I just had a heartbreaking thought (a new headcanon)

You know how Askeladd just casually tells Bjorn to pop Thorfinn’s shoulder back into place when he lost to him in Gorm’s village, and Bjorn does it without hesitation, like he’s used to it. So what if Bjorn ALWAYS was the one to treat whatever wounds Thorfinn would get after a duel? (At least the kind of wounds that Thorfinn couldn’t fix by himself.)

And what if, after that last duel where he got beat up so bad, he walked around, his thoughts all blurring together, being totally out of it, and he wondered why Bjorn wasn’t coming to help him… forgetting that wasn’t around to do that anymore…
