Labor and wage laws are in effect taxes.
Importing products from overseas instead of locally is in effect Tax evasion.
Tariffs, if used correctly, puts that tax back on them.
This is the argument many Trump supporter make, and it is mostly correct.
But Trump isn’t doing that. The Tariffs he is talking about are all punitive. Almost all punitive taxes do lots of damage, and little good, no matter the type of tax.

When people think of a big colony on mars. Sterile environments like seen in TV series such as space 1999 and many others come to mind. It is unlikely to be that way. People there are going to be critically short nearly every fiber, oil, and other chemical bio mass produced. to even make a noticeable dent in that shortage plant are going to be in every cranny you can put them. Adding another free one to my Substack. The Legion, a left over relic of a time when man fought wars thousand of years in the past is called on to explore the totally impossible fourth universe, a place with a planet of infinite radius and surface. The catch is while the laws of Physics are close enough you can live there, modern technology just wont work.
