How to throw a fancy dinner party in The Sims 3

You will need @flotheory's new dinner mod, download it here. Depending on what you want, choose either

Version 1: limited to 8 sims having dinner and sims will finish what they are doing before going to dinner -> best for family gameplay when you only want your active family to have dinner together

or Version 2: more than 8 sims can have dinner and sims will stop what they are doing and proceed to their chair once you direct them to do so -> best if you also want inactive sims as guests at your dinner party

Step 1: Assign each sim a chair

Click on the chair

Select "Join dinner…"

Select the sim you want to sit in this chair

Repeat for all chairs/sims.

Sims will now proceed to their respective chairs and sit down at the dinner table:

Step 2: Get them to eat dinner together

If you're doing this with more than one table, pause your game!

You will have to repeat these steps for each table! Do not switch to a different table before you have done them all!

Place the group meal in the middle of the table

Click on the group meal

Select "Serve for dinner…"

Click on the table

Select "Eat dinner together…"

Select the sims sitting at this table

Click OK

Without un-pausing the game proceed to the next table and repeat for every table.

Once all tables have been served their dinner and the sims have been directed to dine:

Press play and watch them all eat at the same time!

Additional tips:

I found it is best to place the group meals on the table after all sims have been seated. If you place them before, you run the risk of a hungry sim grabbing a plate and blocking one of the chairs.

Once all sims are seated at the dinner table you can leave them sitting and just chatting for a little bit, but don't wait too long or they will get up again.

If you want more than 8 sims to dine together, you will need either a custom table seating more than 8 sims (don't know if they even exist…?) or you will need to place several tables. If you want to push them together to make a bigger table, use the cheat "moveobjects on". Take care not to push the tables into each other, or sims may not have enough room to sit down. It's best to leave a small gap.

If you want several tables to eat the same food, either prepare the same group meal for each table or use icarus_allsorts mod "Cook with any ingredient" in order to make a group meal with up to 16 servings. When serving several tables from the same group meal you will have to move the group meal to the table you want to serve before repeating step 2!

It’s inspired by medieval Scandinavian landscapes, vikings, Norse mythology, and Skyrim. It’s a home neighborhood but created with the notion of using it as a travel destination or for story telling..

A lot of people are probably wondering what in the world is going on. Basically we celebrate midsummer by staying up late, song, lighting a huge fire with a witch on top… Just to scare off evil spirits, mind you, no actual witches were ever burned on Saint Hans. There’s so much intresting history to this holiday, but i’ll refrain :p

vendelavendelavendela recently posted a Swedish midsummer celebration in Enekjaer, and it was absolutely adorable. Made me want to do my own ;) … It also made me realize how completely different the two are :0

Boutique Mod - WIP

A peek at my latest project—my interpretation of the sims 2 shopping for clothes system, complete with animations I have pilfered and converted from TS4 and various concepts I nabbed from here and there.

I'm at the point of the project where I've forgotten why I originally wanted to make it but alas, the show must go on!

This mod is as much for the business side of running a clothes store as it is the customer side.

However, once you've set things up, the shop should be able to run itself in your absence (so you can be as micromanagy, or as non-micromanagy as you wish).

As well as buying outfits using clothes racks, I remixed the ITF Clothing Pedestal and made my own variation of that too. Plus, I added a way to buy accessories from their own rack, so you have multiple ways to dress your sims up.

While not pictured, @dhalsims kindly converted the ITF clothes rack so I could use it in this mod. One cool thing about the clothes racks is that they'll actually get emptier as the stock goes down!

The closer I get to release, the more ideas for additions I have, but I'm finally at the stage where I'm polishing up the existing features!

The next time I make a post about this mod, it'll probably be on release so please look forward to that! I have a lot of documentation to write :P

15th Century Lookbook, Part 1 of Many

Part of a posing dry run for a project for a certain someone. This is a superimposition of bowing poses on a hurdy-gurdy object, because I wanted to.

I then realized that fiddles are medieval on their own, but I had already set myself on the hurdy-gurdy, so...eh. I admit the erasing was not done well. My model also ought to be wearing a veil, or crispinettes, or something, but I liked the hair too much to do that.

These inaccuracies aside, I think it looks quite nice.

This mod is an update to their original mod! Since it’s no longer available on their website, I decided to fully integrate it into this mod.

What does that mean?

This mod includes VA’s Pose Addon, so you don’t need to download it separately. Just make sure to delete the old version to avoid any glitches or conflicts! 😊

Most things that are mine can be found under "Photo Shooting" > "Lyralei's Pose Addon".

👀Better Look at

Ever posed a sim to look at something next to them, but they do this weird "eye roll-y" and "nudging slightly to the left" type of look at?

Or maybe you simply wanted to make the eyes look somewhere and not the head?

Let's check it out:

Left = Va's Pose addon - Right = Lyralei's Pose Addon.

To get started, first pose your Sim as usual! Once they’re in position, simply click "Look At..." to make it work.

Look at with just the eyes:

As mentioned, you can also just move certain parts of the body! In this case, the eyes!

(Left: No Look At, Middle = Looking left, Right = Looking up)

This is done with something called a "Track Mask". When selected, the only parts of the sim will move that fit the chosen trackmask.

For example: Track Mask "EyesOnly" will ONLY animate the eyes!

Blending Poses

Can't find a pose online that fits your needs, but you do have 2 poses that would totally fix that?

Not a problem anymore! With "Pose Blending" you can use a pose "base" and then overlay another pose to create your own dynamic poses!

Here are some examples!

On both cases, we have the "base" pose on the left. Then I have chosen to blend it with the pose in the middle, to get this as an end result! :)

How to:

First, pose your sim as you normally would

Go to "Photo shooting..." > "Lyralei's Pose Addon..." > "Utils..." > "Blend" > Choose whichever option you'd like to use! :)

Pick the Track Mask you'd like to apply. If you only want the upperbody to be affected, click that option.

Click/type in the pose you want to blend it with....

And tada!

Sitting/Laying poses:

Even that's possible! :) Keep in mind, though: The base pose HAS to sit/lay/etc. Otherwise, your sim will elevate!

Categorised Pose List

Frustrated because every time you want to grab a pose from your list, it takes 3455325352 years for the list to load? Well, wait no more!

Completely customizable through XML, you can now sort poses in their own respective categories!

Need a sitting pose? no problem! Just go to Lyralei's Pose Addon > Take pose From... > Common List > Sitting, and there you have all your sitting poses! :)

Can I customise this list myself?

The Add-on remembers your pose history!

Whether you’re a dedicated “Pose by Name” user or prefer the simplicity of “Show by List”, both options now display your pose history for quick reference.

Note: Each Sim has their own individual history list. This means you’ll only see the pose history for Sim X when clicking on them, and not for Sim Y.

What did I fix for Virtual Artisan's Pose Addon?

I've made sure to keep everything as it used to (and if I made a replacement for it, it's now labeled with "[LEGACY]" at the beginning of the interaction).

But, of course there were some bugs that came with it.

Changelist:

There is now an interaction that uses both look at & reaction simultaneously. (In case you don't want to use my look at interaction).

Fixed an issue where reactions would sometimes or never show on the sim.

Fixed an issue where sims didn't always want to look at the item.

Fixed an issue where certain poses get called twice, making it harder to keep reactions or even look at history data.

Optimised the code here and there.

Most interactions will now continue on posing your sim if you exited out of the interaction, rather than resetting it. (this counts for "Change Expression" and "Look At").

Murf's Top 50 Mods - Part 3 (2020 - 2023 Edition)

I made a Top 50 list (Pt 1 and Pt2) back in 2016, talking about mods that I've used & love. But with all the goated content that the amazing TS3 community continues to churn out, I NEEDED to update my list! This one in no way diminishes or negates the other mods I've already listed--like, I shouldn't have to sit here and explain how NRAAS continues to carry TS3 on its freaking shoulders, ok. This is just MORE mods, the Top 50 most RECENT ones I've tried out since, like, quarantine.

I am a VERY niche simmer--I love fantasy gameplay, so my fave mods are the ones that not only offer general quality of life improvements, but also add new abilities and interactive objects inspired by different cultures, time periods, or genres. So y'all already KNOW which ones have earned my top spots. They're not based on which mods are "better," just which ones I personally have been using the most.

1: Smooth Patch, LazyDuchess

I've already gushed about this mod, but oh well. Like--I use an EFFTON of CC. My Live Mode gameplay itself doesn't tend to lag so much as my game's slow to LOAD, slow to save, CAS is a nightmare, I can do my taxes waiting for the Misc Decor section to open, etc etc. But the Smooth Patch loads everything so much quicker for me! 😭

One thing is that on the EA App version (curse you, EA) the Master Controller package didn't work on my end, so I took it out, but everything else has been great!

2: Search Mod, LazyDuchess

Speaking of the Misc Decor section -- HOW LONG did we ask EA for a Search function y'all? Only to be ignored. Then the second TS4 is released, it ain't got a effing thing in it, but it's got a Search function??? 🤔 ISTG it's like the simgurus were told to take all of the TS3 community's best suggestions, and poach them for TS4 (like vampire coffins--NO I'm not over it!). WHY do modders have to do your frikkin job for you, EA?! I call EA lazy all the time cuz EA you suck, so it's the most ironic thing ever that LazyDuchess is out here KILLING IT.

My ONLY "complaint" about the Search mod is the position of the icon. I use A LOT of Collection Files, and I noticed that the Search icon actually covers the Delete button when in the Collection viewer. So I can't delete items in collections with the Search icon in the way.

But this is a MINOR nitpick--I almost never delete items, it's just something I noticed is all.

3 - 8: OCCULT MODS: EVERYTHING by @puddingface1902

Y'all already know the Enhanced Witches mod is my favorite mod ever made. But PF1902 also made cool enhancements to the Fairies, Genies, Vampires, Werewolves, and Mermaids too! My sims are usually Nraas hybrids (e.g.: Sakura is a faery, witch & plantsim; Magnus Bane is a witch & genie; etc.), so it's FANTASTIC having so many new abilities for my magical occults. 😍

9 - 11: OCCULT MODS by xantak22

Even more occult mods at MTS are for enhanced Plantsims, Ghosts, and Mummies! I was dying for more Plantsim abilities, omg, they're my 3rd fave occult after Witches & Fae.

12: Sim Control Tools by Knight

Sooooo many quality of life mods have come out! ^0^

I've been ABUSING the Teleport To Me function, to quickly get sims off of lots & where I need them to be. It also lets sims unlock more Social/Romantic interactions. (Now all we need is a way to interact with sims from EA's useless thumbnails.)

13 - 18: @anitmb's mods

There are SOOOO many--most I've yet to even try. But so far newer ones I've been using are the Deck of Cards (FINALLY something other than EA's bulky AF poker table!), Farm Mod (look at all these CHICKENS!), and Hunting mod so my 8000 archer sims can actually hunt! (Ofc I've also used the Woodcutter and Anvil mods in my older gameplay posts, too.) And @mspoodle1's edit of the Cup of Tea mod is so pretty.

19: @mspoodle1's Poker table

Another excellent cards mod is this medieval style poker table I use a lot now, too.

20: @omedapixel's Wildflowers DR

I like EA's default wildflowers from SSNS, but Omeda's are just sooooo much nicer. (I haven't gotten around to trying out their Harvestable Plant DR yet.)

21: Swordfighting mod by CyrusBanefort

En garde! This mod is so freaking epic!

One thing I've noticed is that the game lags while it waits for the mod to boot up (a message has to first pop up saying it's running when you first launch your saves). But other than that this mod is excellent.

22 - 24: Yoga rugs

I've long been using the yoga rugs by Kitabalibar and the edited one from @mspoodle1. But now there's the newest one by @twinsimming, with brand new animations & features. The more the merrier I say, LOL. What's especially neat is the kids wobbling around as they try to do yoga! :3

25 - 30: TheSweetSimmer's mods--so cute! :3

Omg so frikkin many, I can't even catch up! The interactions are so freaking precious, like from the More Toddler Interactions (cuddle, look at, etc) & Biggest Little Mod (hug legs), I've never had so much fun playing with kids! <3 And I LOVE that they can Catch Butterflies and Pick Flowers--you'd think plantsim children would be able to do this by default, EA! Honestly, just grab everything by TSS, your kid sims will thank you!

31 - 33: @spheresims Medieval/Nature/Tribal mods

Y'all know I'm crazy about the Functional Fireplaces mod (the cauldrons, baby! 😈), but the One with Nature and Wildlife Hunting mods are great too, perfectly complimenting the off-the-grid realness.

34: @olomayasims/Cmomoney Smoking Mod Overhaul

The original smoking mod was on my first Top 50 list, so it's awesome seeing it get new upgrades, interactions & animations.

I've never smoked IRL, but sooooo many of my sims just puff-puff away; I'm such an enabler. U_U Now all we need is cigars and pipes!

35 - 38: Callia-Evergreen/Camkitty's CAS CC for animal hybrids at MTS

Not a "mod" per se, but whatever--my list my rules! I love ALL of their CC, but I get SO MUCH use out of animal-themed CC like the digitigrade sliders, wolf feet, lizard tails, and fae wings. Do check them out if you like to play with horror and monster-sims!

39: @greenplumbboblover's Sheep

EASILY one of the most incredible mods I've ever seen. Like....HOW? (Once @omedapixel's Goats are done I'm gonna start screaming someone do llamas pleeeeeaaaaase!!!)

40: Arsil's musical instruments mod

I used the sax most recently in my IWTV gameplay, and it was excellent, perfect for the NOLA vibes! However, although I use the flute A LOT more (for my Untamed gameplay--it's been such a GODSEND!), I really wish the hands were positioned better, preferably using the poses from Chisims' flute poseset. (But I don't eff with poses/animations, otherwise I'd do it myself. U_U) Ah well, it's still one of my fave mods though.

41 - 42: Flower Arranging mod by zoe22 + @mspoodle1's Florist Collection

Guys, I've been wanting this mod since FOREVER! ^0^ (I swear, the best thing about TS4 is all the 4t3 conversions, LMAO!) I just wish Teens could Dabble and use it, too--all they can do is stock the table.

43: Just Sit/Nap Anywhere by FloTheory

Sometimes you just want sims to fall asleep anywhere, DANG, EA!

44: @sweetdevil-sims' Toddler Food DR

Cuz EA's food is UUUUUUUUGLY~! I kept forgetting to install it, only to be rudely reminded every time I had to look at my toddler sims eating MUD.

45 - 46: @mspoodle1's mail pen quill DR and @omedapixel's pencil quill DR

I looooove quill pens IRL (ballpoint pens, not the fountain pens--I'm way too messy), so having mods that let my sims use them too is 👌

47: Fireflies Enhanced! by Canibal_MLO

I love anything that enhances the wildlife and collectibles/harvestables to be more dynamic and interactive. And I was JUST about to do a firefly catching scene for my IWTV insp. gameplay, so this came right on time! The falling leaves effect is delightful, but I kinda wish it was falling flower petals instead, cuz ofc I do. 🌸

48: Unicorn Aurora DR by Canibal_MLO

GORGEOUS. This mod replaces the unicorn mist with northern lights, like.... I love the genius ideas simmers have.

49: Custom Plumbbob Color tool by CrossTheMersey

What a neat idea! Although the default Maxis colors are ingrained in my psyche, with the iconic green plumbbob, as soon as I saw this mod I knew I wanted to at least try something different and play around with it.

50: @aa6x7's Teru Teru Bozu + other edits [Honorable Mention]

I rave about Cmomoney's Time/Weather Mod all the time, I use it constantly. AA6x7's Teru Teru Bozu (Japanese "Sunshine Monk" charms) is kinda like a simpler version of it, as it just resets bad weather back to Sunny. But it's such a cute idea and perfect for my gameplay. Plus, AA6x7 makes all kinds of neat edits/mods to EA's bulky AF meshes, so if you haven't checked them out already, DO!

And that's all the mods I've managed to try out recently!

I don't have anywhere near the kind of free time that I used to, so my simming has been put on the backburner and I've missed all kinds of cool and exciting releases. But trust: I am taking note, so that I know what to try once I have time.

Get Pumped!

This started as just a simple solution to allow my Sims to work out without a TV, radio or gym equipment present but I’m a fitness nut so I knew I couldn’t stop there. I love working out and am always trying out new workouts or gyms like people try out food or clothes. It’s one of my favorite hobbies IRL so I was happy to try and make more exercise/fitness things for my athletic Sims.

This is the Exercise Mat I previewed a few weeks (months?) ago and I added a few more features like the ability to teach classes and also free weights (dumbbells and kettlebell).

Credit/Thanks: @aroundthesims for the free weights and kettlebell which are hers. I only recategorized them to Sports/Hobbies. Mats and board are EA. Animations by me, Mixamo and EA!

All the info and download link are after the jump, read through it all before downloading!

Exercise Mat:

Sims can do different floor and body weight exercises on the mat, which are skill gated:

Sit ups, squats: Level 2

Push ups, single-leg squats, bicycle crunches: Level 3

Burpees: Level 4

Sims can also stretch which has benefits if you do it before and/or after exercising. 

Stretching before: the Feeling Limber moodlet will prevent your Sim from getting fatigued so long as it is active

Stretching after: the Feeling Limber moodlet will remove soreness if you have it

If there is an instructor mat on the lot, you can assign the mat to the instructor mat so Sims will use it for classes

Instructor Mat: This mat lets Sims who have Athletic skill 5 or higher teach exercise classes. 

Assign Instructor - sets who the instructor will be for the mat

Schedule Class - self-explanatory; select a time a date to host a class

Start Class - if you don’t want to wait, you can start a class now. Instructors will wait 20 sim minutes (tunable) before starting the class to allow interested Sims to join.

Toggle Stereo - requires IP to work, adds a stereo to the instructor mat so you can play music during class

Free Weights:

You can lift dumbbells or kettlebells. That's pretty much it. These guys look super happy about it.

You only need one dumbbell. The other one is a prop which will be created once your Sim starts lifting.

Gym Board:

Sign Up for Class (Note: you can't sign up for classes that have no spots available but you can still show up and try to get a spot if there's a no show)

Cancel Sign Up

Gym Classes:

Instructors can hold Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced gym classes, the difference in difficulty affects the fat/muscle delta, fatigue level and athletic skill gain. The ability to hold different class levels is skill gated at Levels 5, 6 and 7 respectively.

If you schedule a class, the instructor and any Sims that sign up for the class will be pushed to the lot an hour before the class starts. Sims cannot join a class after it starts but if they leave before the class ends, they still get charged.

The cost per person is based on the class level and the instructor’s athletic skill. If you have NRaas Career and the Instructor is in the Trainer skill-based career, they will also earn extra money and the funds will go towards their career advancement.

If there are no spots available, you can still check what time the class is and get information on the class if you want to show up and see if a spot opens up.

If classes are hosted on a non-park community lot, like a gym, 25% of the class fees will go to the venue (the venue owner will receive this if it’s owned).

You can check and sign up for scheduled classes on the gym board object. Instructors can also cancel classes there.

There are two "rewards" available: Top Trainer and Gym Rat. Top Trainers are Sims that have taught at least 20 classes. After achieving that, their classes are worth more and they also keep a larger percentage of the cost per student. Gym Rats are Sims that have taken at least 10 classes after which they get a discount on any other classes afterwards.

Notes: 

My suggestion is to organize the class room like how I have in my photos with the mats horizontal facing the instructor. I'd also space them out more than I did as some of the exercises involve a lot of jumping/moving around but I have small lots so I have to squeeze in as much as I can! With this plus Twin's spin class and yoga mods, I'm going to need a bigger gym!!

The instructor will face whichever mat is first in the list of assigned mats so I would suggest assigning the front center mat first.

You can have multiple instructors/instructor mats on the same lot but an instructor can only be assigned to one mat.

Sims cannot take a class if they don't have more than $400 in their family funds. You can change this if you like but I don't want my broke inactives spending money on gym classes (we have gym at home!)

If Sims are not autonomously joining classes or using the mat, it’s probably because you have too many advertising objects on your lot that are competing with it. You can up the advertising for the mat but it’s already quite high so you just have to figure out how to balance it. The Join Class interaction does advertise fun and social in addition to the standard Athletic Game Object advertising so I would suggest upping that in order to get more attention from Sims.

The animation of Sims picking up/dropping the free weight is kind of wonky. I may try to fix it later.

There’s a collection file for all the objects but you will find all of them under Entertainment/Sporting Goods. Nothing is more expensive than 150 simoleons.

This is set for YA+ because a) some of the animations will sink for teens and b) they are always trying to do their fucking homework around each other while I'm holding classes and it drove me crazy. You can change the ITUN if you want teens to use it but you've been warned.

Future updates: I'm already thinking about using a similar system to create dance classes. Making an active Dancer career is something I’ve wanted for a while and I have a Sim that would be perfect to test it.

This is one of the so-called music cafes where you can listen to go-go with live music by electric bands and loud LP records, and dance go-go in the center of the floor. "

The "Go-go kissa" posted on April 5th has been slightly self renovated.

I'm really bad at choosing exterior walls. I wouldn't say it's very nice.

I created a signboard in the style of the late 1960s.

I made the tables, chairs, and floor look old-fashioned. Full of retro feel.

The Sims seem to be having a lot of fun chatting, dancing, and drinking, so I'm glad I built it.

to celebrate my one year anniversary of this blog, a small gift! this is something i’ve wanted for ages - a default replacement of the wildflowers (without the weird red vase, what was ea thinking??) i ended up changing some of the flower types to something that i thought was prettier! the text changes are currently only in ENGLISH, but if you would like to translate this mod, send me a message! (i would have loved to add other types of wildflower like larkspur or yarrow, but all of them share the same mesh so i had to keep it simple)

This is a small gift I made for all of you for supporting me and just being wonderful <3 It took me ages to find something I wanted to make and could make, and in the end I came up with this small posepack! I also converted the incredibly talented @serenebluesims 's lilly of the valley accessory! Thank you so much to them for letting me do this! This is my first time making poses and converting an accessory, so there may be a few problems. However, I've checked everything in my game and there aren't any issues I've come across (besides small clipping with the poses). Let me know if you find anything wrong, or have any issues - I'm happy to help!

AINALI by technicallyswagpizza

Ainali lies at the northern end of Finland where pristine blue lakes are surrounded by dense green forests. The rural village itself boasts of pretty, colourful traditional houses. Ainali is a destination for people who want to experience wild nature and love being outdoors, be it fishing, hiking, biking or simply getting lost. Also a great place for introverts to unite! As far away from other people as possible, of course.

I turned into a bit of a world collector *coughhoardercough* while I have been on a mission to find a perfect world that suits my playstyle and aesthetics plus is relatively small and lag free. I haven’t found many worlds that are based on Scandinavia let alone Finland, but I stumbled upon Vera’s Sammallampi awhile ago and I fell in love with it! It made me feel all fuzzy inside as it reminded me of my childhood and sweet summer holidays by the Ainali lake. I edited the world for my own enjoyment initially, but as I have been doing so I figured I might as well share it with the rest of you simmers since it really is a nifty little world!

What has changed then?

The playable area is now a medium map within a large world map, if that makes sense. Even though the lots are a little spread out around the lake it won’t take several sim hours to drive from one end to the other.

The original distant terrain didn’t load for me, so I replaced it with ones from Twinbrooks and Island Paradise.

Updated some of the textures such as grass and soil to use Nilxis textures instead.

I have fixed all the roads, spawners and overall routing, I removed one of the piers as it was causing routing issues as well. Sadly, I had to make the small islands unroutable too.

I removed quite a lot of trees, but it is still very much a tree heavy world.

I have tamed all the floating grasses and trees.

I added more lots and changed the size for some of the originals.

I created a lighting mod and included it in the world file.

Finally, I renamed it after my childhood stomping grounds.

But wait, there is more! I have made two versions for you to choose from!

#1 Empty world // Requirements:

Base-game and Ambitions, Island Paradise distant terrain is included in the download incase you don’t have the pack installed.

Map is completely empty, has a wide variety of spawners and ready to be built by you. Go crazy!

#2 Built and ready to move in! // Requirements:

Base game, World Adventures, Ambitions, Generations, Late Night, Showtime, University Life, Aurora Skies store world, (Island Paradise is optional).

All the lots are built and furnished.

I want to emphasize that this is very much a base game friendly world with some items used from the rest of the packs listed above simply for their functionality (Late Night for bars, University for baristas and grocery rabbithole, Ambitions for skilling items, Generations for a wedding arch etc) and as the world is based on a nordic village I used Aurora Skies stuff in it as well but it’s mostly just roofs, paneling and the lovely lupin flowers that come with it. If you don’t have some of the expansion packs or don’t want to install Aurora Skies the items I have used will simply be replaced by something else from your own game. Nothing should break, but some bits might look a little bare or funky due to the replaced items!

Almost there, just few more bits!

I have created a lighting mod for Ainali and included it in the world file itself, I would recommend at least trying it out (by taking your own lighting mod out of Mods/Packages folder to see it in action)! If you like Ainali’s lighting and want to use it in other worlds or as a standalone mod, shoot me a message and I’ll make a package for you.

This world comes with 16 Community lots, 14 Residential lots and 2 empty lots. I have not included population.

Ainali comes with basic rabbit hole careers you would get in a vanilla game. Even though I have all the expansions I rarely if ever play with pets or occult sims, so lots related to them you have to add yourself (Festival lots, future and showtime bits).

I would strongly advise downloading Nraas Go Here and disabling boats. They will cause lag as townies have a habit of looping around endlessly. Same with horses, really, as they tend to get stuck.

Some houses and lots may look familiar as I have edited and used EA lots as a base + 2 lots from doublemedion694′s Cladbridge-on-Stowe (one was made by Reachsim) and 1 lot from CAW blog’s Amberville.

You do NOT need the original Sammallampi world installed for Ainali to work. This is a completely new world that simply used Sammallampi as a base.

So just to make sure this is clear, everything else aside from the rabbit hole rugs/doors are entirely, utterly, completely cc free. I used Nilxis textures while building in CAW, but you don’t have to download them nor will they have an impact on your game outside of Ainali. The rest is just pure vanilla EA base game stuff, part of expansion packs or Aurora Skies.

KAIHOLA by technicallyswagpizza

"Sea and people have made the island what it is today. The island's epic landscapes are the stuff of poetry. Sand, wind, unspoiled archipelago and the beautiful bedrock, worn smooth by glacial ice. Glistening in the afternoon sun, yellow, red and white houses cling to rocky shores and fishing boats bob in the water. The verdant pine forests turn to charming leafy tunnels, framing every view. Time stops, people live a quiet life here."

Kaiho is a word that is a bit more difficult to translate as it has a certain type of melancholic nuance to it that nostalgia or longing for something doesn't cover exactly. Kaihola is my ode to Finland, an undefinable sadness that won't go away. The world is loosely based on two islands off the coast of Finland, Hailuoto and Ahvenanmaa, and my tiny hometown up north.

FEATURES

Medium sized map.

35 lots all in all spread across the island.

Unpopulated.

Includes a base camp enabling you to use Kaihola as a travel destination.

Spanking new distant terrain and matching terrain painting textures.

Wide variety of regular spawners, no World Advenures or ITF
