kind of greed). From the “blessings” he gave to the people of the town, they started seeing him as a higher being and worshipping him.
The years go by and no one talks about Stanford, his name being forgotten or unknown. After trimillennial years, Stanley is born. Things go the same for him, called stupid or seen as a disappointment (especially now, considering he’s an only child). So, being a kid without a stable support system and without friends, he mostly spends his time outside, going on pretend adventures with his friend/possum Shanklin and ignoring his feelings (this totally won’t have any consequences in the foreseeable future, none at all).
Stanford on the other side of the country felt a literal change on the force. While Stanley’s living his “best life”, man’s obsessing over the newfound feeling - so many years being glued to one place (even by his own will), he felt excited at the prospect of something new after god-knows how many years. He sends out some of his followers to see what was the cause of it, if he should be worried or not about this “change”, which is essentially how he finds out about Stanley.
Stanford’s morals were already… questionable. But after he fused with Bill???? Brother those things got even more twisted or are straight-out thrown out of the window depending on the situation. He’s curious about the brat - even more with the feelings that came. Just by the way his followers described him made him feel complete! As if some puzzle piece was missing all along, he thought it was fulfilled once he achieved godhood, but it was far better than it.
He wanted the boy.
He’s the God of Knowledge, a spiritual being that took physical form among mortals, with a group that would put their necks on the line for him. No mortal force could deny him anything.
When Filbrick and Caryn are visited by the cultists, Filbrick is exhilarated at the thought of one of the Old Gods blessing them with riches, so much he’s almost shoving Stan out the door instantly. Caryn, on the other hand, was inconsolable. The mere image of her baby being sacrificed to a mockery of nature made her want to cry. Stan doesn’t really understand, his mother isn’t looking at him and his father is just telling him not to mess anything up.
On the day of his “bringing”, his mother is helping him with his clothes. She looks thin, face sunken and eyes aimless as she fixes the red veil on his head. He’s wearing things that are more expensive than all the things in his house combined. An intricate golden border weaved on the red material, so big that it fell on his shoulders. A simple white and red gown with patterns embroidered on its short-puffed sleeves, rings and golden bracelets sitting heavy on his skinny arms. He smirks when he sees his reflection on the old vanity, he looks like a noble. He looks rich.
He asks his mom if his friend will like him. Caryn wants to cry.
Stan can’t help but feel giddy at all the attention he’s receiving. These people don’t even know him but they’re praising him, saying how amazing he is, how he’ll soon be loved by all, that his name will be known across the lands to the seas and to the skies. He feels sad his parents stayed behind for the ceremony, but they tell him that they’ll join after it. They eagerly push him towards the temple, leading him to the altar as he watches people cheer, laugh and celebrate his mere existence.
And there, he meets his “friend”.
His smile falls, a shiver runs down his spine. The people guiding him are oblivious to his turmoil, happily pushing him closer to the… creature. It might have a humanoid figure and be completely covered in multiple robes, but he’s not dumb enough to not recognize danger. What gets his attention is the six fingered hand slipping out one of the sleeves, taking his (tiny in comparison to the gigantic limb) hand in his. He was almost surprised at the gentleness of the action. It slips a ring on his fingers, saying something about eternal loyalty, branding him its “Lady”.
The entire church erupts in joyful screams at his hesitant nod.
It’s… actually really boring after the ceremony. They change his clothes to another gown and paint something in his forehead, guiding him to a more fancy building. They practically maneuver him to sit on the plushy chair, excitedly telling him about his position as the Proprietor and Consort. He’s like a psychic!
The first week was awesome, seeing so many people walk the entire guest hallway just to talk with him and receive his visions and sermons made him feel so cool (if he could he would shove it on Crampelter’s face)! He could just say some nonsense and they’d eat it straight from his hands! And then the second week came, and the third, and he was so so bored. The only thing he did was sit there and say random bullshit. And the big guy of the cult didn’t even look for him once, and where are his cool powers???
Tired of the repetitive routine and being ignored, he leaves the manor and goes to the temple. He doesn’t give a shit if he’s interrupting the ninetieth sermon of the day or whatever, he pulls the guy’s robes and demands his attention. Yeah, the giant six handprint on the veil covering its face creeps him out, but the part of him who’s pissed yells louder. He’s smug at the astonished silence that comes from it (until it grabbed him like a kitten and raised him from the ground).
Their only ever real interaction happened some time after that.
“Stanley was certain his friend was an ass.
The thing barely spoke to him - and he’s been there for weeks -, for some reason it’s obsessed with watching him from the shadows of his manor (he stopped giving attention to it once he realized it wouldn’t answer him), and depending on the angle you were looking at it, it seemed to have more limbs than normal moving under its robes. And after his little “interruption”, it seemed to take fun in tormenting him, using his fear of heights to suddenly lift him from the ground and carry him around the town. Seriously, what’s its deal?
So, with the will and the authority of a High Consort (whatever that means) and Proprietor of the Manor, he decided to look for answers!
He decided the best place to look was straight from the source of it all, the Temple. He decided to enter it - more like break in - after the evening, where the last praying hour would happen and it would be closed for the rest of the day. The people didn’t want to anger their “Lord” after this time.
Stan blew a raspberry, almost tripping on the flounce of his gown. Bunch of bull, his honest opinion.
Besides! This was the coolest hour! With no one around, the place looked like one of the scenes from the books with illustrations he stole once! He didn’t even see the Inquisitor wandering around. The guy creeped him out (something something Fiddlesticks? Fliplick? Bleh, something like that), with that iron mask and that scythe, murmuring under his breath on his best days. Yeah, he preferred he kept his loyalty to his so-called Lord or whatever.
One thing he quickly came to realize was how unnecessarily long the hallways were. Not even his manor was that exaggerated. Multiple antique and fading paintings hung on the walls, ripped curtains and dusty shelves, surprisingly well-taken wooden and marble statues - some missing some limbs from the passage of time. He didn’t open a single door, in fear that it would suddenly appear and blow his cover.
His head snapped at the end of the corridor, the sound of sloshing and splashing coming from behind one of the doors. He covered his mouth, muffling his giggles. Jogging towards the door, he realized there was a bit of light coming from the slightly opened crack. Stan’s luck couldn’t have been better!
Slowly propping his hands on the wood, he smirked as pressed his face closer to the crack, excited at what he would discover. Maybe, he could even gossip about it to the others once they check his manor!
He regretted it almost immediately.
An eye stared back at him, but he’s pretty sure that wasn’t its face. Ripped muscles and hands sprouting from the wrong places, bones protruding the skin as if they were healed wrong or didn’t know where to go to make it fit, human legs hanging limply from the animalistic torso, organs he couldn’t even name falling and making a wet sound whenever it hit the skin, limbs pulsing and jerking as if they had lives of their own. He’s pretty sure he saw what looked like wings, randomly placed and varying in size.
Stan wanted to throw up. He needed to leave. Now.
Stan tried to push himself away, to get away and go back to his manor, to leave this town. In his haste, his foot got trapped on the length of his dress. His heart hammered as he fell face first on the floor, body slamming and rolling the door’s bottom stairs.
He moaned in pain, softly rubbing his forehead. That hurt. Who puts stairs behind a door?!
He froze as a shadow fell upon him, covering the entirety of the floor. He didn’t want to turn around. He really didn’t want to turn around. Well, he didn’t even turn, it decided to pluck him right out of the floor, holding him tightly in its hold. His body shook violently, as he was brought face-to-face to it - the worms roaming around its face falling on the floor with a firm “thud”.
Stan wanted to throw up.
It stared at him expectantly, he could see some simmering anger and curiosity in its eye (or what he thought was an eye), its body now hastily covered with its robes. Shit. Shit. What does he do?! What does he say?! Technically, it is his fault for breaking into its temple. And now he messed up by seeing it in its private quarters. Appeal to it? How?? Pray to him? He doesn’t know what to say! Make an excuse? It's the head of the town, it knows everything!
“I- I-” Stan stammered as a hand came closer to him. “I- Umm- I really like- your wings!”
The hand stopped. Stan cheered internally.
“Y-Yeah! Your wings! They’re- they’re pretty cool!” Stan yelled. “I like their colors! Ummmm… blue looks good on you!”
It stared in silence. Until, tentatively, it brought him closer to its robes, a wing spreading out from underneath it. Crooked, some parts missing feathers and exposing raw skin. One thing he didn’t lie about was the colors. They… they actually looked kind of cool.
He was lightly shaken from the hand holding him, the creature now adjusting its hold so he could have his arms free. He looked at his hands, then at the wing who was now on arm's length.
Did- did it want him to pet it?
Hesitantly, Stan ran his fingers through the feathers. It was… soft. Really soft, nice to the touch too. He took care to not prod the exposed skin. He heard some chirps coming from behind him, becoming broader with his petting.
That- actually wasn’t so bad.”
Apparently, that’s all it took for the guy to get his head out of his ass. You know, simple things like actually talking to him, learning his name (the dude’s a behemoth and his name is Stanford), going on dinner dates, casually committing heresy, attempting to drag him out of the temple whenever the preaching goes on for too long.
Stanley skittishly gets closer to the man, giving him (shy) backhanded compliments and giving him some of his sketches. Stanford seems fond of carrying him around in his many hands, letting him nap in his hold whenever he got tired of the manor - which moved to Stan spending most of his time sitting on Stanford’s shoulders. It’s months after when he’s putting more effort in his drawings and sermons, wearing the clothing gifts Stanford made for him; Stan moving into the temple and sharing a bed with the god, one of his hands covering his entire body that he realizes “omg i’m a follower just like these losers”.
I really like how most of my posts start with "hey guys I'm back", for all of my beautiful friends and followers I owe you my life. Have some silly doodles I did over an idea I had a MONTH ago but only finished now
Imagine being gagged by a 8 year old (also inspired by a hc of mine that Ford was a fucking nightmare when he had the chance to as a kid, he only started "behaving" more on the formative years). Btw if you can't read Stan's comments on the last panel: "scratch that, you're walkin' the rest of the way. When did you get heavy???"
Also it baffles me that I'm still obsessed with these two losers they're making me learn anatomy and fucking PERSPECTIVE of all things. What else is my life at this point/j
My most sanest reactions seeing this post AKSLSLMDODODLD ANGEL THIS IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! and I'm so sorry if my age gap brainrot is getting to you I need to expand my horizons asap (ᗒᗩᗕ) but this is so beautiful AAAAA!!
Your creativity never ceases to impress me, a burlesque troupe?? The way it genuinely fits Stan because of his entertainer persona is so cool. Also Filbrick sucking as always, but what can you expect from him (and Caryn getting divorced YES GOD!!) God I've never wanted to be someone so bad, Ford truly is living the dream. And he's definitely stronger than me I would've put a ring on Stan's finger BEFORE I even went to Oregon
And aaaaa i can't help but remember a bit from Jessica and Roger Rabbit at their relationship, Ford may have fallen harder but Stan's just as enamoured I would say! And their babies! They're so cute! "Their twin girls for now" ooh? Do I sense an implication that there's going to be more? Not even judging Ford in this one, I get him completely, use those teenage hormones to your advantage
And your portrait of Reverse Stan, my boy... The attention to the detail of his design, Shanklin's little smirk, Will Cipher in his collar, his fez's symbol, AAAAAA Angel this is absolutely stunning! I could not thank you enough for this gift my friend!! (・ω・)つ⊂(・ω・)
And absolutely take your time making your sketches, stories and to rest too; because they are definitely worth the wait. We can and we will wait for you, it's always a treat to see you my friend. Please receive a doodle to showcase my absolute gratitude and appreciation not only to Reverse's portrait, but for every piece you put an effort to it, take care!! 🩵🩵
My friends @muchmallows and @iluminated-goat play with the idea of aged difference Stancest for awhile, so I have been playing an au of mine a bit while I was taking a break from working on Mama's lore:
In this au, Stan is the elder sibling instead of Ford and lives in Oregon as a manager to some small chains of burlesque and drag queen bars.
He prefers to dress in elegant outfits and subtly spoils his loved ones with wealth and loving care. Think of this Stan as the Dita Von Teese of Gravity Falls.
Stan left home at the age of 17 after graduation to get away from Filbrick as far as possible, but he still secretly keeps in touch with his mom and baby brother, Ford. Somewhere along the way, he stumbled upon a travelling burlesque troupe and it became his lifetime job since.
I like to joke that it was Stan that paid all of his university finances, so he's like this rich sugar mommy that Ford got to bag as his future wife in front of his friends on graduation day. Funnily enough, he's actually more richer than both of Filbrick and Carlyn's finances combined together.
Teen Ford is sent to Oregon by their mother's behest because their parents are dealing with a combination of Filbrick's debts and a potential divorce because of his mistreatment, she knew it would be a messy one. Well, what happens when a really horny possessive teen interacts with their really hot MILF elder sibling in the middle of nowhere?
Their relationship dynamic is a really fun play of Ford being the very besotted fool that would immediately fall to his knees with a blow of a kiss from Stan, but when in bed he'll outlast the latter because of his ravenous vigor.
For now, they have a pair of twin daughters: Lacie Vesper (cheerful star) and Esme Marie (beloved drop of the sea).
Also, enjoy this simple portrait of Reverse!Stan in all of his extravagant glory too:
I got another au that I wanna draw too, but it might take awhile so enjoy this piece of work for now, love you both!
Thank you again for the attention!! Here are the images in a higher quality for those who wish to see or save :))
YAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH GODS!!!!! Stan is so BEAUTIFUL 🥹 step on meeeeee~ all seriousness aside the thought that he WALKED all the way to Oregon out of sheer spite is soooo reverse!stans m.o 🤣 his high pain tolerance definitely assisted him in his long journey.
And I love to thought that he would move the stars and the heavens for his family but when it comes to the people of g.f he wouldn’t even spit on them if they were on fire 😭😭
OH and his relationships with the other Stan’s???!!! I can totally understand why he’d be civil with AU but not super close….im sure he sees him as a privileged lil babe and stitches is so intriguing he can’t help but admire him~
THANK YOU ILUMI ( @iluminated-goat )THIS IS 🤌🏻🤌🏻✨✨✨
Hi Mallows and Ilumi, here are the triplets reference down below!
Clarence
a fireman in Gravity Falls not because he dreamt of it, but because Dipper's accidental stories are too hilarious
he becomes Eliott's go-to guy for body horror accuracy
the most responsible among the three
is the only one of the triplets that is able to tame the arguing siblings with a knock on their heads
has a PhD degree in medicine, very useful in patching up his family members injuries
McClinton
a chemist poison researcher turned florist
still likes cataloguing flowers and plants as a hobby
has a Masters certificate in chemistry
had once interned as a gardener in the Poison Garden of Northumberland, UK
don't put him in cooking duty, he'll either burn it or will send someone to the hospital for food poisoning
can be the most romantic man in anybody's presence, Eliott likes to tease calling him 'Mr All Rizz But no Ring'
doesn't know that he is the actual character muse for most of Elliott's romance references
Eliott
you know those people that were very unhinged as a kid that turned up to be the most normal looking person as the adult, yeah that's Eliott
the Junji Ito of Gravity Falls, well known as a comic book artist for his mythological body horror art and weirdly enough, shoujo comedy magical girl stories
got a mathematics degree at first, but find that life boring and enrolls university again just to pursue arts
had an incident with a Book of Bill, but with the help of Esme Morgen and an alternate Darlan, he is free from Bill's possession
Also to add in context, they all hated the colours yellow and triangles due to personal reasons and experiences in their careers, so here's their context:
For Clarence, the colour and shape reminds him of the many fires he had to put out and the sharp edges of broken glasses and bones that he had to patch up. He also accidentally stepped on a small triangular broken glass as a kid and did not like that experience
To McClinton, he hates those two like how you hate an ex by calling them a bitch from hell. Yellow because it's one of the many common colours to indicate a poisonous plant, that includes pink, purple and white. And he curses whenever he gets hurt, so with prickly triangular thorns, he made Northumberland ring with his swearing once a day.
For Eliott, an arts lecturer failed his individual assignment because 'he didn't feel the soul within the art'. Mind you, he used literal trigonometry calculations to support this project. Turns out the lecturer was wrong, but his grade simply raised to a B-. Yellow is the hardest colour to use in art, so the artist inside him feels irked when the colour highlights it's flaws despite how beautiful it actually is. After his Book of Bill incident, that hatred intensified and he bonds with Ford about that hatred.
GOOD GOOGLY MOOGLY THE RESEARCH????? The depth??? You literally breathe life into these characters Angel!!!! Omg Eliot doing magical girl comics and McClinton bein his inspo for main leads??? COME ONN NOW 🙏🏻🔥🔥🔥 AND CLARENCE BEIN HIS INSPO FOR BODY HORROR??? Ahh I’m in love~ also adore that they hate yellow and triangles totally independent from the reasons their parents do 😂😂😂 please never stop feeding me these absolute delicious lore
