one thing about me as a batman fan is that im not 100% convinced his penis works very good. im completely fine with fanfic where hes horny as hell and fucks like a machine and all that but in my heart of hearts im like. this man has erectile dysfunction.

like first of all theres the psychological aspect, in the sense that that man is stressed the hell out and traumatized and paranoid and juggling like 600% more in his head than the average person, which im told doesnt usually contribute to great boners. so there's that part. getting the man to put down his schedules and business concerns and the three different cases hes working on in the back of his head and the updates he wants to make to the batmobile and all that shit. that guy is Distracted during sex. he loses his boner at least once a session because he starts thinking about killer croc or something and yeah hes freaky but not really in that direction, sorry. this is a thing that happens to him and is a known phenomenon to his partners.

and then second of all physiologically im not convinced that he hasnt mangled his penis to some degree in the course of all the training and crimefighting and whatnot. like even taking extra pains to protect it as im sure he would, all of the times that man has been exploded and thrown through walls and glass and all of the jumping off of buildings and swinging around he does?? i simply dont believe his penis has emerged entirely unscathed. you absolutely cant tell me that in the early days he didnt at least twice take a running leap off of something, misjudge his landing, and absolutely destroy his balls when he slipped and took a wrought iron fence full force between the legs. this must have happened. i know it to be true that this man has scars on his dick that he didn't ask someone to put there on purpose and i do kinda think it could eventually affect his sexual function, even aside from the impact of all of his other various and perpetual injuries causing him pain.

so what im saying is that my headcanon is that batman's dick game is weak as hell at least 50% of the time. what that dick do? today, absolutely nothing. tomorrow, who knows. which tbh i find kinda hot in a roundabout way actually, so. love that for him. sorry about your penis, batman.

I understand the appeal of writer!Jason Todd while he’s the Redhood but I don’t think YOU understand the appeal of writer!Jason while he’s a pre-teen Robin. That young man writes a field report like it’s a mystery novel, and like what is Bruce even supposed to say “Hey, chum… while the pacing of the report was very intriguing, I need you to be LESS detailed about the color of the suspects ‘emerald green orbs.’” No, he won’t!! because Jason may be a bit annoying but it’s a vast improvement from Dick “What happens with the titans is between me, god, and the emergency room on 34th ave.” Grayson who used to just write “fixed it :)” on cases he completed.

BATMAN #124 was important. I don’t think Felipe slipped. I don’t think anyone does. Yes, he probably deserved to die, but that really doesn’t matter, does it?

Jason has some thinking to do. If he lives, that is. If it turns out you decide to kill him, get a new Robin. I know a lot of people want Batman solo, but if he stays a brooding avenger forever, he’ll crack. He needs Robin. I’m not sure if that Robin is Jason, but Batman needs someone.

I feel like a lot of this comes from people who are uncomfortable with the whole “child soldier” concept and try to make it Less Bad by aging them up. But at the end of the day, Robin was designed as a vessel for child readers to imagine themselves as Batman’s sidekick. The whole concept of Superheroes is so impossibly ludicrous in the first place, I don’t think it’s necessary to try to apply real life morals to Every Single Situation. Let the nine year old fight crime in a silly outfit! It’s fiction!

i don’t really fuck with people making robin (any of them, really) much older then they were originally when they were introduced. ofc comics are sometimes vague about that sort of thing, but dick turned eight already living in wayne manor, so it feels weird when we have him start being robin at any older than 10. it cuts his time short when it was the longest period of batman history and also takes away the key factor that explains his actions and thought process as a child

time in comics is different than the real world, obviously, but we NEED to try and translate some of the irl context into the stories. a reader can’t understand the weight of dick needing to get out of batman’s shadow after being his sidekick for decades if in universe he was there for 3 years at best

i think writing about tim drake’s inherent, unbreakable awe of dick grayson and robin as a mantle and his views of heroism and selflessness that, even a decade on, are still so fundamentally shaped by what dick achieved despite his grief is making me mentally ill, actually

My roommate and I have been rewatching some comfort cartoons recently (ie Teen Titans and Young Justice) and it made me realize that there is a reoccurring theme in at the very least 3 TV show adaptations, which is anytime Dick Grayson is under just a little too much stress he immediately starts hallucinating. It isn't much, but it's certainly insane that it's happened 3 times (to my knowledge).

The whole POINT is to explore what happens when you take a guy who mentally is a caring and kind and decent and conflicted and messy human person and contrast that with him having the all powerful abilities of a god it's about the CONFLICT it's about the TENSION it's about the DOUBLE LIFE it's about wondering if you can theoretically spend 24/7 saving people because you don't have to eat or sleep or breathe can you actually justify having a job or going to bed or falling in love or living a life!!! It's about being well known as being powerful so your public persona can never once slip never be angry never trip up or else you become a symbol of fear rather than hope!!! It's about having to also keep yourself in check every day and having to keep yourself of two minds and having to explain over and over and over again that you're not interested in dominance you're not interested in power you're interested in justice and mercy and help. It's about no matter what you are always subduing some aspect of yourself either your mind or your body depending on which role you have to play!!! And all of that is JUST on the introspective level!!! Superman is one of the most fascinating characters ever if you think he's boring imo it's bc you're being boring about it
