Here's my take. I do NOT like Jalph. I do NOT like them being a couple. I genuinely feel bad for that dynamic. BUT I do like the friendship between Ralph and Jack. Like... You know... I like the idea of ​​them treating each other like brothers. I like the rivalry between them, but also the rare moments where they're willing to cooperate. You know. When Ralph gives Jack a friendly shove on the shoulder and they both giggle. Or when Jack calls Ralph a wimp and Ralph calls Jack a pain in the ass. They tease each other, they're in a constant state of resistance, but there are also moments where their interests collide and they're willing to compromise. I... I genuinely want to see that kind of NON-ROMANTIC intimacy represented.

We are delighted to announce the return of TotP KIDS, our FREE acting workshop for youths ages 10-17. Last fall we had an amazing turnout. The young actors learned all about the ancient Greek Theatre and the classical acting style. At the end they performed a showcase for family and friends, and all were impressed with the fine work they did. This spring we're going to learn all about Shakespeare, melodrama, modern drama, and performance art!

This program exists thanks to an Arts Education Grant from the Wyoming Arts Council, which provided partial funding. As you may know, this grant requires us to raise matching funds in the form of donations and in kind services. Our staff is not compensated for the teaching and training we provide; nevertheless, we are still short of our match.

Other programs charge $250 and upward for participation in productions and workshops. Our goal is to make theatre education and experiences available to all at little to no cost. In this way we hope to nurture the next generation of theatre artists and practitioners in our community. With your help, we can get the rest of the way to our $3000 match.

If you have been blessed with the resources to make a donation during this season of alms giving, please consider contributing to our cause. The funds go directly to the support of our operations outdoor productions, which we offer free to public.

Be sure to see our next production, Medea by Euripides, staged in a unique location within the Izaak Walton Campground. Opens April 25th and runs for three weekends.

I AM AWARE HIS NAME IS PROBABLY PETER BC OF CORAL ISLAND BUT I DONTBLIKE IT IT MAKES ME THINK OF PETER GRIFFIN OKAY

German immigrant of 5 years

Could speak both fluent German and English, with a defined/distinct accent

Moved from Berlin to England with his auntie after the death of his father, and the suicide of his mother

His auntie, having lost a son in WW1, cared for Piggy like he were her own child. She often gave in to spoiling him sweet (big emphasis on the "sweet" part) in fear of treating him like how his own parents would've before their deaths.

Misinterpreted his admiration toward Ralph as a crush, leaving him quietly flustered and upset after being around him (though this quickly went away after Ralph was SUCH an asshole to him at the start for no reason)

Had lots of really good friends and classmates back in Berlin, which he was forced to leave behind when he and his auntie fled the country.

Adored every school subject, was especially a big math nerd

Congested voice due to his ass-mar

Simon

Full name: Simon Cortea

Born mid-1941

Slovak immigrant of 6 years

Romani/Catholic

Had two sisters, one older (19 yrs.) and one younger (4 yrs.)

Late bloomer (voice would've remained high-pitched and his height short for years to come)

His big sister acted as a sort of "second mom", since his real mother was often away working. She'd enjoy her time taking care of Simon, from reading him bedtime stories to cooking him and his sister homemade meals

Had a small circle of friends back in his home country, as well as having to leave them behind and making a few new friends upon settling in England

Apologized excessively out of habit

A few of the hunters went to him to make them vine bracelets, plant crowns, and designs for their body paint in secrecy

Back in England, he would often base his drawings and paintings off of the colors and designs of traditional quilts, clothing, and decorations around his house

Roger

Full name: Roger Marian

Born mid-1940

Born in England w/ partly Romanian heritage

Romani/Catholic

Born into wealth, though his family isn't as wealthy compared to Jack's

Only one sibling, a 16 year old older brother

As well as a handful of cousins that would visit his house (and piss him off) during the holidays

Became best or close friends with Jack post-island

Also occasionally found himself with a soft spot for Simon while on the island..(not to be confused with a crush)

Full name: Maurice Barclay

Born in England w/ partly Irish heritage

Comes from a poorer family compared to the rest of the boys, with lots of siblings and other relatives that live both in England and Ireland.

Has 4 siblings - two older brothers (both in their early 20's), one younger brother (10 yrs.), and a favorite younger baby sister.

Whenever he was cruel or mean to the littluns, he quickly felt bad afterward in remembrance of his little siblings.

Crooked teeth (tooth gap, open bite, and missing teeth give him a speech impediment)

Does get braces later on ^

Big fan of animals, especially dogs and horses

I was talking to my mom the other day, and she said she was going to start going to the gym, because its important care for your body. I’m disabled w/ multiple chronic illnesses, so going to the gym is impossible for me. She seemed to realize this, and started to backtrack, saying like - its part of taking care of herself, and I interrupted and said, “Its okay mom. You and I taking care of ourselves look very different”. And thats what I would like you to know.

Taking care of yourself looks different. 

For some people, taking care of themselves looks like fruit smoothies and gym visits, cutting out sugar and weight training.

For some people, taking care of themselves looks like hospital visits, feeding tubes and ports. Needles and tests.

For some people, taking care of themselves looks like taking medication and lying down in a cool dark room.

For some people, taking care of themselves looks like getting any calories in their body that they can.

For some people, taking care of themselves looks like adding in more vegetables and trying to go outside to get sun more often.

For some people, taking care of themselves looks like seeing a therapist, keeping symptom journals, and practicing mindfulness, meds, or grounding techniques. 

We all have different needs. Please don’t feel bad about how you care for yourself just because someone else is able to do “more”, or their care is more performative or obvious. Please don’t look down on someone for caring for themselves in a way that you do not. Medication and rest are just as important as exercise and vegetables.

Keep doing your best to care for yourself, the best way you know how. Your self care and health is important, no matter what it looks like.
