I make this plea as a woman whose father won’t accept her because he’s more attached to his idea of a “son” than he is to the actual person (woman) that exists. I work in a chemical production plant that emits a lot of waste heat. This means that at night in winter the entire plant is occupied by crows and ravens, which sleep soundly. Sometimes they sleep so deeply that they don't realise when you gently nudge them. They also look so peaceful.
