I don’t WANT a career. I want to cuddle and sleep and eat and read and create and love and be loved.
There is a kind of sadness that comes from knowing too much, from seeing the world as it truly is. It is the sadness of understanding that life is not a grand adventure, but a series of small, insignificant moments, that love is not a fairy tale, but a fragile, fleeting emotion, that happiness is not a permanent state, but a rare, fleeting glimpse of something we can never hold onto. And in that understanding, there is a profound loneliness, a sense of being cut off from the world, from other people, from oneself.
Virginia Woolf
soft reminder: you’re alive. you survived the worst nights you’ve ever experienced. you picked yourself up when you were at rock bottom. you made it through the worst relapses, loneliness, heartbreak, failure and darkness in your life. when you wanted to disappear you stayed, time and time again. you can make it through anything. you will get through this too.
not enough secret gardens and hidden passageways and bookshelves that open to a mysterious library these days. get working on that girls.

what if he’s written “mine” on my upper thigh only in my miiiiiinnd? one slip and falling back into the hedge maze, oh, what a way to diiiiiiee! i keep recalling things we never did, messy top lip kiss, how i long for our trysts! without ever touching his skin, how can i be guilty as sin?
you are presented with 2 copies of the same book
the first copy is in tip top condition. a little yellowed, hinting at age, but other than that, there is barely even a crease in the spine. there are no marks, and the owner says that they always keep their books in a book bag when carrying them around.
the second book is battered. absolutely wrecked. it is yellowed, the spine has multiple creases, and there are scriblings in pencil all over every single page, the thoughts of the owner entwined magically with the book forever. there are a few highlighted bits and bookmarked pages.
reblog if the second one is the one that you consider to be a well-loved book :) i just want to see smtg
I'm sad today, so i bought a book. I'm still sad, but at least i have a new book.

Susan Sontag, from As Consciousness Is Harnessed to Flesh: Journals and Notebooks 1964-1980
“It's taboo to admit that you're lonely. You can make jokes about it, of course. You can tell people that you spend most of your time with Netflix or that you haven't left the house today and you might not even go outside tomorrow. But rarely do you ever tell people about the true depths of your loneliness, about how you feel more and more alienated from your friends each passing day and you're not sure how to fix it. It seems like everyone is just better at living than you are. A part of you knew this was going to happen. Growing up, you just had this feeling that you wouldn't transition well to adult life, that you'd fall right through the cracks. And look at you now, it's happening.”
“are you okay?” no bitch i’ll never experience a passionate romance like the ones you read in books
“So, if you are too tired to speak, sit next to me because I, too, am fluent in silence.”
— R. Arnold
I am jealous of those who think more deeply, who write better, who draw better, who look better, who live better, who love better than I.

the tumblr and pinterest girlies have made me realize that i am not the only one thinking my silly thoughts and that we all in fact are crazy and share at least a third of our brain cells

In this house, we wear heart shaped lockets and make heart shaped things, stare at moon and do grandma activities and just love, love, love and love.
