hysterical: stanley uses ASL and is actively trying to communicate with the narrator, who does not understand him because he only recognizes BSL

18 months of state-mandated conversion therapy
have zero mental health conditions, most specifically anxiety, depression, or autism
require tests for “social contagion” for 15 years after beginning care
