Controversial opinion: I really love religious marauders headcannons not just for the representation but because it was England in the 70s, most people were religious. So here are my favourites:

Remus: I’m conflicted because although he is quite cynical and so might be modernly interpreted as an atheist I think he’s either catholic or Jewish. Catholic as someone who is not sure if they fully believe in it but went along because his mum was really religious and therefore finds it comforting as it reminds him of her. Especially after she dies. Alternatively Jewish Remus; I really love seeing this in AU fics(when it’s done well because let’s be honest some people are lazy with it) especially when it adds a layer of connection with his friendship with Lily as it gives a deeper mutual understanding of their world experiences

Sirius: In wizarding fics definitely agnostic. His parents were strict atheists as religions is for muggles but as he gets closer with the marauders he starts questioning. In AUs I love religious trauma Sirius because the amount of kinnies with it need it- I’m split between religions because traditionally Christian would make the most sense storywise but I love POC Sirius so obviously when he is Asian or mixed this would vary for example Muslim or Buddhist Sirius

James: This man is clearly desi and anyone who says otherwise is lying. Most commonly I see him as Hindu but also occasionally Muslim both of which are amazing and usually written better than the others. We love! Though I have seen Sikh James and I think this would also work very well. Just imagine Fleamont in turban.

Lily: I love Jewish Lily. It adds so many layers to her character in the sense her muggleborn identity. And I have seen many Jewish Lily kinnies so I imagine they can relate. As I mentioned her friendship with Remus. The fics with this are kinda hit or miss so please do research for these to be as good as possible because the people want more

Peter: I’m not going to leave Peter out. I personally think he is Church of England. He’s really close with his mum so when he was little he had much more involvement with the church. He obviously didn’t really go during school because he didn’t have access. He really struggled with his asexuality so this was complicated. In AUs he goes for Christmas and Easter but not that often. In the magical world he distances himself from religion as the death eaters look down on it as a muggle idea

I didn’t realise I had this many thoughts on it. Feel free to share your own headcannons, I’d love to see what other people think

Things my girlfriend does that I headcannon onto Sirius Black because she’s a Sirius Kinnie and just doesn’t know it:

• holding Remus’ hand while he studies but insisting ‘no this isn’t attachment issues’

• having the most love/hate relationship with their hair- won’t cut it because of emotional attachment but hates how it gets in the way

• having an obsession with smell- ‘did you know you smell like strawberries and tea moony’

• constantly running his hand through Remus’ hair- it’s just comforting

• absolute king of ‘that’s what she said’ jokes

• won’t leave the dorm room without eyeliner

• drama queen!!!(socially and the subject)

• short AF but will always be the one to start a fight

• nose scrunches...I will not elaborate

• playlist icon(one for every mood you can think of)

• embarrassing poetry phase- ‘we don’t talk about it’

• oddly good at debating( and thrives off it)

• will do puzzles when they can’t sleep(which is more often than not)

• musically talented(classically trained)

• love language receiving is physical touch and giving is gift giving

*Sirius had to be left handed so him and Remus could hold hands in class and while studying. Also he just gives lefty energy*

Stranger: Sirius has been a bit of a player in the past aren’t you worried he might cheat on you?

Remus: ummmm *looks behind him to see a drunk Sirius*

Sirius: You have no idea, I have a boyfriend. He is sooo hot. I love him very much. He’s over there being all beautiful.

Remus: I think I’m good

Controversial opinion: I’ve never been a massive fan of Hermione as a character, but I’ve been able to properly explain it. And I saw a video on tiktok saying that she is basically Joanne’s self insert and nothing has made sense more. The fanon version that I do see seems to be just so different to the canon, not to say both don’t have serious flaws. But I’ve never gotten how some people got from one to the other
