HELLO THE SCENE WHERE INEJ IS PERFORMING AND SOMEONE MAKES A RACIST COMMENT AND ZOYA GOES "SHE'S SULI" AND THEN AND THEN LATER WHEN INEJ AND ZOYA FIGHT THE VOLCRA TOGETHER>>>>>>
I Stan our two Suli Queens.
GENTLE REMINDER that though all the other characters are amazing, ALINA STARKOV IS THE PROTAGONIST LET'S NOT FORGET THE QUEEN.
Unfriendly Reminder that
Isaak deserved better :(
“Most of us can hide our greatest hurts and longings. It’s how we survive each day. We pretend the pain isn’t there, that we are made of scars instead of wounds."
“Most women suffer thorns for the sake of the flowers. But we who would wield power adorn ourselves in flowers to hide the sting of our thorns.”
~Leigh Bardugo, King of Scars
“Zoya, say something spiteful.”
“Why?” she asked faintly.
“Because I’m fairly certain I’m hallucinating, and in my dreams you’re much nicer.”
“You’re an idiot, Nikolai.”
“Not your best work.”
“I’m sorry I can’t deliver better wordplay right now. I seem to be paralyzed with fear.”
Don’t we all? Who didn’t want to think fate had a plan for him, that his hurts and failures had just been the prologue to a grander tale? To a monk becoming a holy warrior. To a bastard becoming a king.
Nikolai had been told hope was dangerous, had been warned of it many times. But he’d never believed that. Hope was the wind that came from nowhere to fill your sails and carry you home.
~Nikolai Lantsov, King of Scars.
I love how Kos is supposed to be about demons and alliances and how Zoyalai literally have to run a kingdom but then there's this-

Friendly reminder to never mess with our Corpse Witch, Nina Zenik.

He buried his face in her hair, inhaling deeply. “How is it I smell like goose shit and cheap whiskey and you smell like you just ran through a meadow of wildflowers?”
“Ruthlessness.”
He breathed in again. “What is that scent? It reminds me of something, but I can’t place what.”
“The last child you tried to eat?”
“That must be it.”
Mood.
OH my god prince Phillip passed away?! So sad😦...
No thoughts, just this. IT'S THE RAW FKING EMOTION FOR ME-
Okay so this scene in heir of fire where the Valg are in Celaena's head and she's reliving all of her worst memories. She's broken and she's accepting the pain that Sam and Nehemia are giving her because she thinks she deserves it as she failed them. And then she goes to a scene where she sees her parents and Sam and Nehemia and Aelin and they all ask her to get up, but she can't. And one by one they all start calling her a traitor but Aelin keeps sitting beside her, reaching her arm out. I think it signifies really beautifully how everyone ends up hating Celaena for some reason or the other and she accepts their hate even though she loves them. But Aelin always stays with her. She stays even when everyone else's words turn to poison. And that moment when she decides to take Aelin's hand is when Celaena Sardothien dies. Samlaena happy ending besties<3
Some poems were easier than others. Some were inscrutable. I was thinking that maybe I did know the meaning of that word.
I got to thinking that poems were like people. Some people you got right off the bat. Some people you just didn’t get—and never would get.
~Benjamin Alire Sáenz, Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe
As Dante was watching me search the sky through the lens of a telescope, he whispered, “Someday, I’m going to discover all the secrets of the universe.”
That made me smile. “What are you going to do with all those secrets, Dante?”
“I’ll know what to do with them,” he said. “Maybe change the world.”
I believed him.
~Benjamin Alire Sáenz, Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe
“Do you think it will always be this way?”
“What?”
“I mean, when do we start feeling like the world belongs to us?”
I wanted to tell him that the world would never belong to us. “I don't know,” I said. “Tomorrow.”

“Senior year. And then life. Maybe that's the way it worked. High school was just a prologue to the real novel. Everybody got to write you -- but when you graduated, you got to write yourself. At graduation you got to collect your teacher's pens and your parents' pens and you got your own pen. And you could do all the writing. Yeah. Wouldn't that be sweet?”
― Benjamin Alire Sáenz, Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe
“I wondered what that was like, to hold someone’s hand. I bet you could sometimes find all of the mysteries of the universe in someone’s hand.”

“You can call me Rowan. That’s all you need to know.” He cocked his head to the side, a predator assessing prey. “Thank you for the oil,” he added. “My skin was a little dry.”
He never specified that only you had to wear it.
Her throat tightened and she shook her head.
What?
You just … She shook her head again. Surprise me sometimes.
Good. I’d hate for you to get bored.
This is the level of badass-ness I wanna achieve.
