As a fanfiction writer, some of my friends always ask me why the stories I dedicate any amount of effort into are the gender bent ones where the male protagonist turns into a female. Is it because I do not want to ship two guys together so one of them has to be female? Absolutely not. I just think that it would be interested in how the story progression would look with a girl.

I feel like as a fandom we're making Percy's entire personality about the 5 moments where he lost his shit and went berserk. like guys. he's not like that 90% of the time. he's gentle. he's kind. he'd rather die and have his friends sold to titans than to hurt someone weaker/innocent. he'd chose befriending a stinky homeless guy over being the popular kid. he hugs his friends and lets them cry their eyes out on his shoulder. he'd put his life on the line to save a innocent sea creature. come on. stop making Percy a one dimensional terrifying killing machine!!! Lmao. Imagine if he was the original Rumpelstiltskin. His name isn't actually Rumpelstiltskin, but the person trying to guess his name got so frustrated by the end of it that they made up a fairy tale about guessing his name correctly. They named his character 'Rumpelstiltskin' just to mess with him. A sort of 'You tell me your real name and I'll change it in the book.'
