hey authors :D so this post applies to EVERYONE, but especially those of y’all with anxiety or OCD
if you are writing something that has a stereotypical trope?? that’s perfectly okay. even if it’s a trope that you see a lot of people on the internet whining about.
it’s okay. it’s okay if you have a love triangle, or a miscommunication incident, or.. well i’m having a hard time thinking of more examples of tropes, it’s a little bit late and it’s been a long day, but i just want y’all to know that it is YOUR story. YOUR writing.
why tf would you want to spend all your time writing something you don’t even like??? if you want to write about something but most people think that it’s ‘cringe’ or ‘cliche’, you should still absolutely go for it!!!
because after all, your stories are for YOU. maybe other people can read them too, if you’re posting or publishing them, but at the end of the day they’re ultimately for you.
you CANNOT make everyone happy. so PLEASE do not cut out things that make you happy just so you can try to make your writing more palatable to snobs on the internet who don’t realize that they can just choose not to read things that they don’t personally enjoy.
this was kind of long. anyways i hope y’all have a nice day/night :D
Gazing down at a holopad with the image of his squad all huddled together, it all comes flooding back to him. Not that he ever really forgot. They were…’Happier’ times…Right? If he truly cared as little as he claimed, why does it hurt so much?
You’ve seen Rex cry. Now it’s time to see this grumpy twig cry. (I’m actually very emotional towards him and making this deeply hurt my soul.) Newest painting that I’ve had so much fun making. I love TBB, and so I had to dedicate something to the most complicated and love-hate character in the series.
I am suffering and now you must as well.
@megafrost4
I was editing the other day and found a paragraph where every sentence had a semicolon
Edit/update: just found a sentence with two semicolons.
editing is like why the FUCK do i use so many semi-colons

Question for people who have played Republic Commandos: will it make me cry or is it just the books that will do that?

“Nobody will come asking if you need a break. Nobody will come to know something that you’ve never shared. It takes breaking the silence to express your needs, whether that’s canceling dinner plans or emailing a teacher or a boss. A break should not end you. A few days off should not undermine what you’ve accomplished.Nothing is more important than your choice to stay living so prioritize what you need to keep breathing and laughing and crying and eating and sleeping and finding new adventures—to keep you here.” – Hope W.
Thank you so much! This is perfect and really sweet, I love it. And yes you got timing time right
Hi, I'm putting in a request for the birthday thing,
Sarah, 20th Feb, +8:00
Echo please!!
Surprise (bc I never know what to do for my birthday), subtle acts, no gifts, for the other two either/both is fine
I think I got everything in there but if I missed something or you want more info let me know
Happy Birthday @maybe-some-words! I hope I queued this right for your time zone 😬
You didn't think Echo was going to make it back to visit Pabu by your birthday, so when an unexpected knock arrives at your door in the middle of your day, you aren't thinking much of it. It may be a neighbor or the post. You open the door, only half paying attention, and find a wonderful surprise: Echo standing with a lop-sided grin and his arms wide open.
After you get over your shock, and exchange many hugs and kisses, he offers to take you out for the day. You never really know what to do to celebrate, and Echo hasn't had any birthdays to celebrate, so you both decide to wing it. Walk around, enjoy the fresh air, and see what happens. As expected, you pass by plenty of people and engage in some pleasant chats. But you also come across a few adventures as well. A stray dog you chase around to help find its home. A bookstore selling books you've had your eye on at discount. Some kids who invite you to play hopscotch.
When you start to get hungry, Echo recommends a restaurant that has great appetizers. You end up ordering a dish of each one and sharing. You catch Echo whispering to the waiter as you make a bathroom trip, but soon discover he'd tipped them off about your birthday as they come out with one of your favorite flavors of cupcake and sing you a song. You take the treat to go and share it with Echo back at home, snuggled under a blanket and enjoying a peaceful end to an unexpected birthday.

Time Travel Fix-It-Fic idea where a Bad Ending happens, but then one of the characters is magically sent to the beginning of the story. it seems like they're the only one who's been sent back in time and they're like "Huh, is this my second chance? I have to try my best to fix everything! I have to do it on my own though, if I tell anyone else that I've lived a future with [Bad Ending], they would never believe me" so they try to push things toward a better outcome while staying secretive about the time travel thing. but it turns out that every character was sent back in time and everyone is trying on their own to fix the situation, but all of them think they're the only one who was sent back in time and that they have to hide it from the others, so they're all being secretive from each other and trying to act normal while fixing everything and they all have different ideas of what "fixing everything" even means and all of them are stupid and it just devolves into everything being worse
