Yes, you're right. More white people are killed by police than black people. However, black people make up 12% of the total American population, yet make up 25% of the people killed by police, meaning the percentage is much, much higher.

It's not about numbers. It's about rates and percentages. Wear a mask, wash your hands, and stay six feet apart. And black lives matter.

Sometimes I feel like I'm Nick Carraway, trying to fit into a story that's not mine, neither about me nor mine to tell. I'm an omniscient observer watching the protagonists live their lives, undisturbed by my inconsequential presence.
