We Have GOT To Kill Tiktok/twitter Self-censorship I Just Witnessed A Grown Adult Say The Word “smex”

I genuinely hate how Hawks in this latest chapter has now completely hijacked all discussion this fandom. Why aren’t more ppl focusing on the fact that Hori once again chose to shaft Rei and avoided showing us any meaningful interactions between her and her children? If you had any doubts that Hori is a misogynist and is not interested in writing about abuse respectfully, this chapter should dispel them. I cannot believe Hori chose to write this, over what should have been a beautiful moment of a mother comforting her youngest son and other children. We should have finally gotten a chapter focusing on Rei.

Instead, what we got was a chapter focusing Hawks and HIS relationship with Endeavor. How Endeavor was important to HIM. How Endeavor inspired HIM. How much Endeavor the hero meant to HIM as a child. How he wants to help Endeavor now, like Endeavor did for him.

This is intentional. The framing of this chapter is designed to put us in Endeavor’s corner, so now we don’t want to see the downfall of Endeavor’s hero career because “Oh, look how he inspired kids like Hawks!”

Forget about showing us how Endeavor’s VICTIMS are now processing their feelings about Touya being alive and a villain. Don’t force the readers to remember that Endeavor abused his family, all while he continued to present himself as a ‘hero.’ Don’t remind readers about how Endeavor’s abuse has negatively impacted all of THEIR lives.

This chapter is designed to make us sympathize with Hawks and Endeavor as much as possible. So don’t question it when we are never shown Rei interacting with her children. The victims of abuse aren’t as important as prioritizing the feelings of an abuser after all. This has been continuously shown in both the manga and the fandom.

How can ppl be bothered to care about Rei, when Horikoshi doesn’t even care about her himself?

I think Peter Pan (2003) did the best version of George Darling, especially with regards to the dual-casting tradition.

Not only did it let Jason show off his acting range but the explorations of masculinity were really fascinating to watch. George Darling is a nervous wreck who is constantly trying to prove himself as a 'proper' gentleman. "I must become a man that children fear and adults respect!" While he certainly scared the hell out of Wendy then, she still responded "Father? Brave?" to her mother's claims.

So, when Wendy goes to Neverland, she meets a man who is, as Jason Isaacs said, "strangely alluring yet repulsive at the same time, and looks like her dad". Captain Hook is the nightmare version of Wendy father. He's confident, he's aggressive, and he is a cruel, selfish asshole. But the sad thing is, he'd probably be more respected in Edwardian society than George.

Going back to George, when he finds out his kids are missing he literally sprints home out of pure fear and desperation to bring them back. He ran! That is a HUGE 'proper gentleman' no-no! Then when the kids do come home, he practically knocks himself out sprinting into the nursery and smashing his body against the door frame! He tries to put on the gentlemanly persona. Stiff upper lip, manly-man handshake, keep your emotions buried deep inside... but he can't do that. But that's a good thing! He breaks down, embraces his children, and their family is whole again. Rejecting Edwardian social norms was the right thing to do.

So, what I love about this version of George Darling and Captain Hook is how effectively they portray the best and worst forms of masculinity.

I feel bad for Touya

Just look at this. It's cruel.

He's hooked up to more life support than All for One after having his entire skull caved in and brain turned to paste.

They practically put him on display here.

He's got that hole in the base of his throat like what people who've smoking for 50 years. Why does thst medical equipment look like he's got knives stabbed into his shoulders?

Touya can't move, can only speak for a few minutes a day(which I assume is related to him only being concious for a few minutes a day), he's got no limbs, if he has any amount of physical sensation left he is in pain, and look at what is on his head

Those are going into his skull in multiple places. What is even the point of forcing him to endure this?

Look at his throat. Look at how little mass is left between his esophagus and spine. The rest of it is artificial, probably just to force him to keep breathing. Almost his entire lower jaw is fake too.

Why doesn't he have nose holes?

On a related note! How can he talk? He ain't got no lips left.

On an unrelated note! Why are his teeth the only part of him left completely in tact?

Overall: Forcing a corpse to keep breathing and putting it in a glass display case is dehumanizing and a worse punishment than anything else that has happened in this entire series, and it's being treated as a good thing because "Closure" or whatever.

And, like, he's still dying. He's not healing from this. They are literally just prolonging his suffering. They are forcing him to suffer so Enji can come and try to relieve his own guilt? So Shoto can have a sibling relationship with the charrred husk that used to be a human as it slowly wastes away? Maybe he should try building rekationships with his nonmurderous siblings with intact bodies and minds that aren't mummies suspended in a living hell. Spend some time with his mom, maybe?

Folks, friends, y’all…. esk*mo is a slur. I understand a lot of people don’t know that, I don’t want to be a dick about it, but I’ve been seeing it in fics. Wanna write “esk*mo kisses”? Just say “nuzzled noses” or something.

Ngl this hurt me

I know we're ignoring canon right now, but can. Can we just talk about Dabi's ending for a second? Because like. What the fuck? This guy's been suffering his entire life. From being abused by his father, to being kidnapped and experimented on while he's in a coma, just to escape and go home to find out his worst fears have come true, his family abandoned him, they never really cared. Then, he spends the next 8 years homeless, where he damages his body so much to the point he's being held together by staples? How painful was his daily life?? No wonder he wanted to die. His life was hell. And now, he spends his last days alive trapped in a fucking fish tank, in excruciating agony (you cannot tell me he isn't in any pain. He has no fucking skin left, along with his other injuries. Not to mention the emotional and psychological trauma once again inflicted on him). He doesn't get to choose whether or not he wants to keep living through this nightmare. He doesn't get to choose whether or not he wants Endeavor to visit him every day. No one asks him his opinion on any of this. They decide for him, and he doesn't have the strength left to protest. He can't move, can't talk, can't do anything. All he can do is sit there, watching on helplessly, with the knowledge that after his death, his family will once again leave him behind and forget all about him. He'll never see the League again, the only people in the world who actually loved him unconditionally and never saw him as a problem or a mistake. He has to die with the knowledge that he failed. His family won't ever truly see him as a person, and he never, not once in his life, got to be happy.
