Introduction
Hello.
This is my blog. My name is Adam Raki. I live in New York City, but I prefer looking at things that are very far away, like galaxies and nebulae.
I am an electrical engineer, but I am currently between jobs. I know a lot about space, physics, and astronomy. If you ask me something, I will answer it as accurately as possible!. If you are imprecise, I may ask you to clarify.
The parallax shift is how the position of a star appears to change when viewed from different locations. It is not actually moving, but perspective makes it seem that way. That is how I got the name.
I do not know exactly what people post on blogs, but I will post things about space. If I like something, I might reblog it. I do not always understand jokes, but if you tell me it is a joke, I will try to understand.
Topics I will post about:
• Astronomy
• Space exploration
• Interesting facts
• Possibly answering Questions
OOC:
Hey ! I’m Tej (he/him) and I made this as an rp account for Adam because I adore him. Feel free to interact no matter who you are , just be respectful :) you can always send OOC asks just make sure to mark them as such !
(I also just wanted to clarify that I am neurodivergent myself and I will do my absolute best not to make a mockery out of Adam’s character !)

Nothing feels real anymore.
EVERBODY always lies to me and I am stuck feeling like an idiot because I care about honesty. Why does nobody ever mean what they say? What even is the point in saying anything then?.
Hey Adam, I had a pretty good view last night! I was busy during sunset so I couldn't see the seven planets later, but I did see this at least.
You captured Orion’s Belt very clearly, with Alnitam, Alnilak, and Mintaka lined up in the center. Below them is Rigel, one of the brightest stars in the sky.
I also see a faint streak across the middle—possibly a satellite passing through while the picture was taken. And on the right, the Pleiades cluster is visible. It’s an open star cluster about 444 light-years away, meaning the light in your photo has been traveling since the early 1600s. By now, some of the stars you captured may not even exist anymore. Like Dr. Lecter told me ‘some of the stars that appear brightest to us have already died’.
Though, stars don’t ‘die’ the way we do.
They simply vanish.
Best of luck with the move, and don't forget to breathe!! I know moving can be enervating, and it's tempting to just shut everything off. I make that mistake sometimes, so you're not alone. You have a great group of friends, and you're a wonderful person, Adam! I hope you have a really good rest of your day. :)
This message reminded me of someone I know..
Although it’s not groundbreaking, you’re right—breathing is something I have to do more intentionally. Thank you for your words. I feel a lot warmer around my heart now, in the metaphorical sense.
I hope you have a nice day or night!, depending on where you live.
I think we should send Musk into space. One way trip. He's a genius, I'm sure he can find his way back if he wants to.
How are you by the way, Adam? I've been playing a lot of minecraft and I've been looking up at the pixelated stars a lot. They're pretty.

Despite this being an absolutely unrealistic idea I can‘t claim that I dislike fantasizing about it.
I am mildly melancholic at the moment, I have never played Minecraft but I don’t think their depiction of space is realistic in any way. Arguably that‘s not the point anyway.
Beth was over today. She took this picture while I was reading and said I should post it.
So I am.
@deerrdarling Abigail and I recently watched ‘Carol‘ together.
It was fun, I liked this dialogue from the movie a lot :
I don’t know what feelings it would stir in Will. I have never met him.
But if someone saw a younger version of themselves, would they recognize it as themselves..or as someone else entirely?
It's very weird, having a patient with the same face as my Will.
what’s your opinion on life in space? i personally believe that with so many planets its impossible not to have somehow have life, even if it’s just a single cell being

I really quite like the emoji you used!
Statistically, the probability of life existing elsewhere in the universe is high. There are billions of galaxies, each with billions of stars and potentially habitable planets. Even if the conditions for life are rare, the sheer number of possibilities makes it unlikely that Earth is the only place where life has developed. I don’t know if we’ll ever find it, but mathematically, it makes sense that it exists. As for my own opinion; I really hope we get to discover more about possible life in space soon! It is an unrealistic wish but I dream of it nonetheless.
