What I mean when I do not control the hyperfixation.
Commander Shepard - Mass Effect song (via miracleofsound)
It took all I had to not name the 'summary' tab 'black arts', because to most people it may as well be witchcraft.
That should change, hopefully.
honestly it could go either way
(might be posting that fic soon btw đź‘€)
Right, considering the current state of corporate politics on this site, and that it seems that only those affected seem to be actively speaking on the matter, it is up to I, the only fucking cishet on tumblr, to drag this out to a wider audience.
We need to show these higher ups how much we truly value them.
One year I mentioned I needed a new hobby knife - you know, the cheap little scalpel things you use to get your space marines off the sprue. Over the next three years my gran got me increasingly elaborate sets. At one point I counted and found I had 104 blades, plus a half dozen handles they could fit on.
I'm personally convinced that Lift is going to convert everyone to the Church Of A Big Dinner.
Now thinking about the plot of sa6 (presumably, they get stormlight back as the main *big win* moment- this is the Stormlight Archives after all)
ANYWAY thinking about that and the implications of Kaladin Stormblessed disappearing when stormlight does and returning when it does. Like Herald of Second Chances and "here's your second chance with stormlight. Here's your second chance at being Radiant". Or something.
Insurance on low-probability-large-payout events can be very odd, but often makes sense purely at scale. Not surprised there are specialists, dabblers would be taking massive risks - ironically, insurance companies aren't supposed to take risks. You really want to roll so many dice you can guarantee a certain number of natural-1s. Otherwise you can't plan, you can't hedge, you're just letting someone else gamble with all of your client's fees.
As far as I can tell there's never been a wacky caper movie about committing hole in one insurance fraud, and that honestly surprises me a little.
As promised here the additions for the first part of Sandra Branderson's Way of Kings (Part 1 ... yes, why only make one if you can split them, does the full hardcover copy of Brandon Sanderson's Way of Kings fit into this jacket, yes... it only shows how PROLIFIC Sandra is. All that slow burn takes up space.)Â As with the other covers, the amazing text (and that first ID) is written and put into layout by the wonderful @priscellie
💙💜 on the back of the cover đź’śđź’™Â
“I’d decided I couldn’t do it, but you convinced me that truth was not as simple as I thought it. You’ve opened a box full of storms in me. I made a mistake. I’ll make more. I need you.” Jasnah took a deep breath. “Sit down.” Shallan sat.
In the cavernous halls of the Kharbranth Palaneum, where ancient secrets lie hidden among the dusty tomes, young and fiery Shallan Davar seeks more than just knowledge. Drawn by desperation to protect her crumbling house, Shallan sets her sights on the enigmatic Jasnah Kholin, sister to the king, renowned for her scholarship and infamous for her heresy and icy demeanor.
Amid sharp debates and lessons in philosophy, sparks fly in the most unexpected of ways. As the two women navigate the shadows of trust and betrayal, secrets of both heart and history are uncovered.
(Also, a bunch of sweaty, desperate, shirtless men learn how to use their spears, if you know what I mean.).
