Hello, friends!

I'm sorry to tell you that I'm having a burnout. It's a bit more than one month till the end of the semester and I have A LOT of stuff to finish now. It's been like that for a while and I'm just tired, mostly mentally. I have a few ideas left from before the burnout, but I kinda don't have the energy to want to draw them (does that make sense?? idk).

What I'm saying is, I'm taking a timeout. YES, AGAIN. I will draw, because I literally can't live without creative activities. I NEED to draw or else i will explode. But I don't want to add the pressure of posting stuff online to the pile. I'm sorry. I hope to be back with you by the end of June.

They're blind and rely on other senses

Tiny critters designs for my au!!

They're mostly similar to my Catnap design, but smaller (toddler sized)

- their eye sockets are empty and covered with skin

- instead of a zipper, there's a huge surgical scar on their bellies

- on the cheeks are scars from braces that keep the critters' faces smiling

- some children have gone so feral that they are more comfortable walking on all fours

- also usually critters wear collars with their respective pendants that are very difficult to take off, but these particular critters are from Safe Haven, so they don't have collars :)

I played around with shapes and proportions a little to give everyone a bit more personality. Also I have little to no drawings left to post. I guess I have a burnout or sth, cuz too much shit has happend these past two weeks. I'm just so tired of everything and want to rest. I know uni will be over soon and all, but I'm afraid of how much time it will take for me to recover afterwards...

Btw my groupies weren't very passionate about my presentation, they didn't even listen. It's normal that they don't care, but still. I've made so many illustrations, all by myself. They could've at least said a few kind words :')

as a heavily aroace/sort of repulsed guy who happens to be really into biology and weird sorta relationships, having people interpret your VERY nonsexual specbio/hcs/characters/storylines as something sexualised is always so goddamn uncomfortable

Their tortured personality will cause them anguish anyway, making an absolutely mundane scene into the most dramatic, agony filled affair as though the world is ending and it's all their fault

A spoon's only objective in life is to make soup go upwards, and it knows this. That's why when you put one under a running tap it blasts the water way high. The spoon thinks there's suddenly TONS of soup to deal with and it freaks out.

What if Doey's stalker form is his "real" form and most of the time he's actually making an effort to stay in his friendly Doughman shape?

...Kinda wish I'd thought of this before writing Second Chances but I could possibly retcon stuff or just use the idea in a different story.

But the idea of him reverting to that form while sleeping or when he actually feels fully at ease/relaxed (as compared to always being on guard and putting on a brave face in Safe Haven) is...intriguing.

(It would also kinda explain the size difference, it seems to me that compacting himself to a smaller size would be easier than making himself huge. But that's getting into "the science magic works the way I say the science magic works" territory.)

I made a ref for Susan to have her as a solid character instead of a foggy human-shaped figure in my head while I daydream, u kno how it be...

So yea, welcome the depressed, but devoted mother of three dough boys. She's ready to kick some playtime co ass with her magic wand of justice ^_^

Notes on the design:

- her outfit style is inspired by the last of us fashion

- I really love all the short-haired Susan's other people draw, but in my AU, with all the running and lurking in a dangerous factory, shorter hair would only get in her face and become another distraction. Susan doesn't want that. Nor does she care to cut her hair anymore. Depression is tough

P.S. My main inspiration is still the fic "Love him till the day that you die" by the amazing @was-that-a-pun , and also the fic "To bring him home" (by @titantimberwolf ). Oh and um, all the other AUs where Susan survives and Doey gets to have a parent. Because hooo boy does he need one!

My current favorite thing ever is "Susan Ayers is alive" AUs. Anything from illustrations to full on AUs and fanfics. I love "they escaped early and she gives Doey the normalest childhood she can" and also "it took MANY years for her to reach him but she never stopped searching". All because she loves her boy with her whole heart, all three of them. No matter what shape he takes.
