One Item I Don’t Show Off Much In My Collection, Mostly Due To The Feelings Against Anything Confederate

One item I don’t show off much in my collection, mostly due to the feelings against anything Confederate in the last year, is an unissued Southern Cross of Honor. The SCH was essentially the South’s version of the Medal of Honor (which originated in the Civil War). The SCH though was never actually awarded during the Civil War, instead the first was awarded in 1900 by the United Daughters of the Confederacy who created the award and was given to Southern veterans in recognition of loyal, honorable service to the South. I picked this one up at a flea market last summer for $7 and took it to a guy I know who said it’s worth around $250 as is. A named one will typically sell for around $300-$750 depending on who it was awarded to and what battles they participated in.

Hello everyone. I'm gonna say right off the bat and say that this money is for both me and my boyfriend. We've been planning for some time now to move to Canada so we can start our new life together, and we believe that now is a good time to start. In recent weeks, my mother has been hounding me...

Those are some cool bomber jackets, I have a shoulder band for the Civil Defense of New Jersey as well as a patch I got from my uncle that says "Operation Iraqi Freedom". At my grandmother's house I found some WWI medals which had the State of New Jersey victory medal in a bad as well as some silk.

Thank you. Im about to start on a few more, two of which I’m hoping to sell. I’m also working on trying to find more stuff like the Civil Defense and WWI items like those. They’re usually a rarity around these parts except for the CD helmets which they sold surplus to the local coal mines.

Me again, if you could go to any fictional place, where would you go? Also, I'm going to make a tunblr account later today, so I don't have to stay anonymous

Oh, that's a tough one. Especially with a lot of fictional places being real (seeing all of Luna's papers teaches you things) so that's a hard one to answer. I'd have to say Florida. Everyone knows that place can't be real with all the news reports about there.

I Know It Doesn't Really Fit With My Blog But I Really Liked This Picture I Took While Riding In An Old

I know it doesn't really fit with my blog but I really liked this picture I took while riding in an old WWII torpedo bomber that was flying in formation with a B-25J Mitchell. Thought maybe someone else would like to see it too

Something else I do when I’m not writing MLP fanfics or being lazy, is train as aircrew to eventually fly our museum’s WWII B-25 bomber. As a student pilot, I’ve not gotten enough hours to train yet as copilot so for now I’m training as a flight engineer and navigator. For navigation, I sit in the most forward seat in the nose which is nicknamed “the greenhouse” because of all the windows which make it sweltering hot. But it always offers the best views.

To My Followers

I know my blog is far from the most active and definitely not the most interesting as I don't put pictures up with answers, but I want to thank you all for sticking with my blog and not unfollowing despite my long absences. It means a lot to me that you all stick around. Thank you so so much

Any Requests?

Just to try and make my blog a little bit more lively, does anyone have any requests for stuff they want to see? More aviation posts or my military collection? Anything really?

cute blog i'm so so sorry I didn't see this earlier

It’s quite alright. I’m not the most frequent with posting so I typically just fly right under the radar.
