“When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.”
— Alexander den Heijer
not everything has to be productive. you are allowed to be a little silly and goofy. you are allowed to rest. take some time for yourself today. there is so much more to life than work, and you deserve to experience it. feel the sun on your face, stretch your body, call a friend, have a little fun. your work will not suffer for it & will be there when you’ve had some time.
I'm so fucking sick of sysmeds fucking ignoring OSDD-1. Sure they'll include us in their bullshit premise that DID/OSDD is only caused by trauma, and is the only way to be a system. But the second they start talking in anything but simple sound bites we don't fucking exist. Every fucking misguided argument and scrap of evidence they cite is about DID and only DID.
And like, there's so many mistakes they make. They act like the DSM isn't the most funded and peer reviewed document in psychology (and that it needs to be read between the lines). They ignore that there are systems out there that don't have DID/OSDD. They ignore that cause of a system and cause of a disorder aren't necessarily the same.
So it's no surprise that they also ignore the fact that none of what they ever say is about OSDD systems. We're always an afterthought or part of some asinine abbreviation that's probably only mentioned because of autocorrect/ autocomplete.
this post hasn't left my mind since i've first saw it
protective sigil against police officers
Hey, I don't know if you remember me (I'm the one with suicidality), but I just wanted to let you know that it's not worth it. I've lived through it with you, and I just want to tell you one thing: living is worth it.
Please.

I think it’d be good if people were more aware that another way true crime can be used for copaganda is that “empathy for victims” can absolutely be exploited to institute increasingly authoritarian police measures.
Like when your crime bill is named “[Murder Victim]’s Law” instead of “Removal of Restriction on Police’s Ability to Collect DNA Without A Warrant” or “Life Sentences For Drug Possession” suddenly any criticism is gonna come off as a posthumous attack on the murder victim and their “legacy” rather than the actual components of the law and how they will effect real people.
