Imagine this: you turn on the very first episode of the PJO series and a boy is seen running in the dark, a zoomed in shot to his feet pounding against the dirt and the camera slowly pans up to his desperate face, and a voiceover begins: “Look, I didn’t want to be a half blood. If you’re watching this because you think you might be one, my advice is: turn off the TV.” The theme song plays, clips of the main cast play, you’re literally watching your childhood come to life. All is well.
“I wrap my arms around his neck, feel his arms hesitate before they embrace me. Not as steady as they once were, but still warm and strong. A thousand moments surge through me. All the times these arms were my only refuge from the world.”
The thing about all the loss Thor has endured, while in itself is excruciating, is that it all happened so violently, apart from Odin. His mother was run through with a sword, his friends were killed by Hela, his hammer was shattered into pieces, his eye was ripped out, his home utterly destroyed, his people slaughtered in front of him, and he had to watch, helpless, as both Heimdall and Loki were ruthlessly murdered by Thanos. Even his hair was taken by force. But he still shows up in Wakanda, badass and full of fury and armed with a new weapon he literally killed himself in order to make.
Whoever says Thor isn’t the strongest avenger is a fucking liar.
Trust no one
Hey! Do you guys remember the voltron moms post? So, I decided to make the similar fanarts but with the marvel dads this time, cause they really deserve it, don’t they? (not you, Thanos (I just really wanted to draw little Gamora))
My favorite Ragnarok headcanon is that the entire movie is a story Thor is telling the audience. That’s why it opens with a monologue, that’s also the reason of the sudden tone shift into comedy and that’s why despite all the horrible things that happen, it’s so endlessly optimistic. The real events that transpired were probably very similar, just much, much darker.
The memories swirl as I try to sort out what is true and what is false. What series of events led me to be standing in the ruins of my city?
