Rumors of a Total War: WarHammer 40k are making the rounds again, but the problem with that will always be Space Marines. Does CA create a single Space Marine “race” with lords, heroes, and units from different chapters? Does CA include every Space Marine chapter with a modern codex? Does CA include every popular Space Marine chapter? No matter what CA does with Space Marines, they’ll either piss too many people off, invest too many resources into Space Marines, or both.
That’s the issue, right? WHF and AoS have a reasonably even factional spread. TWW40K would end up like half a dozen non-space marine factions and then like 30 chapters.
If I wanted that kind of homogeny I’d play a historical total war game.
