I love that idea!!! It would be so cute, everybody thinking the 3 of them are actual siblingsšš Next thing you know everyone is also assuming Caleās a cat because theyāre his children, so has to be!
If the day comes that Raon decides to go into his human form itāll be because he wants to look exactly like his human!!! You canāt change my mindāšāāļø
(I can also see him deciding to grow his hair long because of Cale and Eruhabenš)
āSo, babysitting?ā
Alberu follows after the delinquent. From the record the vice-principal gave him access to, Cale frequently drinks alcohol, he often gets himself into a lot of fights, and he barely passed his classes at the end of the grading period. The teachers never call on him in class, girls and boys avoid him alike, and he is- supposedly- completely intolerable.
Which is why Alberu Crossman, whoās only a little older yet infinitely more mature has been assigned by the principal (his father) to get the troublemaker under thumb. Cale's father is quite wealthy, actually, and since there isn't much known about the successor to the Henituse family... it'd be bad if he had to be expelled.
Cale scowled. āYes, babysitting, your highness. Please, leave if you must,ā He jeers at Alberu, but internally he thinks, 'No, really. Please leave.' Otherwise, he might get caught in the act.
Of not actually being Cale.
Roksu aims a sour expression at Alberu, who returns it with a more flowery one. Acting as his twin for the day had been easy enough, mainly because being trash is great!- until Alberu Crossman strolled into his lunch period and introduced himself.
He is even following him out of the school to his job. Well, this job is Roksuās and not Caleās, but because he canāt ditch work nor can he get glib-tongued Alberu off his tail-
Well shit.
Thankfully, the kids call him hyung. Except Raon, who calls him human. Hopefully Alberu doesnāt look into it too much. If everything goes right, Alberu Crossman will be Cale's problem to deal with tomorrow. As it should have been.
āI didnāt know you liked kids, Cale,ā Alberu smiles charmingly, walking side by side with Roksu. āCan you introduce me?ā Roksu struggles to not put on his own disarming smile out of spite, instead plastering on a classic Cale Sneerā¢. It fits on his face perfectly, like heās playing a character in a play.
They enter the building and āCaleā guides Alberu to a colorful playroom, decked out in toys and a fountain of running water as the centerpiece (A gift from his father, who is still upset that Roksu doesn't visit more often). Thereās a tray of fruits and oatmeal on the small table in the corner of the room, except not a soul to be seen. Picking up a bowl of oatmeal and finding the ceramic to still be hot, Roksu almost smiles.
Alberu frowns. Where are the kids he's supposed to babysit?
Roksu tells the empty air, "Come on out."
Three children appear out of nowhere in front of them.
āHyung!ā
āHuman! Youāre back!ā
āHyung, nya.ā On examines Alberu some more.
All of the kids had been revealed the moment that Roksu spoke, as Raon unveiled the invisibility on them.
Raon runs up and grabs Roksuās hand, who places it on his head, rubbing the black hair comfortingly. āMm.ā Raon beams at the affection.
āRaon, On, Hong,ā they each look up at him at the call of their names. āThis is Alberu Crossman, he is doing a report on my trashy behavior. Donāt be rude."
All three children become hostile immediately. āHe isn't trash!ā
On observes Alberu with an intense glare. Raon shifts under Roksuās hand, his deep blue eyes glinting with magic. Roksu positions him away from the older teenās view. Raon grips onto Roksuās pant leg with a vengeance. Hong stares openly, offensive.
Alberu smiles at them.
"I'm visiting with Cale Hyung for today, nice to meet you."
Hong gasps suddenly.
āHe-!ā On gives her brother a look, and he clamps his hands over his mouth. Alberu feels a deep curiosity, as if something isnāt quite as it seems.
Roksu sighs. Itās going to be a long hour.
At the midway point, Alberu has easily disarmed the children. They look fascinated at the magic he shows them, while Roksu can only rub a palm over Raonās shoulder as a warning to keep his dragon magic under control. He's still just a child that wants to brag. Everything is going well.
Bang!
āHey Roksu! How was-ā Cale bursts through the door, bright red hair equipped with a shit-eating grin, wearing clothes far less fancy than his usual. He tenses up, frozen in place when he spots Alberu on the floor, politely sitting "crisscross applesauce" with the children. Roksu narrows a withering glare at his twin.
ā⦠Roksu?ā
Alberu looks at āCale,ā sitting next to him, the one he's spent the entire day with, who is trying to send what must be the real Cale into the sun with his eyes.
āHa⦠ha?ā Cale winces. Roksu wipes his expression from his face.
āCale-hyung, run! Thatās the humanās bad look!ā Alberuās eyes widen as he watches the confirmed real Cale bolt back into the hallway and out of the front door. Alberu whips his head back toward the stranger behind him, who is a perfect replica of the Cale who ran like Hell. Cale has an identical twin?? Since when? Why doesn't he go to school?
Roksu levels an emotionless gaze at Alberu. āHello, your highness. Donāt mind me.ā
Alberu can only watch in astonishment as this stranger walks out of the playroom, with a smooth and deadly gait as he hunts down his twin like a predator would to prey. He recalls the look 'Roksu' gave him and it sends a shiver down the principalās sonās spine. That gaze held secrets.
Something about this stranger is even more interesting than the sudden appearance of a twin.
On walks up to him, sitting down in his lap and looking into his eyes. āRoksu-hyung will be back soon, nya!ā Hong bounds over and sits next to his sister, grinning widely. Raon huffs and looks at the door. He wants his human to come back.
Iām reading Book 2, chapter 90, āWhy are you there? (5)
And Iām just loving how pampered Cale is by the others. Heās so cute!š„°
Cale is looking for a place to sit. Toonka approached him and after hearing Caleās reason, he breaks a bolder for Cale to sit! Cale is baffled because now the bolder is too sharp to sit, Sui Khan/LSH appears and cuts the sharp bolder like is tofu and now is perfect for Cale to sit. Then, Beacrox places 3 handkerchiefs on the boulder for Cale to sit, Cale grumbles but sits anyway. Then, Ron places a warm blanket over Cales shoulders so he doesnāt get cold. Choi Han stands behind him like a guard knight and Raon is happily sharing his thoughts with Cale! I love how much they fuss over him! Heās so baby girl coded! Meanwhile the Martial Artists are all scared out of their minds because Cale had recently used the Dominating Aura on them! And are looking at Cale whoās sitting comfortably like they might die at any moment if they offend Cale in any way!!š¤£
The fact that all 3 children (On, Hong, and Raon) have a piggy bank but as far as I can remember havenāt actually used the money in it because Cale always ends up buying it for them (i.e in the Caro Kingdom, Vegas City). So at this point the piggy bank is just a collection of coins Cale has given them and I think thatās sweetšš„²
Tcf part 2 chapter 404
Cale's voice is cheerful and excited. He was kicking his feet while riding on Eruhaben's back. And then he raised his hand leisurely and said hello.
Cale behaves so childishly and cutely with Eruhaben sometimes it's literally so heartwarming. He's kicking his feet while Goldie Gramps is giving him a piggyback ride stooop that's so precious!!!šššš„¹š„¹š„¹
Itās really fun to see the difference between alcaleās affection. To me, Alver isnāt interested if it isnāt his Caleāthe one he came to know and cherishāwhich sounds cruel, especially if youāre a sucker for things like āI will love you in every form/timeline,ā ā¦but why would Alver place that exclusive value on any other version when his is still right there? His eyes have always been set on the core rather than the shell. See; when he became the Dark Tiger and clocked his Cale in 20yo. KRS vs when things were settled and he was using the Dark Tiger form to communicate in the Temple wherein he simply dragged KRS, asked if WS resembled this face, and then put him back.
Meanwhile Cale trusts and supports Alver no matter what (refer to all the different ones he met during the stages of the Sealed Godās Temple Test). He isnāt hindered by thinking itās just an illusionary Alver⦠he continues to be sincere. It isnāt something so basic like āIāll help you when youāre in trouble,ā but ratherāāI wholly believe in all versions of you. I hope that youāll be able to stand confidently in front of the world as yourself.ā (because itās youā¦)See; indignity test aaghhhhh.
Cale hates when people sacrifice themselves. He hates when they push themselves too hard, especially for him.
Because thatās what happened with Lee Soo Hyuk and Choi Jung Soo, isnāt it?
Cale was supposed to die. They sacrificed themselves for him, and he lived, and now he gets visibly upset when people try to do things that are similar.
What does he think about when he sees people work themselves till they faint? Itās stupid. Not just because itās not healthy, but because itās sacrificial. He hates martyrs. He hates it when theyāre his friends.
Cale has a weird complex, right? Sacrificing himself left and right, fainting, but not allowing anyone else to do the same? Hypocrite, right?
(Chapter 695)
This is weird, isnāt it? This complete lack of awareness is concerning! Itās almost as if heās oblivious to the fact that he does the same thing all of the time!
To everyone else, yes, this situation with the crown Prince fainting after using all of his mana is a perfect parallel to Cale using his ancient powers too much and going into a coma.
But Cale doesnāt see his actions in the same light! He really isnāt trying to sacrifice himself 90% of the time! The collateral damage (fainting, bleeding, pain) is usually not part of his prediction, and if it is, itās more than he expected.
His intentions and thoughts are always about keeping his friends safe, and heās okay with coughing up a bit of blood to do that! Just a bit, maybe enough that it will look scary but it wonāt hurt him in the long run and thatās okay.
If he faints? It wasnāt planned, so itās not really sacrifice. Maybe a little but heās selfish enough already, itās the least he can do, honestly.
When Cale puts himself in danger itās for selfish reasons. Self-declared selfishness, but thatās how he sees it.
Cale doesnāt sacrifice himself. Everything he does is because he chose to! He chose to. If it doesnāt hurt too bad, he doesnāt consider it as doing much at all. The level of pain he experiences in every situation is his way of determining how much heās āaccomplished against his willā (sacrificed).
Not only that but there are circumstances he must be in to even consider it of consequence to other people. If it doesnāt happen while someoneās in danger, it doesnāt really matter, does it? He doesnāt understand why someone would be asking about his well-being. He doesnāt plan to let anything that happens affect his plans, so thereās no reason for them to worry.
If heās not on a battlefield, all of the effort he puts in?
(ancient powers) (strengthening his friends) (being in pain and pushing through it) (planning and strategizing) (so, so much more)
It doesnāt count. He is familiar with meticulously and extensively optimizing his time, because as KRS, monsters attack indiscriminately. Being prepared and working hard to be strong is nothing when compared to the battle soon to come, therefore, it doesnāt count as āwork.ā Itās what is expected. It is the basic standard for what is required to survive.
Where everyone sees Cale working nonstop for weeks and months and years, itās a normal weekend for him. Those days outside of battle donāt count. He worked like that for 15 years, so much stress is easy for him.
But- why doesnāt he recognize that he pushes himself until he faints? Thereās a threshold that he passes where he faints, but he still keeps crossing it?
Well, because heās the protagonist and- often, our only source of information for what happens in this world- narratively, he tends to stay awake and only faints when the battle is coming to a close, or has just closed. If the battle ends, his presence isnāt of vital importance, so itās fine if he was unconscious for a little bit. Other times itās involuntary and a result of his bodyās terrible condition or outside forces.
He doesnāt recognize his fainting as sacrificial because as long as the battle ends on a good note and heās still able to think and plan relatively soon after he wakes up, he hasnāt sacrificed much other than time. He also has Vitality of the Heart, which lets him feel rejuvenated after a ānap.ā
You see, Cale Henituse is interesting. He doesnāt know how to distinguish being selfish and selfless because being selfless is, in itself, an act of selfishness. When Cale (from the perspective of his friends) ruins his health and runs from battle to battle without resting or thinking about his friends concernā itās pretty selfish of him.
While everyone else considers him selfless, he thinks of himself as doing the āobviousā amount of work and being selfish too. That much work is expected of him, so it isnāt selfless. Itās all for his own gain, because when everything is over, heāll be the one going away to slack off in a forest. Ha!Heās seven steps ahead of everyone (and on the verge of collapse).
How trashy.
So to answer the question? Cale doesnāt notice his own sacrifices because he feels that:
1) his intentions remain solely selfish, so fainting and coughing up blood is just something he needs to do to get closer towards his goal.
2) anything that occurs outside of battle does not count as sacrifice because it does not affect how his plans will pan out, and everything he does is just a normal amount of work for him.
3) fainting is not on his list of to-dos, it happens without his consent- constantly- and it is very annoying because itās an unpredictable variable, but thankfully it happens when the battle is almost over/already over so itās not really fainting. Itās like taking a nap! Involuntarily, but at least itās sort of convenient.
4) being overly selfless is selfish, and selfish = bad, so Cale is a Bad Person and Complete Trash. Look at Cale, selfishly wanting his friends and his homeland to be safe so that he can retire. Bastard!
So, turns out his inability to realize the irony of his statements is because of the traumatizing 16 years of mental conditioning where pushing himself over the edge is normal and expected, spurred on by his socially isolated past that led to a lack of empathy and emotional awareness, and his two closest friends sacrificing themselves for him after his ability couldnāt predict the situation accurately enough.
Wow, it was the trauma all alongā¦

Chapter 258 ^
Chapter 259 ^
Chapter 303 ^ļæ¼
Chapter 420 ^
Chapter 560 ^
Chapter 584 ^
Chapter 656 ^
After the last chapter I have to say this. From the beginning of part 2, Cale should have sat down and seriously thought about what he was trying to do. First red flag, getting divine artifact from GoD, which allows you to travel between worlds. You have a diary that talks about variables. Did you forget what it said?! There's a reason why single lifers or Immortals are sent. Let me remind you, you're human, there will be consequences.
The second red flag, taking the temple of the God you have sealed. It's a really great idea to have temples for the future.
Another red flag is conversations with Gods. No one normally has a conversation where they see the appearance of a God, and you've met 4 Gods plus you saw God of Protection from the distance. On top of that you have normal conversations, behaving disrespectfully towards them. In addition, one of the Gods asked him if he wanted to become a God himself, another demanded that he become one, and another warned him of the possibility that Cale would replace him.
And another flag is the fact that two of the previous owners of the ancient powers are Gods. Additionally, his Dominating Aura can even rival God, and he has said more than once that his aura is equal to God. Later, DA even managed to copy the power of an ancient God. While we're on the subject of Dominating Aura, it's worth mentioning another crazy power, Sky Eating Water. During the fight with the dragon, SEW decided to imitate the chains that God Of War put on her. While they were helping the World Tree, the Sky Eating Water destroyed the chains that were created by God. Later, DA and SEW worked together to absorb the power of the Saint of the God of Chaos. On top of that, all your powers want to fight the Gods!
Another red flag, Cale officially has a Church and probably with a large numer of the followers, since they used old temples that worshipped dragons.
Another flag, talking about divine artifact like it's no big deal, even mentioning creating your own divine artifact.
Another flag is a conversation between him and Aurora, where she mentioned a way to become a God. He should realize how many criteria he meets.
Another flag, Cale wants to gain all the abilities from the scrolls, power belonging to a God, powers even a Saint doesn't have.
And what did he decide to do now?! Visit the Demon Realm, along with Clopeh dressed in a priest outfit. Create a festival and use the power belonging to the God of Chaos to save Choi Jung Gun.
How many more red flags do you need before you realize it's too late?!
I love how Cale casually steals a power of one of the Ancient Gods and conducts a divine purification ritual like WITH CLOPEH LITERALLY DRESSED UP AS HIS PRIEST BESIDE HIM and this dumb mf still thinks he's going to be able to hide all of this and peacefully retire after they finish dealing with the Hunters
Like, Cale. Honey. You are so. So dumb.
Spoiler alert!
TCF Part 2 Chapter 419
The God of Death looked at Cale. "The reason I called you here is to tell you about the First Wanderer. You're not interested in hearing about the affairs of the gods anyway, right?" "Yes. Correct." Cale genuinely had no intention or ability to get involved in the fight between the gods. 'I'll have to be crazy to fight a god, right?' In a fight between whales, the shrimp's back gets broken. "Hehehe. I knew it." The God of Death continued speaking, laughing as if he found it amusing.
š©š©š© Cale planted another flag. š¤£š¤£š¤£
Uh, Cale... Have you forgotten that DA wants to make the gods bow to him? Or that SEW wants to fight GoW? Or that you once "fought" the God of Despair by sealing him in GoD's book via Embrace? Yeah, good luck avoiding fighting a god. ššš
The crown hosts a ball. Of course all noble households in the Roan kingdom are present. Same goes for the Duke's House of Henituse as well.
Cale, who had separated himself from the rest of his family members to go to a corner and enjoy the desserts with the invisible Raon and had kept his Dominating Aura activated to keep the annoyances away, is approached by his youngest sibling.
Lily, being the brave knight she is, asks her eldest brother for a dance. Cale, who already feels guilty for being as absent from her life as he is and not being a proper older brother for her, accepts it for her sake. He needs to do at least this much for her as an older brother.
There is, however, one tiny problem.
Cale, no, Kim Roksoo doesn't know how to dance. The original Cale Henituse was so invested in his act of being a trash that he never bothered to learn it, so currently Cale had no muscle memory to rely on either.
Lily, who kind of predicted this when she approached him, ends up leading the dance. It's truly an unexpected sight to see Cale Henituse dancing a waltz in the middle of the ballroom. The Commander, who was often seen bleeding out on the battlefield as he fought in the forefront, elegantly moving his body to the flow of the music was truly captivating.
Basen Henituse has never been so jealous of his little sister seven years his junior. Neither has he ever felt so remorseful of being born a man. He wishes he could share a waltz with his elder brother too.
Cale, the magnanimous brother as he is, readily agrees to dance with him. When they're off the floor, Basen makes a victory fist as soon as nobody is watching.
Duchess Violan hesitates at first. But then she decides she should join in on the fun too. Thus, for the first time ever, she shares a waltz with her step son. Something she only used to do with her husband and son, Basen, in the past. She never expected there would come a day when it would be possible for her to dance with Cale. However, as it seemed, today was the day.
Deruth is much too overwhelmed at being reminded of Jour to ask Cale for a dance. He's just happy watching the others enjoy themselves.
The thing that Lily started, what was continued by Basen and Violan, naturally everyone wanted to be a part of it. Not everyone was lucky enough though. Cale accepted their requests for a dance because they were his family. As for the rest of the people present in this ballroom? He could care less.
He does end up sharing a dance with Amiru Ubarr and Rosalyn though, people who were good at leading the dance for the inexperienced him.
Once he returns from the ball, the children demand he dance with them. Raon, who watched his dance at the ball, tries to imitate his partners leading Cale through the dance. On and Hong are quick to learn as they watch before each following suit one after another.
It was the night the Black Castle shone the brightest and illuminated the Forest of Darkness to the point the name had never felt less fitting as it did that day.
Bonus:
Taking a leaf out of Basen's book, Alberu asks his precious dongsaeng for a dance. Cale is disgusted and flabbergasted but also plays along.
"dongsaeng, are you purposefully trying to step on my feet?"
"hyung-nim must know I never learned to dance, so it's expected."
"you didn't step on anyone else's feet though?"
"maybe they were just better at leading the dance than you are."
Alberu, baffled, "cheeky brat."
"the brat is older than yourself, hyung-nim."
"ha!" Alberu is in disbelief. "Well, i guess I should assign a dance instructor to my beloved dongsaeng then."
The dance ends and Cale whispers to him before walking away "sure. Send him to the Black Castle." Knowing it's near impossible for anyone to withstand the presence of the individuals residing there.
The next day, Tasha is at the Black Castle.
"My nephew asked me to teach the young master how to waltz. I was the one to teach that boy, so you can rest assured!"
Cale feels like he lost for the first time in a while.
