In the distance he could hear them go off – one after the other; like muffled pistol shots that illuminated the pitch-black sky just for an instant before vanishing into thin air. Irina had loved to look at them. Always eyes wide open, like a child she had clapped, could hardly await the next rockets to explode. Oh, how he had loved to see that innocent expression spreading on her face. Actually he wasn’t the type to join the crowd. The noise, the shoving, the pushing. But as soon as he had laid his eyes on her childlike display of joy he couldn’t help grinning himself. It was then that nothing else mattered. Neither the pain from some elbows crashing into his side nor the high-pitched voices of those around them. Even J.D.’s hopelessly stupid comments tickled out one or two smiles from the Slav. Yes, a happy new year; that it used to be indeed. It had always been a joyous occasion, but now, watching the fireworks from his bedroom window, tied to a wheelchair, it was hard to hold off the feelings of loneliness, those pangs going through his chest like little daggers penetrating the skin. While the whole world was overflowing with expectations for the New Year, everyone keeping their loved ones close, he was there, waiting for something, anything to happen that would break the unbearable silence in the darkness of the room. “Ugh…” The vodka burned. Like a fire that had been lit in his throat, setting ablaze his whole body. Don’t think. Don’t feel. Don’t let it show. He tried hard to strangle those emotions inside, to put out those tongues of flames reaching for a lonely heart.

I finally got the Damnation movie pamphlet.😭😭😭😭 I would like to briefly post only the information about Buddy.

Damnation is a film that calls into question what Leon has believed in and incorporates an element of judgment. Buddy is portrayed as Leon's mirror and contrast (which is why they are the same age).

The reason for setting the two characters to be the same age is that "I wanted to include an element of questioning and judgment about what Leon believes and does. So Buddy was born as a mirror of Leon" (!!) (For more details, see the image)

He is a man of conviction who opposes Leon's convictions head-on. Is Buddy's very existence a judgement on Leon's past beliefs and actions? Judgment. That's why it was the church that they faced.

So Buddy is the opposite of Leon in almost every way. He's an elementary school teacher, chaste and loves only one woman, rebels against his country, lives for revenge, and uses the BOW on himself.

This element of judgment might have been stronger in the official novel, where Buddy is less a mirror to judge Leon and more a sign that Leon is already questioning his own beliefs.

It said that Damnation's Leon was designed to bring back Leon's character from the original RE4. In that sense, Leon from Damnation can be said to be the official successor to Leon from the original 4.

Since Buddy is like a mirror of Leon (official setting), these lines are what Leon was telling self. At least, did Leon in "Damnation" find the "answer" to his own way of life through Buddy's existence? I hope so. Here is the answer to Leon's "judgment".

Buddy was created as a mirror and a questioner of Leon's way of life, then it makes sense that Leon would be strong attached to Buddy😍❤️❤️❤️

It's nice to see such a moving meaning in something you love. I'm glad I kept looking! Although the information is old, I was happy to see that the passion and intent of the time was clearly conveyed.

No matter what the official sources say, my love for Kennechenko and Buddy will not change, but after reading it, I strongly felt that I was glad that I liked it.

Kennechenko is in a really really hot and romantic relationship.

Dispel the Darkness

Buddy rubbed his numbing hands and cursed under his breath as he watched the first white flakes gliding down from above.

(He’s not coming.)

The thought hurt more than he would have liked to admit. He had been waiting for almost an hour now, watching the people passing by, smiling, a joyful atmosphere all around him. But Sasha wasn’t smiling. He had wanted to abandon the idea, to turn around and go home, spending the evening in the quiet confines of his apartment. But every time he had made up his mind, hope had reeled its head again, persuading him to wait for just five minutes longer. Fool that he was, he had given in all the time, always finding another excuse why the one he was waiting for hadn’t shown up yet.

But the truth dawned on him, slowly but steadily.

[ Warning: Spoilers for Resident Evil 6 (mainly the Leon and Helena campaign) !!! ]

It just wasn’t Buddy’s day. Despite the weather forecast having promised sunshine and blue skies, it had been raining since the morning. That alone wouldn’t have been reason enough for the Slav’s foul mood, but since he had foolishly trusted the announcement he hadn’t brought an umbrella or raincoat with him. And it was a steady downpour. He had gotten soaked to his skin instantly. In fact he felt his clothes cling to him in most parts and his shoes had turned out to be not waterproof as well. He could still remember times long past when his shoes would have made squishing sounds while walking, although he couldn’t verify that, small relieve it brought him, being tied to this wheelchair. He practically felt like he was sitting in a puddle of rainwater. And from the looks of it, that was exactly how it was.

I think we don't talk enough about Sasha a.k.a. Buddy, or RE: Damnation in general.

I'll make it short: If it weren't for Sasha (Buddy), Leon would have certainly died on the mission in the ESR.

It was *Sasha* who commanded the Lickers to prevent the Tyrant from delivering the final blow against Leon.

Which also makes it the first time happening; A battle between (full mutated) B.O.Ws in history of Resident Evil (Lickers vs. Tyrant).

Despite of disliking him, Sasha helped Leon to escape. And the other one did the same in return.

That's one of the reasons I love this movie so much: Enemies become allies. Without the other, there's no chance of survival.

And d*mn, Sasha is such an incredibly strong individual. Maybe I'll talk about it next time~🔥💥☀️😌

 I wish there was a continuation of RE: Damnation with more Alexander Kozachenko, not the angry/bitter Alex but with the man who is emotionally vulnerable and learning to cope with his disability and his traumatic past. 

I mean this guy is an interesting character, I want to see more of him. and i want to see him happy

His hips stutter into Leon’s touch, rough and dry as it is, it is still everything and more Sasha has wanted. His fingers hook beneath Leon’s thighs, nails digging into his pantlegs as he pulls him that much closer. The friction of Leon’s fingers around him has him gasp, but it’s not enough to fully rob him of his need to undress Leon further too. “Almost…” He breathes and then leans in to kiss Leon again in lieu of a proper answer. His own hands still move to undo Leon’s pants and shove them out of the way, swallowing thickly when he glimpses the wet spot in Leon’s underwear soon after, finding him just as desperate as himself.

Sasha’s breath shudders out of him in an unsteady exhale when Leon gives him a measured, slow stroke in the meantime and it takes every single bit of his already frayed self-control to not simply begin to fuck into the circle of his hand. But at the same time it doesn’t take much to get him back on track, as even pushing his hips forward just ever so slightly reminds him of the straining hardness in Leon’s pants and Sasha then shifts his fingers below the waistband of Leon’s underwear and tugs them down. They’re still not fully undressed, but it’s close enough to be able to feel eachother skin on skin.

One hand finds it’s way around the back of Leon’s neck then, tilting his head up for another deep and desperate kiss. The other moves to briefly lessen Leon’s hold around Sasha’s length, only to then take Leon’s hand and lead it to encircle them both together, guiding his hand with his own. He tightens his own hold around Leon’s hand just enough that the next bit of friction makes him see stars behind closed lids as their erections press together hot and heavy. And he’d worry that it is just this side of too tight, or dry for his lover to enjoy, if it wasn’t for the fact that this time it’s Leon who is forced to break the kiss for an appreciative moan.

Sasha blinks his eyes back open just after the first wave of heightened pleasure ebbs and is met by the dark want of Leon’s pupils near fully eclipsing the brilliant blue of his eyes. It’s been so long since he’s last seen this sort of expression on Leon’s face, and even so it is still the first time it’s not entirely overshadowed by the grief or confusion of their past.

The hand on the back of Leon’s neck moves to cup his cheek. His thumb brushes along his cheekbone as he tips his head back to better look into his eyes, his own full of wonder as he takes him in. “You’re so beautiful.” Sasha whispers before he guides them back into another, slower kiss while he begins to lead their joined hands into a slow rhythm that is maybe a bit slow for their already roughened breathing and desperate noises, but it is also everything he wants to do: take his time, truly and feel this, feel Leon, with every fibre of his being.
