supposed lance arc. literally what the fuck. i had half assed hope that klance would ever even fucking interact this season, but i was pretty sure that lance would finally get that fucking awaited arc he deserved. there was so much shit they could have built on, like lance’s impending insecurities, his homesickness, or maybe the fact that he can literally control three different fucking bay adds, but we don’t see the sword once (not counting when they formed voltron).but what did we get? a whole fucking episode dedicated to how fucking stupid he is, everyone fucking reiterating it over and over and over again throughout the season. deadass, a whole gameshow-esque tv show where they spend a good portion of the time just reminding their viewers how dumb he is. because i guess vld literally doesn’t know what a fucking arc is when they only probably wrote one for pidge and keith. of fucking course they only two brown boys in the entire fucking crew don’t have proper story arcs, because who literally gives two shits about them? they’re comedic relief to voltron.

adashi. what the f uck. voltron knew that heir fucking audience was a bunch of lgbt youth, and they fucking exploited it to get more ratings on s7. There was no fucking implication that shiro and adam were even romotely romantic, the person next to me just thought they were fucking roommates. these kids are making fanart, being happy, celebrating the fact that one of the strongest characters in the show is gay, but they introduce adam for like three fucking seconds then kill him off for shock value or whatever. if they didn’t tell us they were fucking fiances it wouldn’t have felt tragic. but it was, because so many people were so excited, finally, for lgbt rep. but vld gave us a half assed backstory to try and appease their lgbt audience.

hunk arc. i don’t know what i really expected but they gave us this intriguing storyline about hunk being the glue of the team, but also having his own personal issues. they explore the topic of his family, then just leave it at that, it’s never brought up again. i know they weren’t originally planning to have a hunk arc, bc ya know, why would they have an arc for a big, dark-skinned guy like hunk who was the center of fat jokes? even allura’s arc was kind of plain. her first one was her connection to her father, which ended quickly, and the lotor arc, and the fact that her main arc was to be betrayed by a guy that enslaved and slaughtered her ppl leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

obviously, queer baiting. most of the time, i think when people claim that a show ‘queerbaits’ its a bit over dramatic. but they literally fucking told their audience that there was going to be lgbt relationships, specifically lance. from the beginning, they hinted at his sexuality and whenever asked about klance, they literally fucking said ‘uwu it’s natural to ship them’ ‘lance is going to b someone’s first choice’ ‘lgbt characters will be included’. they try to cater to an lgbt audience in the laziest way possible, by slapping in a random character and saying ‘lol it’s shiro’s fiance’ but then fucking kill him five minutes later. it’s not representation.

i’m so fucking tired of going back to this fandom, literally giving up hours of sleep to support a fucking show that doesn’t even care about its fans. i literally have practice in a few hours. even if they lazily write klance into s8, give hunk and lance a well written arc, and give them the proper representation they deserve, it’s not going to be satisfying, bc it’s going to be rushed.

it was a pretty interesting storyline, sure, beautifully written and animated. but fuck this

the hiatus is taking so long because togashi is storing psychic energy so hes strong enough to make pariging canon hes gonna take us out in one hit
