this is surprisingly accurate
friendly reminder to make sure humpback whales don’t go extinct to save 23rd century earth
i never thought of this before but yes?? that’s literally them??
I can’t explain it but they’re like Scooby and shaggy to me
she’s a, she’s a lady and i am just a boy…
this is now canon for me. i have decided.
Not to Voyage Home post… but I do think that Spock’s refusal to call Kirk “Jim” throughout the film—when we had seen him remember that name already, in tsfs—is down to his wariness surrounding their intimacy
He doesn’t know who he himself is, or how to parse his own current emotions, so how can he possibly contextualize twenty years worth of feelings for Jim?
He remembers falling in love with him, the slow yearning of their five year mission spent in that strange place between best friends and lovers; he remembers the decision to go to Gol, to excise those feelings, and the failure there that drove him back into Jim’s waiting arms; he remembers the decade since then spent wrapped up in each other, a life full of warm affection and love. Love. He remembers being in love. T’hy’la, ashayam, I shall always be yours kind of love.
But that can’t be right, can it? Can it? Can he take that risk again? Does he even still want to? What does he want? What is wanting? And how is he supposed to figure it out when every time Jim smiles at him, he recalls another memory of the two of them together?
What right does he have to claim this man? He barely knows him, compared to the self from his memories who considered Jim his other half.
It doesn’t feel right to call him “Jim”, not when he’s not sure how he feels. It feels too much like giving both of them false hope.
it’s quite literally spock.
i can’t watch a single episode with him getting romantically involved with a woman without feeling pure confusion.
characters who arent canonically gay but whose behavior just makes no sense unless you read them as gay
wdym i thought that’s how flirting normally is?
gay people never flirt normally it's always gotta be shit like this
this fills me with such joy
What I think TOS crew Instagram accounts would look like:
Bones:
Less then 1K followers. Private account. A lot of selfies or him being in a company, a lot of selfies with Kirk, bad pictures of Spock, random pictures of medical equipment. Sometimes snaps of landscapes. Active on stories.
Argues in the comments on scientific and moral topics (he’s usually right).
Has 2 secret accounts: Dolly Parton fan account, with a huge amount of followers. Other one is reviews of drinks, bars and clubs of different planets, also big amount of followers.
Spock:
A lot of followers (think 11K). Posts rarely, so account doesn’t really grow. Very beautiful photos of the landscapes and portraits of crewmen. A lot of candid pictures of Kirk. Sometimes posts some harp music. Doesn’t post his face for privacy.
Kirk:
Big influencer amount of followers (think of hundreds of thousands or even a million since different panted have insta as well). Cares about feed’s aesthetic, which features a lot of space, stars and shiny disco balls. Posts videos where he tells of his adventures while doing “get ready with me” (usually makeup), regular outfit checks. Pictures Spock made of him, information of interviews, articles, him with famous interplanetary politicians and celebreties, etc.
The only photos of people without him in the picture as well are with Spock (with some cheesy captions), and of Bones, with funny captions. Always pins Bones’ comments. Reposts Spock’s pictures in stories. Doesn’t know why Dolly Parton fan account follows him. Follows Bones’ review account without knowing it is Bones, recommends Bones’ recommendations to everyone, even to Bones. Tries to convince Spock to make a beauty account.
Scotty
Scotty does have an account, but does not post anything on it. Still managed to have 325 followers.
Chekov
Two accounts. Meme account and modeling. Meme account is pretty big, and it’s Russian memes. Modeling account is smaller then meme account but still big. Collaborates with big intergalactic brands. Doesn’t tell people about model account, meme account is Chekov’s proudest achievement.
Sulu
Cosplay. Botanics. Shitposts. Cosplay again. Comic cons (with Chekov). Flowers. Cosplay. Not a big amount of followers but not a small one.
Uhura
Amount of followers is slightly higher then Kirk’s. Makeup, outfits, singing, African culture. Spock leaves a lot of nice comments there. Uhura from time to time features Spock there to promote a makeup or to do makeup to each other. McCoy also gets featured especially “doing makeup to my friend” kind of videos, and is pretty popular among her fans, but he doesn’t accept follow requests. Feed aesthetic often changes, but always features bright colors and certain themes and color schemes.
reading wikipedia pages is fun.
death by vending machine, the gay and lesbian kingdom of the coral sea islands, kirk/spock…
i recommend it
