hi this is literally my first post but I just needed to shout this out into the void that is tumblr
I'm watching JFA for the first time (new to the fandom but already obsessed with narumitsu/wrightworth) and I feel like I haven't come across someone drawing this parallel???
Edgeworth: The sight of that man still shines brilliantly in my eyes...
Pearl [speaking about the romantic relationship she perceives between Phoenix and Maya]: That earnest look shining brightly in in your eyes... It must be true love...
I realize the wording isn't exactly the same but brilliantly and brightly are literally synonyms
and Pearl is a small child so it makes sense that she would use a simpler word
And while Phoenix is obviously not in love with Maya, from a writers POV it seems we are meant to understand that the look of something "shining brilliantly/brightly in the eyes" is an outward indicator of true love...
Ergo would this parallel not seem to suggest that when Edgeworth is thinking about Phoenix his feelings are those of "true love"???
