In The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence, we get to see him portray an alternative type of masculinity, opposite John Wayne doing John Wayne. He is even more wet noodle-y, to put emphasis on his incompatibility with the rugged masculinity of the cow-boy, he wears an apron for a lot of the film, again, to blur his masculinity, and he gets shot. Hot! Also he's older here, if that's your thing. Long story short: He's giving librarian chic and The Philadelphia Story made me want to be poly."

I know it's super late but when I was in my horror genre class this evening we were talking about subgenres and about actors that appear in certain types of horror movies as certain types of characters. My group got to Justin Long and his many deaths/misadventures. This was all I could think of and I needed to make it.

Our RA's planned an activity where we make Vision boards. I was trying to show everything I'm currently about.
Oscar Awards and VHS' because I'm a film major.
Ankh-Morpork post office and Reaper Man quote because of my never ending obsession with Pratchett.
VFD quote and a match because of my resurgent interest in Series of Unfortunate Events.
And other things that represent my background and interests!
So yeah, I thought it would be a good idea to start Succession after it had ended and I just got through season 1. I have a few questions and a few observations.
Questions:
How much did that brain hemorrhage really affect Logan's personality? At the beginning of episode one we get to see how he interacts with people, but it wasn't enough time for me to get a good enough read on his personality before the brain bleed. I get that he's always been ruthless, but how much of that was turned up to 11? Through snippets of shared childhood memories, it seems that he's always kinda been this way. But has he?
What is up with Tom? He seems to really love Shiv, but when he's interacting with any other member of the family it seems like more than him just wanting to be accepted. It seems like he's trying to worm his way into the family and, by extention, the company. I get the aggression/relationship with Greg. He found someone in the family lower on the pecking order than he is. But is he a good guy? He wanted to release those documents to the public, but was that his good person conscious or was it just him thinking about what would be good for the company?
Lastly, what's going on with Roman's character? For the most part he's a very weasely person, going with the flow to see what can benefit him at any given time. But what's that about him being sent to military school as a child because he was the weakest of the siblings? Him asking that girl to marry him and her calling him out asking if he thinks that's how he can get people to stay? Him cowering behind stuff when his fathers mad, resulting in him backing out on Kendall? I don't know if I particularly like him, but he's definitely intriguing.
Maybe I'm just not very media literate, but I know complex characters when I see one and omg. I guess give me a Preschool show because my emotions can't handle it.
And as for observations, the only thing I have to say is that the acting is amazing, especially with Jeremy Strong and Kieran Culkin. Like I said, the way they sometimes cower when Logan's being extra dominant is soooo good.
Wish me luck going in to season 2!

I'm waiting for my next class rn and not even an hour ago I was talking to a friend about Tony Hale winning that Children's Emmy about a month ago. Now some other film majors are taking about Alvin and the Chipmunks: Road Trip and referring to him as Buster Bluth.

Sometimes you just think about how certain mannerisms you pick up from your loved ones will be one of the few things you'll have of them once they're gone. That even memories won't last as long as holding yourself a certain way or how you move when you get excited. Memories of a person can't be passed on throughout generations, but a mannerism can and they're a way of showing the mark that someone has left on the world, decades or even centuries after the memory of them has faded. It shows that they were here and that they mattered.
And sometimes you just want to go to Cracker Barrel.
My New Years resolutions that I keep adding to as the month goes on:
Be more organized. Make sure my desk and areas are clean and manageable.
Get out and interact with people more/go to more events and socialize around campus. Hopefully this will help with my increasing anxiety.
Watch more scary movies to build up my nerves.
Interact more with the fan bases I'm a part of (I think I mentioned this one in my introduction post.)
Finish the three fanfictions I started last year and then ghosted. There is no reason that I shouldn't be able to have them all done by the end of the year.
On a similar note, make sure I reply to every comment instead of doing the equivalent of cowering in the corner until they go away. They took the time to say how much they liked my poorly written work, so the least I can do is thank them for their time.
I'm writing this down so hopefully I can hold myself accountable when I eventually start to slip.
PSA: the bots are getting sneaky
Hey guys just fyi, I haven’t seen anything about this, but I don’t get a follower notification when a bot follows me anymore.
My follower count will magically go up, but my activity doesn’t notify me of being followed by them. But when I click on my list of followers, there they all are.
At first I thought this was an issue with my tumblr specifically, but I still get notified when other people follow me, so I think that bots just found a work around.
Well well well, if it isn't my two favorite men. Peter Falk and Kermit.

You guys know that boy who beat Tetris about a week ago now? He's from Oklahoma! (Yes, i'm just now learning this but also: Finally, something good from our state!)
But I've been thinking about this news in relation to that one Sky News reporter (you know the one), and I'm starting to wonder if her hostility was not only because of his age and her lack of understanding about how important and credible video games are to a younger generation, but also because he's an American.
To add insult to injury, he's an American from the Midwest from a town no person in Europe has ever heard of.
He's not from Boston, LA, Tampa, or any other buzzworthy place. He's a boy from a small area whose done this amazing thing, but because of all these reasons, it was beneath her to have to report about such a person.
And honestly if that's the case... she deserves to work at Sky News.
It's good to see my mortal enemy on Tumblr (whom I've never interacted with and who doesn't know I exist) posting more again.
I've missed the feeling I get when my lip curls up in disgust and my eyes role so violently in response to what they're reading that they get stuck in the back of their sockets.
I think it's better to be a silent hater on such people because they've proven time and again they don't care about any of their critics prespectives. At least I can take solace in knowing that unlike the person in question, I don't say the most vile things I can think of to elicit a response while attacking marginalized communities.

I was hanging out with my beloved friend @pokegirl0238 and we eventually started talking about fanart. We're both doing some, but I'm not as skilled or as experienced as she is with drawing.
But never fear! She has given me a few things to keep in mind for the next time I'm drawing something.
