Miscellaneous Sketches and Further Explanation of Headcanon Below Cut (Heads Up! Slight Blood and Depictions of Semi-Consciousness)
Typed Out Description of my Written Words Verbatim:
Text Box 1 (Above):
"I'd imagine coming out of possession would leave Ford in a LONG state of limpness/grogginess (I wouldn't be surprised if Fidds found him slumped over his workspace, phasing in and out [of consciousness]).
Random Blurb of Text Connected to Text Box 1:
"Like I get the frenzied state, but I'd love to see the state of numbness that comes w/ possession."
Text Box 2 (Bottom):
"In my head, Fidds would probably check on Ford, making sure his heart rate was regular (for lack of better term), and make sure to properly accommodate him after a 'bender' (again, for lack of better term). But take my interpretations with a grain of salt, I have a LOT of lore to catch up with. (Smiley face)."
I've seen a lot of Friends-to-Lovers and Old Rekindled Love in Fiddauthor spaces, but like. Has anyone considered Academic-Rivals-Who-Are-Roommates-To-Friends-To-Distant-Besties-To-Reunited-Friends-Who-Are-Lab-Partners-To-Betrayed-Strangers-To-Rekindled-Old-Lovers?
They're rivals forced to share a close space with one another, which slowly makes them get to know each other and they become friends with what they don't recognize as attraction (queerplatonic or romantic or a secret third thing, what-fucking-ever it is) until after they're in that Distant Besties stage. They know each other like the back of their hands, maybe even had some sort of fumblings together in college that they didn't know how to name. But they think "oh, it's been a while, and the other would never feel the same, surely, he's busy with his research/he has a wife and a family now". BUT THEN, but then Ford calls up Fiddleford and of course he drops what he's doin', they're friends and they've missed each other. They reunite. They get to know each other allll over again, and they pick up where they left off as if no time has passed at all. Except time has passed, so it's like learning about the changes in trees through the seasons: it's the same trees you've always known but a little different here and there from all they've been through. They grow close again, and maintain this sort of professional-ish friends relationship that may or may not kinda dip back into whatever they were questioning about themselves back in college. Old habits die hard, and stubborn people die harder. Lines between friends and partners blur, and guess what bitch, there's this nebulous situationship they get themselves into Pre-Bill Cipher that's not exactly platonic but it ain't exactly romantic either, it's just Them. BUT THEN BILL HAPPENS. Bill happens and Ford slowly distant himself again and it gets really fucking bad, god and the portal incident and Ford won't believe his "muse" is really all that evil bc HUBRIS and TOXIC TRIANGE BITCH, yada yada, shit goes downhill real fast. They fuck each up, what, with Ford basically having another situationship with a dream demon and Fidds using his memory gun (addiction analogy, basically) on Ford without his consent. Yeah.
THAT'S WHEN THE BETRAYED STRANGERS STAGE STARTS, MOTHERFUCKERS. Because now, shit's hit the fan, Fiddleford leaves, they both feel betrayed in their own right for their own reasons, and that situationship technically unofficially breaks off and leaves them feeling oddly lonely and hurt as all hell. Bill's true intentions are revealed at some point or whatever. Bill takes this chance to further fuck up Ford (because of course he fucking does), and Fidds gets beyond addicted to the memory gun and uh the divorce and not seeing his kid for the longest time as he slowly and surely loses his sanity and mind. Paranoid Ford takes a front seat to a play I like to call "Being the Narrative's Favorite is Bad for Me", and he kinda loses touch with reality a little bit. and then the entire thing with Stan showing up worse for wear and being accidentally shoved into the portal.
Skip, like, thirty years, he's back, Bill is finally defeated and now may Ford can finally rest after decades of being in paranoid survival, Stan gets his memory back slowly as he recovers, Ford meets his family, his niblings, Soos, Wendy, that weird Robbie kid I guess. And then he reunites, again, with Old Man McGucket, aka: Fiddleford. And Christ alive, the GUILT between the two of them is enough to fuel a fleet of airplanes ten times over. AND THEN IT'S THE REKINDLED OLD LOVERS STAGE, BABY. They get the chance to start over, they're too old for regrets and all they've done, they work on forgiving each other and healing to some degree of betterment, and YES they finally finally spend time working on whatever this not-platonic-not-romantic-secret-third-thing shit is between them.
They get to be happy, after everything, and that's the way they die at the end of their lives: with each other, in peace.
I think Stanley being more relatable may stem from the difference between his and Ford's trauma after they separate the first time.
Ford goes through a lot of terrifying shit because of him messing with the fae and a literal dream demon. His mind, body, soul aren't his anymore. He pushed away his best friend in favor of Bill, and both him & Fiddleford are worse off because of it. The portal incident. Being sent spiraling into the portal himself. Being an interdimensional outlaw for 30+ years, constantly in survival mode. All of this trauma that stems from supernatural origins, or straight up from him being manipulated the way he was.
Stan, on the other hand, his trauma is all stemmed from real life shit that happens all the time irl. Being homeless, surviving by any means, being kicked out for stupid reasons. Heists gone awry turned into hell to pay. Constantly changing names and skipping towns. Always on the run. Never settling down until his literal lowest point, expecting to die soon, expecting to get killed, until a postcard from his estranged brother he hasn't talked to in 10+ years asking for help. Stealing food and driving away as fast as he can. Mistakes turning into life or death situations. Chewing his way outta a fucking car trunk. Conning his way through life because he has no other choice in his situation. And then continuing to con and scam because it's all he knows. And everything I haven't mentioned because that list is a long one.
Stanley's trauma has such an impact because that shit happens, irl, to a lot of people. Being homeless, getting kicked out, turning to crime to survive on the streets. Overindulgence. Fucked up shit that I won't mention right now.
This isn't to discredit or dismiss Ford's trauma, no, that shit is horrifying.
I just wanted to write this out, especially as someone who's been in similar situations as Stan (being homeless), because I think about a lot and wondered why he was so more relatable to me than Ford is.
This may just be me, idk. Take this as you will. Jumbled thoughts and all that.
Stanley Photograoher Pines where he takes pictures of dangerous things. The more dangerous the more he's paid for it afterall, he's a freelancer and found a broken camera that he fixed himself.
It all began with photographing the gangs he was in or near by to and slowly began to expand to his love for adventure. He will snap pictures of these creatures and almost everyone loves them whenever they believe it to be real ("finally! Proof!") Or believe he edits and makes some good fake creatures ("an artist, truly..")
How does he take pictures of such dangerous creatures you may ask... well, if you were to peek in his little secret photo album you'd see him posing with them, drinking and playing poker, having dinner with their families and even photographing their weddings. Yeah, he's friends with them.
Enter Stanford Pines, anomaly fanatic who just discovered an anonymous photograoher who seems to know all about these anomalies.
You guys will not believe who came through my shop
Holiday Classics
Been thinking about Ford watching the 70s Animated Lord of the Rings Movies... (companion comic to this post!)
What does a homeless beggar, who has nothing but his car and problems with major mafia groups along with the police in thirty-two states, need?
A pet possum, a kid, and another kid, and more possums, yes, definitely, absolutely!
I love the fact that Stanley had a pet possum. Partly, yes, because it's a parallel with Mabel, and I LOVE THE PARALLELS BETWEEN STAN AND MABEL.
Timestuck au >>>>>>>>> my life
Some unserious FrankenFord doodles
(Insert awful joke about Ford closing his eyes, but not being able to block out Stan's suffering because his eyelids are transparent.)
For the record, this isn't super accurate to what I have in mind, lol.
Apropos that Broadcast dimension au, I have kept this from you out of context, and will probably keep it out of context until I can think of how to put my thoughts into words.
But something I can tell you is that Stan's dream formatting changes throughout the story in my head! Like the more abstract, morose or emotion-heavy scenes are in my head either formatted quietly like this with attention to only the mundane or with attention to the full picture, where small details and gestures disappear in the scale?
I'll gather my thoughts some time after I've gotten my presentation tomorrow over with

Part 1
Me yapping under the cut
Yeah y’all expected this. He’s been the cover image for this comic for a while and has only been in one panel so far, so it’s time to fix that! This is one of the parts I’ve been SO excited to make, and Ngl I’m so excited for the next few parts too. Things are getting serious!
Oddly long Inspirational quotes from Stanley pines that is very inspiring...
meta thing on how i never draw older stan and ford because im not good at it
text under the cut
"listen kid i know they tell you practice makes perfect but im living proof that it doesnt.
practice makes embarrassment if you're not perfect like immediately so if you ask me i say just don't try at all.
yeah that's probably your best bet really just don't try and you'll be fine trust me i've been through this shit a million times it's best to just not try. ever
because if you're not good then you suck and thats way worse than just being some nobody who'll just die alone or some shit
anyway the keychains wont stock themselves get back to work"

Has anyone thought of making an SCP Gravity Falls AU... with Stanford as one of the higher-up scientists and whatnot. I just think it'd make a lot of sense... I don't know where anyone else would fit into this AU?? Maybe the entire town of Gravity Falls could be considered an "anomaly" (because it basically is, in canon), and Ford is an SCP scientist sent there to make sure containment procedures are running smoothly.
Also I thought it'd be funny because Bill Cipher would actually not be a Keter class SCP ^_^; and I think that'd grind his gears so bad.
errrmm.... doodle dump???

FrankenFord AU
Someone mentioned that this AU should exist and I agree.
In this world, Ford tried to dismantle more of the portal before Stan arrived. Instead of getting sucked in, he got slammed into the machinery and broke either his neck or his brain after Stan pushed him. (He doesn't decompose because of magic. Maybe.)
Stan spends the first day tending to Ford's wounds, the second day waiting for him to wake up, and the third day trying and failing to look through Ford's stuff for a "quick fix." He's in shock and sleep deprived- so he's opening books and basically just holding them in front of his face. He isn't legitimately trying to resurrect Ford because he has no reason to think that's possible; it's just denial. That is, until he meets Bill, hears weird interference through radios, and gets more acquainted with Gravity Falls.
Insert some other half baked ideas about finding Journal 2, meeting McGucket and hoping he has cult magic, Ghost-Ford and Bill interactions, and Stan being less precise and more impatient, so Ford keeps being semi-ressurected or temporarily resurrected with really freaky side effects.
Things are so peaceful…

Part 1
This part took me the longest so far, almost 20 hours- it’s because I’ve been wanting to get better at backgrounds, instead of the vague suggestions of backgrounds I used to do haha.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/63857875/chapters/165904843
Warning lots of violence and like blood stuff in this chapter read at ur own risk. The second part is about Stan and Ford being split up in the mutivers and meeting alternative versions of themselves :3 if you have any ideas for who they might meet/AU's... I'm listening :)
toxic yaoi enjoyers how are we feelin??
"Twin!Delusion AU" by me and @ridokichan (from our previous post)
(their dynamic in nutshell, basically.)
This is partially based on bereavement hallucinations disorder (it is not nessesary for a person to be "passed" to fall under such diagnosis. but considering how on other side of the portal Stan didn't even knew if his brother is alive in there - name still works.)
Realistically speaking - those kind of hallucinations are a response to an overwhelming emotions, a coping mechanism & form of isolation formed desperation.
Stan is so desperate to fix the portal, to get his brother back/fix this mistake that mind will willingly make it seem like everything is alright.
You supress your emotions because you got more important things to focus on? Oh trust me they will find the way out.
Now a question: then why are they in a form of children?
Childhood represents innocence, unconditional love, and a time when they were truly happy together. Subconscious will always choose this form because it literally offers protection, allowing to mentally escape into the past rather than face the unbearable present. After all, Stans character is about partially clinging to the past while Ford was one that wanted to move forward. (i am not talking about Ford holding grudges from the past like a dead dog he is, no)
Seeking comfort in purest and safest version of your brother, one that never looked at you wrong, one that never pulled the curtains on you when you asked for help....... Sounds right to me.
You dirty brother killer.

Mabel and Dipper Goes to Silent Hill…. © Daryl Toh Liem Zhan 2012.
The twins’ darkest mystery begins when Grunkle Stan takes a detour from the highway after their close escape from the cops. Halfway through the unfamiliar path, their car broke down and they found themselves stranded in the middle of nowhere.
That is until Mabel found a sign that says ‘Welcome to Silent Hill’. Hoping to find some gas, Grunkle Stan left the twins in the car but hours passed and he never came back. The twins decided to walk into the fog covered town and look for him… but what they found is a town full of darker secrets than the one they’ve left behind in Oregon.
This is what happens when I’m listening to Silent Hill soundtracks while looking at Gravity Falls fan art.
