I hate how Terfs main argument is that a man could be dressed as a girl is going to hurt them when there is literally nothing stopping a cis man from just walking into a girls bathroom. and god says i sent you a warning from the gynecologist, condoms, the morning after pill, and the option for an abortion. what are you doing here?

Absolutely the animation is 5 stars the characters are just 👌🏻 and how they portray everything is amazing

to my fellow fans of animation and film in general: please please please, see puss in boots: the last wish in theatres if you get the chance. i mean it. it has no right being as good as it is and i’m very sad that there’s so little talk about it here on tumblr. i enjoyed every single character; they all serve a narrative purpose and everyone’s arcs are meaningful, including the worst of the villains. the worldbuilding & how the narrative plays with classic fairytale lore is extremely fun — a loving callback to early shrek that still feels like its own thing. the character designs are excellent. the animation is spider-verse levels of insane, with several transitionary moments that had my jaw on the floor. the music is beautiful. i was shocked by how just how dark the movie was willing to get at times, too; dealing with themes like death, mortality, animal / child abuse, commitment issues, and toxic masculinity. there’s a depiction of a panic attack that hit so close to home for me i was almost in tears, especially how they chose to resolve it. it was very touching and true to real life, which isn’t something you’d expect from a fantastical cartoon.

in an industry that’s being dominated by disney, we need to support films like this now more than ever or we’re not going to have many more of them. give it a shot if you can — i promise you won’t regret it.

You live in the same house your whole childhood, grow up with the same group of people that followed you through one (1) elementary school, middle school and high school and have a child hood best friend??? I love this scene because it is just the rich kids being like “I have this very sophisticated snack” that like idk a nanny probably packed for them or whatever. And then you have have Anya who gets two bags of her favorite food from her her loving parents that she gets genuinely excited about.

I don’t care what you say, comedy peaked with The Animaniacs and Phineas and Ferb. Tell me a show that incorporated humor that was both juvenile and that could amuse adults. I’ll wait.

You know what sucks? I used to be an AVID reader, I’d finish like two books in 5 days. Then reading started to be required for my grade and I lost so much motivation to read. The teacher would constantly make jokes about how our generation ‘shouldn’t be on the internet so much and pick up a book.’ I still hate her right now.

Does anyone have any tips on how to break that habit? I don’t just mean book recs, but just general tips on how to help my behavior?

This is so sad! This is such a common thing with so many animals and it’s horrible that people treat animals this way

Little sad rant about birds

I visited a bird sanctuary-ish place a few days ago and I cannot stop thinking about the two cockatoos that were there. They both looked a little old and especially sad. Above them, there was this big sign that said "CAREFUL THEY PECK" but all I got from them was signs of appreciation.

I stood there petting both animals for as long as possible. As soon as I stopped to rest my wrist, they screamed happily and then popped again their heads through the cage to be petted again. It really broke my heart to see how needy they were for love... I would've taken them home if I didn't happen to live on the opposite side of the country.

Both of them —and 90% of the animals there— were once pets that have been abandoned or taken away from their malicious owners. Please, don't buy birds (or any kind of animal at all), adopt them. And, if you adopt a bird, please make sure to know what you're stepping into: birds need a lot of care and attention —they are not at all easy pets— and live long lives.

Be mindful when adopting any kind of animal. They're living beings too, and deserve to be treated with love and respect.
