Accel World Is So Hard To Explain

accel world is so hard to explain

like it just sounds incredibly contrived out of context

which sucks because it's genuinely fascinating once you get into it

The whole Weakness Of The Flesh Immortality Of The Machine conversation is fun... I really appreciate the point that in the modern real world technology is controlled by an ever-rotating pile of tech companies whose business model is predicated on obsoleting everything older than like 4 years. If you, the person reading this, managed to upload your consciousness to a file, it would struggle to interact and be read in, like, 10 years max. And if you rely on medical aids that are connected to computers and the internet, you are already facing that problem.

All that said, I cannot stress enough that obsolescence is not an issue for the in-universe source of the whole "from the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh" quote

Can you please reblog if your blog is a safe place for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, asexual, aromantic, pansexual, non binary, demisexual or any other kind of queer or questioning people? Because mine is.

One day I'll actually play these, rather than just listen to the OST on repeat!

When I was a kid, me and my friends would have all these "random" conversations, riffing off each other's bullshit about all sorts of dumb shit. I thought I was holding my own, but always a little in awe of my friend's inventiveness. Years later, I saw The Holy Grail for the first time, and realised I was the only one who thought that we were in a riff session.

I'm pretty sure that any two sufficiently good-looking gen Z kids could make it on TikTok by making videos that are 100% word-for-word re-enactments of Monty Python skits, and the whole audience who has never heard of the flying circus in their lives would lose it over such fresh and original material.

"Reply All" is an excellent name for a battleship.

the head of the catgirl space empire’s war fleet is wordlessly chainsmoking as she finally reads over the list of ship names she sorta ignored when she signed off on the approval. like, for instance, the catgirl space empire eschaton-class superheavy warship Slutty Dads Ahoy. Then there’s Catgirl Space Empress RPF. Lox Bagel, Please. Kill Yourself. Ship Namer’s Local 2323 is On Strike. she’s gonna start drinking before she finishes the list

Art forgery is the best crime tbh. It requires absolutely incredible artistic talent, technical skill, and attention to detail to make convincing fakes. Does anyone get hurt from it? No! The only people who suffer for it are the extremely wealthy who want the prestige of having original paintings in their own homes. It’s full of international intrigue and mystery. Perfect.

narnia has actually way too many completely devastating concepts in it that are not explored At All
