I'd rather be weird and happy than normal and miserable.

books i read in 2022: i kissed shara wheeler by casey mcquiston
Competition is why she can’t stop poking around the place where Shara is supposed to be. As long as they’ve both been at Willowgrove, Chloe finally had someone to fight for dominance, and that gave some kind of reason to her life. It’s not like Shara is that important; it’s just that, without her, Chloe’s not sure what the point of anything is.
rupikaur_ ♥️🙏🏽 so many of you have asked what you can do to support the #farmersprotest : slide through for info or read below 👇🏽 1) post on social media to raise awareness. i know this seems small. but it creates a ripple effect that will save lives. i’ve been advised by many human rights organizations that raising awareness on social media is the most effective tactic when dealing with the indian government. they are highly sensitive to international attention- so let’s give it to them. 2) put pressure on your local politicians and those with influence. put pressure on the media. ask them to speak up and bring attention to india’s human rights abuses. when freedom of press is attacked- democracy dies. every statement from officials around the world puts pressure on the indian government to take accountability for their human rights abuses. 3) if you’re interested in donating- @khalsa_aid is a great international humanitarian organization who is helping providing resources to farmers on the ground. thank you for your endless support family- i love you all ♥️ your thoughtfulness and desire to change the world is forever inspiring our people started protesting in punjab as early as july 2020. they marched to delhi on nov 27 and have been sleeping on the streets since. punjab- haryana- up- rajasthan. and beyond. the people are united across religion and geography. singing songs of freedom. our people feeding the masses. our people dying. activists abducted. journalists kidnapped. the government is currently building walls of cement and spikes around protest sites to cage people in. they try to defame our heroes. they sexually assault women in police custody. but truth will prevail. all of you. all of us. the diaspora marched and continues to give its heart out. onward. louder. stronger my friends. it’s working ✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽#farmersprotest p.s. i can hear modi crying while throwing a temper tantrum 😆 music to my ears !!! “I didn’t fall for Iris like a ton of bricks. I fell like I was a star and she was the end of the world. A cataclysmic crash of two people, never to be the same.”
The Girls I’ve Been, by Tess Sharpe
Adulting to me involves the stuffy things I have to do to survive. Usually, somehow forcing myself to be a good little human by skirting around the outer edges of society.
This world forces people to suffer hours every day just so they can eat and live under a warm roof. What kind of world is this? Why isn’t food and safety a right? Why are people struggling with more than one job just to feed their children? This is a broken world.
So I have to pretend to be like the rest of the poor souls and adult my way through life. Push myself in ways I haven’t before. Pay a bill for something that makes no sense to me. Don’t even get me started on taxes. Why am I working just so some invisible entity can steal it all away?
Is that being an adult? Or a blind pushover?
“Adulting” only reminds me of what I dislike about this planet. There is so much more to living than being forced to sit in front of blinding screens and working our fingers raw for a mere nickel that will only be stolen away in the end.
I want people to see how beautiful life can be. That the pressures we face daily aren’t what being alive is about. Life is about expanding our minds and entwining our hearts with those we love. Everything else is an unnecessary burden to bury in an empty field, then covered over in blue wildflowers.
Forget this adulting business. It isn’t being an adult to take on these responsibilities. It just means a person is old enough to officially take on roles we’ve been trained for since we first stepped foot into school as children. All those long years of brainwashing just for these happy moments of being an adult. I’m not particularly proud of what humanity is doing to itself. *sighs and wanders off*
Does it even exist at all? Or is it another dream?
