James finally deciding to confess his feelings to Reg, planning it out in his head and bigging himself up beforehand. He even has a date idea planned on the off chance that his feelings are reciprocated. He goes to bound up to him outside the changing rooms after a quidditch match with a huge grin but stops in his tracks when he hears Reg talking about James to his friends and just completely insulting him, somehow managing to hit every insecurity James has without even knowing he was listening. James' mood is instantly crushed and he just walks off miserably to sit with his friends and pretend nothing happened completely missing the part where Reg's friends tease him about having a crush on James.
