Did you guys notice how Jeff entered the shop already looking at Abed and immediately pulled a chair to sit next to him.
Did you guys notice how Abed wasn't surprised and started opening up.
Did you guys notice that both of them were shocked to see anybody else in the shop and how the others all had yogurt in their hands because that's what they came in for.
But Jeff came for Abed. Because he knows his comfort spaces and where he'd be to cool down. And the easiness they both fell into shows that they've done this multiple times.
As per my username, my favorite Community line ever is in the finale when Jeff says "I'm sort of a hero that way" because it's slightly cocky and perfectly Jeff; it's so simple yet SO impactful and ties the entire show so beautifully.
Jeff starts his life as a narcissist, thinking he's cool and powerful cuz he can fool the juridical system by faking his degree and getting away with it. It's what he tells his father about himself after decades of not seeing him because that's what Jeff deems to be the prideful accomplishment of his life.
But after 6 seasons, Jeff learns that being a hero is simply living everyday. It doesn't take big achievements, he doesn't need to dazzle anybody to feel seen. He doesn't need to write "You're special" on his bathroom mirror and stare at it until he believes it.
He's simply a hero for letting people into his life and learning how to love others. How to love himself. How to continue pushing forward in life.
And it's so simple. Because like Jeff said once, the truth isn't life-shattering. It's painfully obvious.
It's simply living life. And that makes his entire story so deeply relatable.
Because in the end, we're all like Greendale students. Sucky people working on ourselves to be less sucky.
Friends can't carry you, they are there to pick you up and support you but you need to walk your own path. This takes time and it never gets perfect, never gets predictable. But we can still be okay. Because we’re all afraid of the same thing. So none of us is ever actually alone.
Jeff realises that he does indeed have tools to face anything the future throws at him. It's a newly found confidence he can now use as his life ring buoy. He can slowly learn to trust himself and his own capacities again. Not be dependent on others.
Jeff is a hero for having gained those tools. For having worked so hard on himself.
And we're heroes for that too.
"They ruined Britta" by what, fleshing her out? I'm so sick of this take being used anytime Britta is shown as flawed. She's an activist because she's super opinionated and she stands up for what she believes in, and that's her strength as well as her biggest flaw because she also gets caught up in her own perception of the world and fails to factor in other people's thoughts and needs (like when she paid the deaf girl to spoil Abed his book). She gets caught up in her jokes, gets caught up in her need to "treat" her friends, gets caught up in proving she's right. And sometimes she's right and she succeeds, sometimes she takes it too far and hurts people. It's her coping mechanism after having had to run away and to prove herself to everyone. She wanted, no, needed, people to see her succeed so badly, she sometimes fell into self-centeredness, even when her intentions are never malign.
So no, she didn't necessarily get ruined, it always made sense for her arc and she's a much more relatable character that way.
i picture a sunny episode where charlie starts a janitors strike and its just him at paddys so the rest of the gang gets to act shitty at him which is always funny. that “awww did somebody get addicted to crack” energy
but it snowballs majorly and he gets other janitors to join
the scene i imagine is him giving a speech on behalf of the janitors that like. starts out with normal strike demands the others all agree with and they get into it all cheering. but as he keeps talking they all realize hes insane “and we janitors demand more cheese for our rat traps so we can have enough extra to snack on while we clean them out” “no longer will you feed your scraps to our yuck puddles they simply get too big and we have enough bones to clean up as it is. and besides we believe its more natural for a puddle to hunt on its own anyway” “the janitors of philadelphia will return to work once our bosses stop purposefully aiming badly at the urinals as revenge for kicking them in our sleep the night before or for taking too much of the blankets”
something. then they question hitching their wagon to him and probably somebody else takes over at that point lmaooo but him assuming normal janitors relate to his life. anyway i want charlie kelly 2 unionize the workers of the world and i want it to end with their demands being met especially the weird ones peace on earth. the rest of the gang 100% spend the episode in filth missing him and the work he does classic them
Suggestive fanart of Jeff/Abed ahead. Just a double precaution
Oof I'm being super careful with posting this here, it's my first time ever attempting such a theme but I'm so proud of it actually, idk what came over me lmaoo
So uhhh, Merry Christmas, here's porn 😭
Can't move on from how Abed keeps track of every classic winger comeback, they were both each other's biggest fan even for all the smallest things
The way at first they both idolized and worshipped each other until they learned that the other is just as scared as they are, and the worshipping turns to admiration and respect and understanding and true friendship
is it any wonder that everytime troy’s hurt, he calls out for abed? after all, abed’s the first one who looked at troy and said “i see your vulnerability and i love what i see.” abed’s the first one who said “i know you don’t want to be strong, and i know you don’t yet have the strength not to be.” and finally, abed’s the one who told troy “when you’re ready, let me be strong, let yourself be delicate, and you will see your beauty in us.”
other favorite actor joins the adhd squad !!
Another day, another time where I see an adhd post on my timeline and find out that the actor of my comfort character liked the post too 💕
Thinking about s2 ep3 where Jeff has his whole freak out over cholesterol and Duncan is the one to come up after class to him and check up on him.
"Mind if I ask what happened in class today?"
It's so simple but Duncan clearly noticed something was wrong and it shows how their friendship is genuine. I seriously wish we saw more of it because while horny loser Duncan is hilarious, he also deeply cares about his friends and can give genuinely good advice.
"While claiming to have no religion, you were actually devoutly worshipping yourself. And now that your God has high cholesterol, you're trying to kick Pierce's in the balls."
And it's so rare to see people worry about Jeff because he always convinces people that he's got it, so people brush it off. But Duncan has been a stable support for Jeff since the pilot when he cared enough to teach Jeff a lesson.
He sees through Jeff's bullshit but he also deeply respects him.
