so what if there was an Undertale afterlife until the human resets?? i saw this idea on Pinterest awhile ago in a white limbo and everything and scurried away with it

i completely forgot that sans coughs up blood or whatever when he dies for the first two scenes so uh. just know that his silhouette at the end is NOT slobbering and is in fact bleeding in no longer excruciating pain.

anyways i thought that the two popular verses in “birds of a feather” fit papyrus and sans so well because they almost perfectly encapsulate their personalities and perspectives on life. papyrus is completely unwavering in his loyalty and love for the people around him, especially his brother. he occasionally doesn’t think things all the way through before doing or saying things - something like “i love you till the day that i die” even though they are both already dead. he feels emotions intensely, and though the phrase is usually used as an exaggeration, he really does love his brother to death. “‘till the light leaves my eyes” - he is not only dramatic in this line, but also emotionally intelligent. he is often feelings over logistics, so i believe that he would know just how deep the impact of his death will be on others. sans has very composed mannerisms and an almost nihilistic view of sorts. he’s kinda got that go with the flow vibe. “i said i’d never think i wasn’t better alone.” - secrets galore; this man probably does most of his objectives alone with the amount of secrets he keeps from everyone, even his own brother. the actual meaning of the line shows my interpretation of his hesitance and dislike for his little self-imposed loneliness. “can’t change the weather, might not be forever” - he knows that things can’t stay so blissful for eternity. he’s (almost) okay with that. “but if it’s forever, it’s even better” - i feel he would like it to last, though.

basically my perspective is that they love each other very very much and no one can convince me otherwise

also uhhh i cannot for the life of me draw sans consistently, so i apologize if he’s a little funky in some frames 😓

the parallels between sans, papyrus, and flowey/asriel are INSANE by the way

by the way, this animation/animatic was made under the assumption that sans does NOT remember resets, and only has knowledge of/is studying them.

both asriel and papyrus are often perceived as a child and look on the positive side of things with a sibling that hides many secrets. both sans and flowey are secretive, have some association with the resets, and are nihilistic in their own ways. someone else could probably do a way better analysis, but i don’t have the brain power right now 😭

some of these scenes are definitely more on the headcanon side. for example, sans meeting flowey in one of the timelines, and then getting stabbed with a vine is just a little bit of my imagination working. it explains a bit of why sans doesn’t exactly like flowey nor trust him, possibly due to having some kinda negative deja vu or getting a bad feeling about him. as a character, i wouldn’t say sans is the trusting type either, so he’d probably follow his instincts. papyrus, on the other hand, would most likely brush it off in hopes of making a new friend. (his loneliness needs to be studied by the way PLEASE 🙏) many parts of the video are supposed to imply that papyrus is stronger/knows more than he lets on, which is more of a theory than headcanon, but it’s there!!

entire idea based on this one post i saw of someone wanting flowey and papyrus to be put under this song because they thought it fit well, and i had an epiphany!!

you do not know how much i think about how almost none of the main characters we meet who interact with him tell the full truth to papyrus. OUAGH. i think it hurts a little more when coming from his own brother.

Y'know, I fully expected Sans to be unkillable in any route, so this really came as sort of a surprise??? When the cardboard Crossbones got slashed at the end of the Ruthless fight, I was like "heh, yeah, fully expected that" until you meet Papyrus on the bridge and realize that, actually, Sans is really really gone???

And this is a shot-out to Sans' Neutral Evacuation battle where Sans gets us accounted with, ahem, "just a little guy, a little man" (translation: very ugly cardboard crossbones) an he starts talking about what would happen if that little man fell down? Since he was talking past tense, I thought Sans was exclusively talking about Crossbones: after all, in the neutral evacuation run, Crossbones is gone and only Sans remains. But isn't he actually warning us? Sans doesn't pull out the "pitch-black eyes" schtick during the neutral evacuation battle except during that line of dialogue, which is pretty good indication that he's threatening us: ("spreading words of your deeds, and making sure nobody forgets about what you did.") (((also this rhymed I found it super cool)))

Plus ugly cardboard crossbones fell over in the Evacuation run the same way pretty cardboard crossbones falls over in Ruthless. The whole Neutral Evacuation run is more of a warning than anything else: Really hit me when I first played it, because in my mind Sans was risking his life and warning us about how we planned on making the fight end... I came to the evacuation Neutral fight with the intent to betray kill Sans, but actually the WHOLE THING was SO HEARTFELT I definetly couldn't have dealt the killing blow even if that had been an option. (In contrast, Ruthless's Sans fight is just as (if not more) frustrating than its undertale counterpart. Not only because we're "Getting tired of this" (only after the 300th try, in my case!!!) but also because Crossbones is absolutely right about our questionable motives and the fact there's a thousand things we could be doing right now that would be better than this. When it's time to choose fight or spare, we're just glad the fight is ending.)

To go back to the topic of the Evacuation Neutral, I always found it weird that there was an animation that showed the fallen cardboard becoming smaller and smaller. But if fallen cardboards is Sans' euphemism for death, then he's showing us what'll happen if we go past him without changing our ways. People around us are gonna fall over and decrease in number, until there's gonna be next to none of them left.

Also, Team Switch... ARE ALL RUTHLESS BOSSES GONNA BE AS HARD AS ASGORE AND SANS???? (I fully expect them to be harder and this S C A R E S me.) I died over 1000 times during that game already, and I'm not even exaggerating. Unfortunately. I sort of refused to touch the "decrease difficulty" button 'cause that wouldn't really be fair to the characters, but that doesn't change anything to the fact I suck at gaming. Just like crossbones so nicely pointed out during that famous race...

I rambled much longer than expected. Anyway, my idea for the drawing was that maybe the reason why Crossbones doesn't fight with his gadgets is because he forgot all of them (which, seeing the context, is understandable, even if using weird gadgets seems like a good way of stalling), and Papyrus, fully expecting to face the human with his aforementioned super-brother, stuffed all sorts of weird gadgets in his pockets in a hurry in case they ended up being of use.

Lore Re-evaluation

I can definitely be considered somehow new to the UT/DT fandom, which makes me lose so many fandom turning points and major events. This is kinda the reason why I really want a completely canon overview of the lore of these games since at this point, the details of the plot are a little all over the place. For example, the appearance of W.D Gaster and his entire personality is seemingly fan-made and only theorized/implied?? Chara + Frisk’s personality is actually almost completely up for fan interpretation (except for small, itty-bitty tidbits)?? The skelebros’ past and history is barely mentioned and is a complete mystery?? BY THE WAY, this is NOT a criticism towards the community!! In fact, I find how much gaps that the fandom has filled in the story extremely interesting. I don’t really know if any other community has done this, and it is very impressive to me how much impact it has made to newcomers’ perception of the games. Howeverrrr, I would love a video about the complete canon plot of Undertale and what we have so far with Deltarune that doesn’t include theories or any of the sort!! It should probably still contain an overview of the hidden files/secrets, but not make any assumptions.

CHAOS COURT OF ALL EVILS (i would love to see this done)

(Major spoilers for all Ace Attorney Games as well as Ghost Trick) I already posted something similar to this, but I’ve now played the Investigations collection and the Layton crossover, so I figured I might as well update it. Imagine a trial where “Calisto Yew" is the defence, with Kristoph Gavin as Co-council, facing off against Manfred von Karma as prosecutor, with the Phantom disguised as Daryan Crescend as the detective, Courtney Sithe as the coroner and Mael Stronghart as the judge. The defendant is Matt Engarde, accused of the attempted murder of William Shamspeare, who survived due to plot armor, with Cammy Meele, Luke Atmey, Ashley Graydon and Fifi Laguarde as witnesses. If it’s done TGAA style, then the Jurors would be Enoch Drebber, Nikolina Pavlova, Darklaw, Shelly de Killer via the radio, Roger Retinz, and Yomiel from Ghost Trick because why not. Now the culprit would turn out to actually be von Karma because of course it is, and since he got annoyed by Shamspeare, being well, Shamspeare.
