Late Shift | Jasper X Chuck E Cheese

[I don’t write many fan fics and this is my first one sharing to the public, so please understand it’s probably not written amazingly, I just wanted to get it out there.]

[Semi Lit, MLM, Headcannons, Includes PTT, Ambiguous time]

Chapter 1

The gang sat at the center of the diner talking casually between each other, the restaurant was closed and most of the arcade machines were turned off leaving the usually loud atmosphere an unnerving silence. The hum of the fridge from the kitchen echoed out as the gang ate the last pizza Pasqually was willing to make for that night. Chuck cleared his throat as he stood up on to the stage, it wasn't at all necessary since it was just the gang that would actually hear him, and they were right in front of him, but Chuck E Cheese was a theater major. The entertainer spoke in a cheerful mood "Alright, good job as always today everyone! Pasqually has already headed home early, but Mr Munch and Helen already got cleaning duty last week so it's me and Jasper this night!" Helen raised her hand letting go of the pizza that her and Mr Munch we're both tugging on trying to get a snag of "I can stand in for Jasper! It would give a good chance for some more 1-1 time" she gave those silly blink eyes as she rested a wing under her beak. Jasper gave a nervous laugh as he waved his paw standing up "Naww, it's alright. You n' Munch already worked hard I should chip in too. Plus someone has to pick up dolly from the bar before she works overtime again." The dog's tail swayed a bit as he watched the gang bicker about who would deal with Dollie, as they scooped up their car key's and bags, with a wave they opened the door and walked back to their car.

Jasper stood paws on his hips as he watched the cars drive away and felt a little sad, he already missed his friends, even if he knows he'll see them tomorrow to play the same songs and make more children smile. Chuck E poked the back of the dog with a broom stick making him turn around curiously. "You wanna sweep under the arcades while I clean the kitchens?"  The dog smiled nodding "Sure boss!~" as he took the broom Chuck E replied as he walked to the kitchen "No need for the formalities we've been friends for years Jasper."

As Jasper swept under the arcades he thought about how the restaurant came to be. He thought about how they all met through a bar where they each were performing at through the night, and Chuck E brought them all together into a band. And how everyone got into the same collage, lots of happy tears were shed that night. And now they had their own restaurant, that they performed at every night. He had a restaurant that he performed at every night, with his best friends...not all of them of course, lots of friends like crusty and bubbles obviously didn't work but they'd visit sometimes, and every so often give a performance.

Jasper shook the pan filled with the pile of dust and grime that had built up under the machines, all in a single week?...or maybe Munch and Helen weren't that thorough. He sighed as he looked at the trash, someone will have to take it out when we're done cleaning' Jasper thought. He shrugged as he walked over to the kitchen, peering in he smelled how clean it had become, the metal tables where all shimmering and the floor looked glossy, it seemed Chuck E had just finished mopping, and was now in the back finishing the last of the dishes. Jasper walked behind right as Chuck E turned off the dishes, the rat whipped his forehead sighing as he looked over at the dog. The rat smiled lightly "Oh Hey, done with the sweeping?" He looked over at the dishes shrugging "Mind helping me put these in there right spots?" The mouse looked a tad bit nervous, Jasper ignored it smiling though "Sure Chuck" he carefully took a platter of the collection from the pile to take it to its right cabinet, "What's been going on with you Chuck? Anything intrestin'?" The dog spoke in his scruffy western accent. Chuck E shrugged as he stacked the plastic cups "Not really, haven't been able to focus on much outside the restaurant." Chuck E had been enveloped in keeping the restaurant in working condition, he'd become a bit of a workaholic, he hasn't been able to peruse much else, including building courage to confess to his many upon many years crush, Jasper.

Chuck E gulped nervously as he started to sort silverware, 'In a way this would be a good time to tell him Chuck, you don't get private time with him that often anymore.' He shook his head internally as he reminded himself. 'That would just ruin your relationship with him, you have no clue how he would respond! There is a 0% chance he has the same feelings, he just sees you as a friend Chuck.'  As he placed the final fork and pushed back the drawer he felt his mood sour a bit, he hadn't been the same since opening this restaurant, in the way that he hadn't been as brave as before. Chuck E barely took risks before, and considering the amounts of risks it took to get to this restaurant, it meant quite a lot to suddenly take zero risks. Maybe he should take it, this is where he makes a change...and finally confesses, it's better to do so then regret never trying. Maybe in the end there is some small chance that maybe, Jasper would see him as more then a friend?

"Hey Jasper, can you go take out the trash? We're almost done I'll just lock everything up while you go" Chuck E spoke, the dog nodded "M'kay" he shrugged as he walked out to do just that.

Chapter 2

As Jasper pushed back open the door to the resultant his ears perked up at the strum of a guitar. The restaurant was dark except for a single stage light that shone at the center, where Chuck E was strumming at his guitar eyes glued shut as he hummed. Jasper found himself staring as he shimmed through the arcade games and through the tables, he stopped as a chair scrapped loudly when he bumped into it. The Guitar echoed with a bad strum that felt like it went multiple notches out of tune from it.

The Rat felt his heartbeat quicken when he opened his eyes and stared down the the dog who had is hat gripped in his hands staring up at him. Chuck E watched the other male stutter a bit as he grabbed the chair pushing it back under the table, trying to find something to say. Chuck E could practically hear his heartbeat as he stood up and spoke, trying to form words that felt like a single vowel took all his energy to muster. "U-Umm. Jasper...." He took a deep breath as he stepped off the stage, and got eye level with the dog. "Look...I've felt this way for a while now...a-and." Jasper put his cowboy hat back on as his ears folded down and he formed a concerned look.

Did Jasper do something wrong? He's been completely loyal? Did he do something bad and forget?

Chuck E mumbled a bit, clearing his throat as he repeated it a clearer. "Jasper I like you. More then a friend." Jaspers eyes went from concerned to shocked, and then bewildered. The dog felt his head turn away from the rat and then back, he was trying to figure out how to respond, but he wasn't even sure what to say every second he stayed silent he felt more guilty, leaving Chuck hanging as he turned around walking away and stuttering a "I-I'll be goin- h-home now..." he tried to hastily get away from Chuck, he was too confused to try to talk to him.

Jasper couldn't look at the other male in the eyes, it felt like if Jasper did then he'd explode, not from anger....Jasper didn't know what, it felt like a knot had been tightened in his chest and was throbbing bigger and bigger. Jaspers eyes glued on the door and he could hear the faint begging from the rat for the dog to come back. Jasper stumbled into a chair on his haste through the dark restaurant, it made a loud screech that echoed through whole diner. The dog just stumbled and kept walking to the exit, not bothering to fix it.

Jasper pushed open the door and felt his legs go from a speed walk to a full sprint to his car. He knew it was ridiculous, running like there was a serial killer, but he had to keep moving. Cause if he stopped, and looked back at his dear friend. Jasper felt like he would die from guilt. He jumped into his truck, and with shaking paws fumbled with his keys shoving it into its spot and hastily driving out of the driveway. Jaspers paw gripped onto the wheel, over and over in his brain he thought. Don't think about it.

I’m gonna post the aftermath of the vet clinic tomorrow but I’m also gonna post some Julie! I’m even gonna try drawing a full body of sally and Poppy which I’ve never done before so wish me luck! Haha!

(This was also the first time I drew howdy so sorry that he looks weird)

OnlyMando AU - Ch. 1

Hey! This is just more branching off of my last main post, and was actually suggested by @cutemercutio !

Fennec stops in her tracks at Boba’s rude comment, but her eyes dart over to the website on his computer and she dashes over, pushing Boba away to see.

Fennec: OnlyMands? What the hell is that?

Boba: It’s nothing! Now get out! Don’t you have some people to kill or something?

Fennec: I’m actually taking a vacation. What is this? Why is his shoulder piece on the ground?

Boba was blushing harder than before, embarrassed at the site he is using, but Fennec seems clueless.

Boba: It’s a, uh. It’s a site for…you know…adult stuff.

Fennec raises her brows in disappointment and gestures to the screen.

Fennec: This is what gets you off? That’s so vanilla.

Boba: For Mandalorians this is pretty extreme.

Fennec: I thought you weren’t a Mandalorian?

Boba fidgets.

Boba: Well, I’m not, but I do like a guy in a suit.

Fennec (sarcastically): Don’t we all.

Fennec looks around the room and grabs some spotchka on the shelf and a small laser gun.

Fennec: There you are!

She turns around to look at Boba, standing there awkwardly, trying to side eye the paused video on the site.

Fennec: Well, do you wanna come with me on this vacation or do you wanna stay here and jerk it.

Boba blushes hard and gives a disapproving glare as Fennec smirks back. He then sighs and clicks out of the computer.

Boba: I guess a vacation wouldn’t be too bad.

Fennec: Good. Now pack your stuff! We’re leaving in a bit!

Fennec leaves the room, but quickly leans her head back in.

Fennec: Oh, and Boba.

Boba: What.

Fennec: Make sure to wash your hands.

Fennec leaves the room chuckling as Boba sighs.

CUT TO:

The hot sun broils on, as the mounds of sand develop the landscape. The only thing keeping Boba and Fennec safe from these conditions are the helmets and the speeder creating a cool wind.

Boba presses on the side of his helmet.

Boba: How long till we get there?

Fennec: It’s gonna be a little while till we make it-

A huge crash can be heard from the speeder as Fennec is thrown overboard. The speeder spins violently out of control and plants into the ground, exploding into a bunch of little pieces.

Boba instantly grips the brakes and tries to shield himself from any debris as Fennec stabilizes and guards herself.

The noise echoes and fades away, and they both look at each other in annoyance.

Fennec: This’ll take some money off of our vacation budget won’t it?

Boba: I knew our last mechanic was a cheap bastard.

Boba shook his head.

Boba: We’ll have to find someone nearby to check this one. Don’t want to walk all the way. You hop onto my speeder and we’ll drive over to the next town.

Fennec: There’s one close by. I’ll drive us over.

Fennec hops in the front and they speed off.

CUT TO:

Peli: Take that! Look at those cards! Pair of queens! Earth poker is a lot of fun!

Peli Motto slams down her cards, revealing the cards and the pair of Queens. She grins ear to ear at the person in front of her, Din Djarin.

Din then softly places down his hand, which shows a pair of Kings.

Peli: That’s no fair! Why is the man more powerful than the woman!

Din, pushing the credits he won back his way: Earth has some…interesting ideas about genders don’t they?

Peli: You’re damn right!

Peli looks down at her time counter and groaned.

Peli: Oh man, I have to get back to my shop soon.

Din: Why don’t you let the droids run the shop for the day?

Peli: are you kidding? The droids would destroy the place!

Fennec: Speaking of destroyed.

Peli and Din look over to see a woman with black hair in a braid and a black speeder suit, muscular and a powerful presenting woman, with a bag of credits in her hand.

Peli: Who are you? How did you find me?

Fennec: just asked the bartender. Name’s Fennec. Me and my friend were using our speeders, and mine broke into a million pieces because of our last shit mechanic. So I hope you can do better.

Peli: I know I can do better, but I can’t fix something that is broken into pieces like that.

Fennec: Of course. We just want you to check up and fix the one we’re using while we reschedule our trip and settle some business. Is this enough?

Fennec sets down the heavy bag of credits, which spills out onto the table. Peli laughs as she grabs the bag.

Peli: See, I may have lost at poker, but I’ve won the war!

Peli turns to Fennec.

Peli: This…this will probably work.

Fennec smirks. Then turns to Din.

Fennec: Hey, haven’t I seen you before?

Din, flustered: …No.

Fennec realizes that Din does not want to talk about his occupation. She thinks of a new idea.

Fennec: I think it’s because of the armor. It’s similar to my friends. Boba! Come here!

Din: I’ve never seen another mandalorian on Tatooine.

Fennec: His father was one of those, uh, ‘foundlings’ I think they’re called. But he isn’t part of the actual mandalorian group. He does have impeccable Mando’a.

Boba walks up, with two full mugs of spotchka.

Boba: Here, have some. Now what did you need me for-

Boba quickly spots him.

Boba POV

Din. Din Djarin. The one I’ve been watching and lusting after on OnlyMands. He’s here and I am a sweaty messy smelly wreck.

Din looks back and quickly realizes who it is.

Din POV

Holy shit. This was the guy who’s been sponsoring and supporting me on OnlyMands ever since I popped up. He’s actually hot, and I look like a meek mess of a man.

One thought both crossed their minds, however.

This is either gonna go amazingly well, or I’m fucked.
