He's the creature that lurks in the vents and the one who's gobbling up all your trash... Ennard.
Born from the disheveled endoskeletons of the Funtime animatronics, Ennard made an oath to himself that he would never harm a single kid ever again, fighting back against his malicious programming. Don't let his monstrous appearance scare you; he's actually very friendly. It's just that years of having to kill kids as four separate robots and living in the shadows has worn him down. Living in an alleyway along with his best friends, Ennard is usually found crawling through the vents and looking for trash (food - they have poor standards), or going out on the town, hiding his identity behind a large cloak. And if you dare ask him about his mechanical limbs, expect his answer to be a cold, raspy "It's a costume."
Pros:
Voice imitation: As you may already know, he's a giant fusion of all the Funtime animatronics, which makes changing voices on the fly very easy. He can go from his normal raspy tone to the elegant French accent of Ballora, the loud-mouthed Funtime Freddy, or the soft-spoken politeness of Circus Baby (his step-sister, I suppose).
Prehensile tentacles: Those four tentacles on his back are often used as extra hands. Unfortunately, these are only handy (pun not intended) in the alleyway where he lives; out on the streets, they're constricted to his back to avoid scaring people.
Multiple eyes: Ennard only has one eye in one of his sockets, which is Baby's. The other four (Ballora, Foxy, Freddy, and Bon Bon) are all held up by his tentacles, which serve as back-ups in case his main eye gets blinded. Oh yeah, and each of them are sentient, and they move on their own accord.
Agility: You wouldn't expect it from the guy with a limp, but he's surprisingly nimble when sneaking through the vents. It's one of the reasons why he's so stealthy when harvesting trash/food for his friends.
Persuasiveness: Ennard's a pretty soft-spoken, reasonable guy. He'll actually help when he has a good reason to, and even though he sounds like he's trying to take control of the conversation, he's really just trying to lay down an argument on top of you.
Omnivorous: Being made of metal, Ennard can eat both solid food and trash. He usually goes for trash, as it feels better than real dishes.
Cons:
Control freak: Ennard really likes the feeling of control and always seizes the opportunity to take the lead and guide his friends, even when they clearly can do it themselves.
Emotionally drained: Originally being four murder-programmed animatronics can be pretty bad for your emotional state. Ennard keeps a savvy, stoic and calm tone 90% of the time, usually responding to the crap that happens to him with an annoyed sigh. Ex: Scrap Baby and Molten Freddy have made out behind the dumpster at least ten times now, and he's just sick of it. Even calling him spaghetti will do nothing but force him to give you a kick for your troubles.
Terrifying: At least, unintentionally. At 5.6ft tall, Ennard has a bad reputation in the outside world for being a creepy, clown-like monster with a disturbing voice, a wired body, and an unnerving limping walk.
Lonely: Aside from Scrap Baby and Molten Freddy, all Ennard really wants to do is to have a real human friend. He just finds the concept hard to understand, as the only real human he had a connection with was Michael Afton. But even then, it was part of his plan to escape Circus Baby's Entertainment and Rental.
Looking through the art you made of my fanchildren (which I will be forever thankful for) i couldn't help but notice that the individual art for Sectrina has her full name as "Sectrina J Partizanne"
I think i know what the "J" stands for, but i need confirmation. So i can make it official.
Alright, dude, the J stands for...
Jérôme. Sectrina Jérôme Partizanne.
I know, I know, it feels super weird, but to be fair, it's kinda the closest thing I have to being a stand-in for Joronia without it actually BEING Joronia. Plus, the way it's spelled is almost exactly the same in French, so I thought it'd be cool to have that be her middle name. I might give some of the other fanchildren some middle names as well :)
Now in a loving marriage with the cat-like mage who (accidentally) saved her from the afterlife, Drawcia was initially worried about how she would fit in with Magolor and his technology. She and her sisters have lived a quiet life up in Seventopia, where their home in Purple Fortress had very little tech to speak of outside the castle they took residence in. She was even a little worried about leaving her sisters to fend for themselves at ages younger than hers! Would she even survive down there?
Well, to make a long story short, she did. Moving into the Lor Starcutter not only allowed her to be closer to her friends on Popstar, but also allowed her to have a purpose other than making art to entertain herself and others: becoming a shareholder of Merry Magoland. Now working at Magoland, Drawcia works as a caricature artist for people who come to her stand, and she will even do commission art if someone pays her for the low-low price of $35.
Plus, the two sometimes do it at Magoland after hours. (DW, they clean up the aftermath before the park opens.)
That... intercourse has incidentally led to Drawcia somehow getting pregnant! And with a good nine months, Drawcia was successfully able to give birth to a happy baby boy whom she and Magolor named Brushle. And then they didn't stop doing it and two years later they had another kid, Loraine, named after the ship they now piloted.
Now a family of four, the Whiskertons are continuing to do what they do best: draw and laugh together, no matter the hardships.
Happy 20th anniversary to Kirby Canvas Curse!
For Drawcia's next gen look, I struggled for inspiration. For reference, the original concept had some slight changes to what I would eventually make. For starters, since this Drawcia design has a second main eye, I wanted to try and make it prominent in the appearance by making her look like she got a bit of a haircut to show off her right eye. In the end, I just decided to keep her fringe and have the right eye somewhat exposed to some end.
Plus, Drawcia's scarf was meant to be longer and have a different pattern on it, but in the end I just decided to keep it as is, but a bit bigger. Additionally, the "sashes" on her cape were meant to have more of a gear motif to reflect her being part of the Whiskerton family, but I decided to change it to something resembling the frame of the portraits Drawcia creates and relegate the gear motif to something else.
Also, the hands were meant to be part of the final drawing, but I decided to hold them back. At least for now.
Also I found today also marked 25 years since Kirby 64 originally released in Japan, which is absolutely frustrating, so now I gotta draw Ribbon's next gen design after today! And Forgotten Land is turning three years old tomorrow!
