Riven & Helia Headcanons +*

Riven and Helia do art related activities together during the weekends. Helia introduced more art forms besides music (collages, paintings, etc.) to Riven. At first Riven sucked at them, but after being reassured by Helia, he’s better at them. It also helped him express his feelings more!

Remember the scene where Helia called out Riven’s treatment to Musa? (S3 EP19) Imagine they both do that to each other. It’d be nice for each of them to find out their flaws from one another, and work it out with each other. (Or work on it by themselves.)

They both enjoy taking walks/jogs with each other. It just takes longer incase Helia wants to sketch something he sees on the way (only on walks).

Sleeping in bed together at first, Riven needed a lot of space. He eventually cuddled up to Helia, then allowed Helia to cuddled up with him. Now both hug each other while sleeping, but can change incase one or both of them need space. (Riven likes being little spoon.)

Another point: Helia helps with pointing out Riven’s toxic masculinity. 

Riven tries to do things “traditionally” romantic for Helia (Writing a love poem, etc.), but either Helia (genuinely) laughs at it or just says,”You tried your best.” 

Helia takes care of his skin because of his skin routine. Riven makes fun of it at first, but then gets slowly interested. Now they both have skin care routines! 

Helia likes looking at Riven’s face and expressions, probably sketches them. Riven likes looking at Helia, especially when he’s smiling or laying down (Because he looks great with his hair down and out.) Really makes him blush and question himself. Ya know?

“Why did you grow out your hair?” “Because I can?”

“You’re pretty gay.” “Says the one wearing a crop top.”

Additionally: “Look at these cute pens.” “Helia that’s gay.” “...Riven we’ve been dating-”

(Made this because apparently all my ships are rare ships.Also I want to open up and socialize more.)

Why I think Riven had substantial character development in season four

Yes, season four. I know this is somewhat a controversial topic because many people in the fandom seem to dislike season four, which is fine, but something that has always confused me is how readily people are to dismiss the character development of Riven. I know we all have our confirmation biases and whatnot, but as far as I see it, his character development is right there, out in the open, painted in bold letters.   

So, naturally, I thought I’d share my two cents on the topic. But first, let’s talk about Riven.

Put that together (She probably made pizza the national dish🍕/ I guess that’s why they change the planet’s name to Sparxs??? I get it if you don’t understand since your country probably doesn’t have Domino’s Pizza or you only know the 4Kids Dub)

Okay I saw @sippingteainurhood’s reply and wanted to give it its own post because it brings up a topic most fans look over. I’m not bringing in any personal opinions to this, I’m just stating what happens in the end of SotLK, and trust me, it will ruin your day.

So I know most people believe Bloom earned her full Enchantix after freeing everyone in Obsidian, but we never hear anyone confirm that in the movie (I’m going off the English dub — not the Nick English dub). It’s something viewers just kind of took at face value. Which is understandable because Bloom’s whole journey was about saving her planet and her birth parents, right?

But what I would like to point out is this: Bloom never saved anyone in Obsidian or restored Sparx, so it’s impossible for her to have earned her full Enchantix. And let me tell you the infuriating story as to why that is.

If you break down the battle on Obsidian, Bloom was going to die. Sky was believed to be dead from trying to take Oritel’s sword, and the Ancestral Witches fused themselves into Mandragora to enhance her power and was choking the life out of Bloom. Bloom only broke free of them because Sky wasn’t actually dead. Why did Sky not die? Because of a lovely little prophecy casually thrown into the film: “A king without a crown will save a king of a lost kingdom and what was lost will be again.” And guess who just so happened to be secretly crowned king of Eraklyon earlier in the movie? So Sky sneaks up behind Mandragora, and stabs her in the back with Oritel’s sword. And because of this, Obsidian is destroyed and Sparx is restored.

Bloom didn’t destroy Obsidian. Bloom didn’t save her people. And Bloom didn’t restore Sparx. Sky did.

We spent three seasons of this show that centered around girl power knowing Bloom’s destiny was to save her birth parents and restore Sparx just to have that be ripped away from her and given to her boyfriend.

She should have earned her full Enchantix then. But the plot was literally set up to where that could never happen because we had to have Sky swoop in and save the day and save his “princess” to remind everyone that he’s her “hero” (a theme that pops up quite frequently in this movie).

So yeah. I hope that ruined everyone’s day as much as it ruined mine.

I see people talk about fairies with guns, I find it funny and draw it out.

There’s no shame in being in a fandom just to have fun. Making friends, posting for personal enjoyment and out of love for a series is okay and a perfectly good reason to post your stuff. Not everything needs to be a comptetition of best/biggest/strongest/flashiest.

Remember that time in season 3 where Tecna died and everyone was like, "It's not Winx Club without Tecna! We should disband the group" ...Yeah

Now, I’m not saying romantic relationships are inferior, or that they’re useless, or that you being in one or that you shipping some characters romantically is Bad or something off the walls like that. What I’m saying is that two people (or characters, since we’re talking shipping here) can be just as devoted to each other, love each other just as deeply, mean just as much to each other while being in a platonic relationship. The end point of caring about someone doesn’t have to be romance.

Friendship isn’t a stepping stone between strangers and romantic partners, it’s a different path. And you can follow that path as deep into the wood as a romantic one if you want, and neither is inferior to the other, they just have different views.
