my wasalina headcanons 🩵💜

waluigi is the first to flirt with rosalina, though his “flirting” is just superficial (he does that with any attractive woman he meets, mostly daisy) and not actual love until later

they both bond and become close friends over the fact that they’ve been lonely, rosalina for having spent centuries of her life alone among the stars and waluigi always being underestimated/treated as a joke by everyone :( rosa is the only one that doesn’t treat him as such (besides wario) and genuinely supports & believes in him even though he always loses at all the sports, kart races, and party games…

in turn waluigi is…surprisingly supportive emotionally of rosalina when she opens up to him about her past and how much she misses her human family :(

rosalina in my headcanon is demisexual & demiromantic pan so it takes a while for her to fall for him and truly open her heart to him, but when she does realize she’s in love with him she falls hard

she has never experienced romantic love Ever in her life before so she thinks how she feels about/acts towards him is just because of how close she and waluigi are as friends but then peach and daisy (who have also become her close friends) make her realize she doesn’t feel that way with them or the mario bros, this is something she feels just with waluigi

it takes a while for waluigi to realize how he feels for rosa is not just a mere crush/“i find her physically attractive”…having been rejected by daisy and other women many times, he thinks rosa doesn’t actually like him back so he never goes farther with her than flirting

rosalina actually initiates their first kiss and says “i love you” first and that’s when he realizes that she feels the same way :o

he knows he’s conventionally not “attractive” physically so he’s??? surprised that rosalina actually is into a guy like him?? rosalina however isn’t one to be attracted to someone because of looks though, she falls in love more with the person’s character

i feel like for dates they’d spend a lot of time walking along the beach in the evening, waluigi just adores how the sea breeze blows through rosalina’s hair <3 and how her against the golden backdrop of the sunset makes her look even more ethereal <3

in general i think they’d like being out in nature together or watching the stars!!

waluigi is A LOT more into the pda but rosa isn’t opposed to being physically affectionate with him either wherever they are c: i feel like she can be quite physically clingy to him, i imagine she loves to cuddle with him c:

waluigi is super into grand romantic gestures of love (he would 100% do an over the top marriage proposal for example — expensive dinner, singing a love song he wrote for her, etc etc), while rosalina is more into small but very meaningful gifts & gestures

the lumas adopt waluigi as their papa the moment rosalina takes him to the comet observatory, they find him funny and at first he’s a little annoyed by them but he grows to love them almost as much as rosalina does!!

Friendly reminder that Rosalina is canonically 7’3” and Waluigi is 7’7”

Love the stupid shoving match between Luigi and Waluigi in the intro to Mario Golf : Super Rush.

I enjoy seeing Luigi and Waluigi fighting dirty literally right out of the gate. Love the idea that those two have had the most childish vitriol between them since the moment Waluigi first stepped foot onto a sports arena.

But it's also interesting to note the differences in how they slam into each other.

Waluigi– the instigator– is far more aggressive, using his elbow as a battering ram to cause as much pain as possible.

Luigi has a microsecond of being off balance, but he never loses his stride. There is no anxious pause or even stunned surprise, he immediately comes in with retaliation. However, being smaller, he braces his hands against Waluigi's center of gravity and shoves with his arms while throwing his body weight in a gesture that is less "I want to leave bruises," and more "I want you as far away from me as possible, and if that means knocking you down in the process all the better." Very nice bit of subtle animation.
